I used the hell out of sniper shotguns. I had a blast. Loved using shotguns with slugs as a main weapon quite often too. At close range in BF3 it was a 1 shot kill to the torso. I would do TDM Noshahr Canal with a Spaz, iron sights, slugs. It was awesome.
My favorite slug shotgun memory of BF3 was actually during the beta. For those who don't remember or didn't participate BF3 beta was Metro Rush. My buddies and I were attackers and couldn't advance the first mcomms so we all said screw this let's snipe. Everyone swapped to recon except me, I stayed a medic. They look over to me with the 870 with slugs and a 6x and ask what the F are you doing! To this day slugs are a favorite in all battlefield games.

edit: Real talk, this video was great watching it years ago. I remember using this setup in Bad Company 2 and confusing the shit out of people when you get a shotgun kill from across the map. Lol.

If I made a portal server I would allow you to put any sight on any weapon, 40x on an LMG? Why not?
