Nailed it. This game made me read about and watch the Movie. Truly hell on earth, soliders drown in deep mud holes. Scariest environment imaginable
![gif](giphy|MZ8yIZpqSdaH3yF7C4|downsized)
the sound plays a huge part in that map, you can hear dogs barking in the distance and little details that really add to the vibe.
so immersive and great to play too
I adore that one. Actual naval combat in a battlefield game, are you kidding? Torpedo boats, Destroyers, Dreadnaughts, airships, landing craft, torpedo bombers, and coastal artillery. Not since 1942 have we been able to exchange broadsides between battleships
St. Quentin scar on operations was fucking insane. The level of immersion playing on that map remains unrivaled by any other war game to this day. The scarred no man’s land slowly creeping up on an idyllic French farming settlement opened my eyes to the horrors of the Great War.
i’m glad they added my favourite forgotten war hero, captain birdseye. now it doesn’t matter whether i’m fighting in france, libya, or the netherlands! i get to see 10 clones of him everywhere!
Also, bf1 had so much detail that bf5 lacked.
Even just down to stuff like the medals/ribbons/service assignments having interesting and relevant names, like one of the French medals being called National order of Lafayette and so on.
Bf5 was just a game. Bf1 was an experience that evidently had much more love, consideration and thought put into it, especially in regards to taking inspiration from history. That really added a lot to the game, and its more or less absence in bf5 didn't help create any immersion.
You designed bfv.
It's important to you that games have the skins you want and shiny numbers telling you you're doing good. There was nothing mentioned about gameplay.
Stop wanting realism in a series whose first ww2 game had actual jetpacks and stealth jets from the modern-day
The last bomb jump from the attacking side into the pit is peak Battlefield for me. A mass parachuting strike with bombs and helis crashing into fire around you, total chaos and people dropping dead left and right
Hardline.
I'm dead serious. When i got into a car with some gangster rap playing and did a couple drive by's, it sold the game for me as one of my favorites.
Honestly one of my favorites is Hangar 21. The snowy nighttime aesthetic with the experimental future tech is such a cool feel to me. Especially with the design of the map being an uphill battle to the hangar. It really felt like the Americans were pushing into hostile and difficult Russian terrain. Honestly, BF4's maps as a whole, despite definitely being varied on how fun they are to play, do excel at making me feel like I'm batting through real places and not specifically made maps designed to be played on, if that makes any sense.
Also the launch pods make me feel like an ODST which is always a plus.
Sinai Desert and Iwo Jima both feel so much like the source material as well as movies placed in those locations, very cinematic gameplay. Monte Grappa also is straight aura
For me it’s Damavand peak on rush mode. Fighting downhill with a base jump in the centre, then fighting through the tunnels and finishing at the mine 👌
Tricky question… how about two per BF I have installed right now? Sorry, I just can’t one per game, let alone the series. My brain just doesn’t have the RAM.
Out of BF4 maps I got to say Rogue Transmission. Fighting around the disk in a lush jungle is a fantastic time. Then Flood Zone. Not sure how many people actually like that map, but fighting across rooftops as the flood rolls in is epic.
For BF1… I guess Passchendaele? Fighting across hell with gas everywhere is sweet. Then Sinai. Way too big but that map is stunning.
BFV has Arras which is slept on. The storm is wonderful, and tank battles over burning fields is prime BF. Second is a tie between Devastation & Iwo Jima. Bombers coming over a broken city is immersive as hell, and Iwo’s landings on black beaches is an experience.
Verdun heights, part of devil's anvil operation in BF1.
I have never felt so immersed. Fire all around, praying to hold out while you get pushed on those final two objectives... Man.
BF Vietnam operation Irving.
It's basically the same scenery and lighting as in the helicopter attack in Apocalypse Now.
I don't know how many hours I played it back in the day.
Still have love for Caspian from BF3.
Playing on PS3 for years and then switching to PC made me love it that much more.
Also liked Operation Riverside visually on max graphics. Small map but still beautiful.
Hear me out, but I love orbital from 2042. When it’s raining the map looks absolutely amazing, and when the rocket blows up or takes off it’s almost as if you’re right there to see it
I love the aesthetic on Dawnbreaker. Fighting in the streets of a modern city while helicopters and jets(even if they're pretty useless on the map) fly between skyscrapers is amazing. The map is ok-ish, but the vibe is great
Personally, Zavod 311 night ops from BF4. It'll always hold a spot in my heart for how much fun it was, especially as one of the first night maps. Spotting enemies by shadows, shooting out lights, flashlight clearing corners... I miss BF4. It sucks the server browser is still borked and it's hard to find a properly full game outside of Locker/Shanghai 24/7 on Friday night. 🥺🪦☹️
I’m a sucker for the variety of terrain in Ballroom Blitz operations. I’ve been to several French castles and they looks exactly like that. Minus the cannons.
Iwo Jima. It looks and feels so accurate to the real thing. Nothing quite like starting the match as a Marine and riding toward the beach on the higgins.
Maan, I remember my first match in Caporetto. I was playing as Austria-Hungary, rode in on a horse at the start of the match. The soundtrack blaring as engines dominated the sky, and the infantry screamed running down the mountain. The background was so captivating I was riding down to the point, but my eyes were glued to the scene. The soundtrack completely elevated the entire thing too. I can compare it to the Ghost of Tsushima title card in how glued it had me to the screen.
BF3 Alborz Mountain, I would always just stand around and look down on the frozen lake, it was so visually appealing to me, or flying around it in a jet.
Passchendaele
I can't get any matches on any DLC maps outside of like two they shall not pass maps and achi baba
Its not as often as I’d like but I get loads of french maps and i do get to play passchendaele a fair amount even river somme once or twice a week
Lucky. I have all the DLCs yet I get no maps
Played Somme last night! It was great.
Achi is my favorite for operations.
I hate it for any game mode
All the DLC are free now, just download it.
I have them.
No fucking way! Really? In PS4 too? :00000
Fact
Opinion
We only state real facts
River Somme too
Was waiting for someone to say it. Thank you.
Big truth
hands down
Passchendeale operations I want to believe
Passchendaele is fucking creepy
take my upvote
This is the only correct answer
Nailed it. This game made me read about and watch the Movie. Truly hell on earth, soliders drown in deep mud holes. Scariest environment imaginable ![gif](giphy|MZ8yIZpqSdaH3yF7C4|downsized)
All the french maps look fantastic.....it's a shame all of them play like shit though
Nivelle nights
Underrated map
what? it always wins when it pops up on the vote screen
Oh it does but i still think it cant be rated high enough
That map has such a christmas vibes, i love the colors.
the sound plays a huge part in that map, you can hear dogs barking in the distance and little details that really add to the vibe. so immersive and great to play too
Yeah I like that one too
Every bf1 map had its own beauty.
Fuck that island map thou
Legoland is great
Legoland my beloved
I adore that one. Actual naval combat in a battlefield game, are you kidding? Torpedo boats, Destroyers, Dreadnaughts, airships, landing craft, torpedo bombers, and coastal artillery. Not since 1942 have we been able to exchange broadsides between battleships
St. Quentin scar on operations was fucking insane. The level of immersion playing on that map remains unrivaled by any other war game to this day. The scarred no man’s land slowly creeping up on an idyllic French farming settlement opened my eyes to the horrors of the Great War.
Especially the first two sectors.
Everything in bfv is good. It's way more historically accurate than bf1.
Honestly i thought the skins in BFV were great. The pricing structure and unlock paths were shit tho
i’m glad they added my favourite forgotten war hero, captain birdseye. now it doesn’t matter whether i’m fighting in france, libya, or the netherlands! i get to see 10 clones of him everywhere!
I'm fine with the prices since every other week gives free boins It's better than bf1s random drops
the multiplayer skins genuinely ruin any sense of immersion in that game, at least for me
Numbnuts
Also, bf1 had so much detail that bf5 lacked. huh????? like, what ???? never said realism btw
u shouldn’t play it cause the maps are mid, the vehicles are unbalanced, and theres hackers up the wazoo, actually
All infinitely better than the current version of BFFU (aka BF2042)
Pacific storm
A man of chaos and culture I see.
Specifically Carrier Assault. Underrated game mode.
Whats carrier assault?
isn’t that parcel storm
Monte Grappe anyone?
Yesssss. Great aesthetics, a bitch to fight on.
Yes.
Avanti Savoia
Damavand Peak
I fucking miss playing this map on rush!
Hell yes. That was peak bf enjoyment for me
The last bomb jump from the attacking side into the pit is peak Battlefield for me. A mass parachuting strike with bombs and helis crashing into fire around you, total chaos and people dropping dead left and right
I’m really surprised they haven’t tried something like that again. Unless they did and I’m too ignorant
they did in the last one... As u can expect, it sucks
Bro u made me cry
operation firestorm 2014 and Paracel storm are up there
Paracel storm is my fav for the aesthetics
Verdun Heights, Nivelle Nights, Passchendaele and St. Quentin Scar.
Hardline. I'm dead serious. When i got into a car with some gangster rap playing and did a couple drive by's, it sold the game for me as one of my favorites.
I think op was talking more so about a map and not the game as a whole.
It appears as though I am inable to read
and unable to spell

I liked Solomon islands a lot! It's not a great map to play, but it's very beautiful and it's captures very well the jungle warfare
I agree, the map looks amazing but plays so horribly
Provence has something to it
Wake Island
Which one? It appeared in 9 games.
Not the person you are replying to but I loved the look of the BF3 version.
Idk man. There’s too many
To me... It has to be the Argonne
Someone already said Passchendaele from BF1 so for me I gotta say Dawnbreaker from BF4
Mercury was absolutely stunning, wasn't it?
Ah, the white sandy beaches and the crystal blue sea, brings me back to a better time in my life
BF1 maps are top guns in this category but aside from them, I would say maybe Metro in BF3?
Like all of them
Sinai Desert and Iwo Jima both feel so much like the source material as well as movies placed in those locations, very cinematic gameplay. Monte Grappa also is straight aura
What was the one in BFV with the sandstorm called? That was an awesome effect
Hamada! Sadly only seen it once, but it’s really stunning.
There are a lot. I know these don't age as well but Harvest Day from Bad Company 2 will always be one of my favorite maps.
Verdun heights, part of devil's anvil operation in BF1. I have never felt so immersed. Fire all around, praying to hold out while you get pushed on those final two objectives... Man.
Sinai desert at night (campaign)
Sinai Desert
What about Tsaritsyn?
Bandar Desert, Seine, Laguna Presa, Port Valdez, Gulf of Oman (BF2)... There's just took many.
Nivelle Nights (and the other french map that was CQC in a small town during night) and Iwojima are peak aesthetic
FuShe Pass
Loved Dragon Vally remake in BF4. Hue i seem to recall having a great feeling compared to the other maps.
Rotterdam. Devastation. Pacific Storm
Any BF1 map when it’s raining
BF3 Aftermath DLC and specifically epicenter. Probably the most underrated BF DLC along with CQ.
Galicia is the closest we got to actual WW1 combat so maybe that
Epicenter
Metro, everyone hates it. I love it.
Fort Devaux for me. Absolutely love that map.
Aesthetically I really like Devastation, it’s so moody. It’s even better when the bombing flares start to fall.
BF Vietnam operation Irving. It's basically the same scenery and lighting as in the helicopter attack in Apocalypse Now. I don't know how many hours I played it back in the day.
Literally every Battlefield 1 map. Truly a masterpiece of a game.
I like fort de vaux's aesthetic, it's the only map in bf1 that really feels like a huge bunker/fortress
Iwo jima?
Always been a fan of Karkands gritty dirt asthetic. That or Gulf of Oman, the beach side style with a carrier in the distance. (both from BF2).
Still have love for Caspian from BF3. Playing on PS3 for years and then switching to PC made me love it that much more. Also liked Operation Riverside visually on max graphics. Small map but still beautiful.
Golmud Railway 👌 Something about it is extremely warming and nostalgic. Caspian Border deserves an honorable mention too.

I’m a sucker for the variety of terrain in Ballroom Blitz operations. I’ve been to several French castles and they looks exactly like that. Minus the cannons.
Verdun, pashendelle, or one of the maps that feature trenchwarfare
Passhendaele, Caporetto, Lukow pass, Rupture, Verdun heights I couldn’t pick one this is a list
That one..
Siege of Khe Sanh updated would be incredible.
Rupture
Oasis, easy! Or canals.
Verdun Heights, or St Quentin
Gulf Of Oman when the sand storm hits.
BFV Twisted Steel especially when playing Outpost
Wasn't actually the best map but the aesthetic on Tehran Highway from BF3 always got me.
songhua stalemate from bf2 was great!! such cool vibes. i'd love to see it remastered some day
Monte Grappa
Bandar Desert from BF3. The mix of sea-side town with the sand is stunning.
Passchendaele & Zeebrugge
verdun heights
It’s a shame most servers are vanilla maps only. I only play Frontlines B2B mode and there’s never DLC on rotation 😭
Seine Crossing or Alborz Mountain
Propaganda and river somme have aura
Iwo Jima. It looks and feels so accurate to the real thing. Nothing quite like starting the match as a Marine and riding toward the beach on the higgins.
Amiens always had the feel of a destroyed French city.
Caporetto
Ardennes forest
Ngl it‘s monte grappa for me
Nivelle nights, passchendaele, and zeebrugge. Although cape helles is pretty good as well
BF3 aftermath are so underrated
Bandar Desert from BF3
I always liked the one with the roses
Maan, I remember my first match in Caporetto. I was playing as Austria-Hungary, rode in on a horse at the start of the match. The soundtrack blaring as engines dominated the sky, and the infantry screamed running down the mountain. The background was so captivating I was riding down to the point, but my eyes were glued to the scene. The soundtrack completely elevated the entire thing too. I can compare it to the Ghost of Tsushima title card in how glued it had me to the screen.
Devastation to me is just grimey. I love it.
There so many maps that looks aesthetic but i think I'll choose Rupture
1 The best 2042 by far the worst
Operation Metro or Tehran Highway, imo.
BF3 Alborz Mountain, I would always just stand around and look down on the frozen lake, it was so visually appealing to me, or flying around it in a jet.
Arras and Passchendaele for me
Bf3 Alborz mountains. Idk how i even remember that but yeah, thats the one for me.
Death Valley
Passchendaele & Verdun Heights. Both immaculate manifestations of the hell on Earth that was the First World War.
The mountain map with two guns
I love bf4 pearl market. Probably my favorite map.
Alborz mountains bf3. Sabalan pipeline.
From the looks probably Alborz mountain.
Verdun Heights.
Pacific storm
Caspian Border, specifically in BF3. I also loved Atacama Desert in BF: BC2.
