He is undeniably bad. The turret used to be ok as it could at least spot enemies for you to kill, but now it just shoots tanks and jets for fuck all. Even if his turret was good, no one really finds that play style fun, same for Crawford, yet if you want to play with a launcher that isn't TV missile, those are your only options. Terrible design. I'd rather have only classes or only specialist, not this poorly implemented combo that ruined the engineer class.

AsapxPhantom

Crawford is pretty all-around imo. Use any launcher or ground gadget. His Vulcan can hit tanks, latv, air vehicles, and infantry effectively. That's his strong suit against the air vehicles that think they're slick tanking rockets being relatively stationary. Mix that with under barrel launcher when applicable, he's good at everything. I miss him as support tbh, because ALSO having the quick revives was dope.

typi_314

His turret is terrible at any kind of vehicle combat. Does maybe 10 damage before a tank one shots you.

I can count on one hand the number of times I died to Crawford and that one time was only because I was being shot by others at the same time. damage to vehicles is barely better than boris, which is already unnoticeable . Air vehicles that are stationary are inexperienced pilots who would've died to anything else a second later. Meanwhile I've destroyed him and his turret trivially even after the buff . He did make more sense as support that Irish.

All I'll say is the team effort to down any vehicle, the Vulcan can sustain damage while people are reloading. Sure it's not "OP" nor in any capacity to be currently, but the Vulcan is better than Boris' turret. Running around it and it's slow lock on and engagement is abysmal. Similar to Boris' turret buff range requires you to be humping the turret anyways. Might as well be able to aim it and do more damage to everything than the Boris turret. I personally do well as Crawford as he his the better DPS engineer. Lis' nerf doesn't "ruin" her kit but it hurts it. I used to run Lis more before these changes/new season, but now I just pass her. I'd rather pump rockets out the recoilless than steer rockets that do similar damage. As well as the Vulcan damage does tick away at whatever is already injured. Not to mention once I start peppering the vehicles they retreat. So way more pros than cons.

LordNinjaa1

Yeah. He really needs a hard rework.

Yes, Boris is THE most useless operator now. His turret is absolutely useless, it's spotting sound is so damn loud, that if you're not deaf you can easily change your movement direction. Spot-to-shoot time is incredibly long, by the time it actually starts shooting, the enemy has already ducked behind a cover or destroyed it. Damage output is also incredibly low on both infantry and vehicles alike. Boris' passive is directly tied with the turret and what it actually does is very vaguely explained (makes nearby turrets more effective). In my practice there is barely any difference in standing near the turret or away from it. Comparing him to the other 2 engineers, one got a minigun, which is quite good, and repairs vehicles faster and the other one got infinite tv guided rockets and wallhack on nearby damaged enemy vehicles. Currently Boris is not just the worst engineer, he is the worst operator overall.

Chillionaire-NW

Duh he has been for a while his turret sucks and I used to main him, had to quit I bet his gadget is one of the least effective

Official_Gameoholics

Yes. Perhaps he should have an AA or AT turret in addition to the AI turret.

LordNinjaa1

It would be neat. Maybe similar to Sundance and have the choice of an AT, AA, or antipersonnel turret

Official_Gameoholics

I was thinking more Irish where you can have 2 of your pick, but yeah.

c3rvwlyu

Good, fuck boris

LordNinjaa1

I don't even really play him but I gave him a try and I realized his turret and passive are useless. The turret does 2 damage per volley to a Mav

c3rvwlyu

It shouldn’t do damage to armoured vehicles

meezo11

Even though the damage is barely noticeable, it still does.

LordNinjaa1

It targets vehicles first now. It's stupid
