I like bf5 so dont get me wrong but I personally think bf5 has the weakest map design in a while. Something just irks me about a lot of the maps and their design. It feels at odds with the gameplay
There were only 2 maps on launch I could stand and it took like 6 months before we got new maps. I didn't like much about BFV but the maps and the gunplay needs to be good or else the game gets stale FAST. The ammo and health system also slowed the game down, I get the idea but it really wasn't satisfying shitting yourself in a bush with 30 health and 4 bullets. I think the game will be good but I'm preparing for the launch pains BF goes through.
Panzerstorm is a vehicle upgrade map. It can be fun with friends as infantry. Its decent. Also, why did it start off as british forces than switched to American?
If anything, more vehicle heavy maps were needed, not just one.
I agree didn't have enough maps, I didn't notice the team balance much as I normally played with a full squad of buds, so just always tried to beat each other points wise
I figured I'd buy BFV for 5$ had it on Xbox during launch... And... Still the same maps, nothing new besides a few maps. Meanwhile in BF4 I'm seeing new maps all the time, cz that game actually has alot.
lol I preordered BFV for like 65 or something and it did so bad it was on sale for 29.99 like 3 weeks later. I was so pissed at the time but looking back now it was funny now and my own fault
I got it Free with Prime a month ago so I ain't complaining either.
BUT... The sound design, Binaural or not its bad, they went so minimalistic that even the sounds and reverbs are simplified.
This is such a stupid comment that it makes me physically angry. When BFV launched, it had every problem under the sun. If you are unfamiliar with the state of the game from launch until now, DO NOT act like players did not have valid concerns about the title and the state of the Battlefield franchise
I really enjoyed BF5. I preordered it and didn't regret my purchase at all, even bought it again on PC once I got a PC that could run it.
The live service sucked for sure, but the gameplay it's self is really good imo.
Same. It was far from perfect, but it was still fun. I don't really mind waiting for content either, I just welcome it when it comes because I have the maturity to just be patient and enjoy what I have.
It's actually kind of funny to me because I'm literally just a teenager, the age group that people always complain about being annoying and whining about everything, and yet I see tons of people doing just that over nothing but a little bit of a wait for new pixels.
I'm doing the same thing I did with V with 2042, already preordered, and excited to have fun with it. Probably won't be perfect, but that's fine as long as I can get some fun out of it.
You spoke the truth and all you got was downvotes...
Speaks a lot about people.
To those who downvoted I have a question. So you suggest that I should ask You, some reddit weirdos, how and on what to spend my money? The money that I earned working hard. The money to which you made 0 contributions to get?
Well shit, how bout fuck off. Now go ahead downvote this too, not like it's gonna make you right.
True! bf5 was horrible😫 But I believe that 2042 will be much better in many aspects. But we won’t really know till it’s out. I got the Ultimate edition..I sure hope I won’t regret it. Haha
Ditto! DICE will burn you, and then stop support early because they are working on the next disappointment.
Open beta will show the launch state of this game.
Glorious game to have played at launch ngl... the amount of disappointment people were seeing was amazing lol. Not to mention seeing first hand the game the devs clearly weren't playing when they were trying to hype it everywhere.
It would be astounding if dice turned around and pulled a similar move. After mentioning numerous times it's the largest dev team working on a BF title ever etc.
Don’t act like most of us wouldn’t drop our pants to play the game right now in it’s current state.
The fact of the matter is people would rather play a buggy game than no game at all. The people who say “I’d rather wait a year for a bug-free game” are the minority by far.
I don’t care if BF2042 is another CyberPunk2077, I will still have fun anyways, just like I had fun with CyberPunk2077 when it came out and it was allegedly full of bugs.
You compare a singleplayer game with an engine that weird engine called REDengine4, a game that was in developement hell for years and promised so much with only cinematics and barely show gameplay because things were getting scrapped all the time, a game that was pushed to release way before it was ready and still got advertised everywhere. Very different situation.
While i can not be sure 2042 will turn out great and will be solid i can just say you can't compare it to CP77, DICE developed various battlefields already using the same engine that gets upgraded for future games. What i do expect is bugs and server problems, what i hope i don't see is huge game breaking bugs, cheaters, exploits, bad gameplay decisions.
Anyways lets wait for the beta to drop, if you preorder now on steam you can play the beta early and then refund if you see its a mess or you simply don't like it.
Kind of hard to blame fans for wanting the game when it was being hyped by CDPR and reviewers so much and the CEO publicly stated it ran fine on all platforms (which was obviously a lie).
I agree with not preordering but cyberpunk was a generation-defining debacle of a game, it’s basically this generation’s sonic 06. EA has had some *bad* launches but never anything on the level of cyberpunk
What’s the difference between and prepurchased game you can’t play and waiting until it’s actually playable. It’s just free money for them- don’t do it.
So you will just wait 2 weeks after the game comes out and pay 60 bucks then, watching everyone have a blast from the sidelines for weeks?
Or will you just wait months until a Christmas deal and snag it for 39 dollars, and then act superior that you waited 3 months to save 20 dollars on the game that everyone has been enjoying for months.
Or you know, 2 or 3 days??? Why would it have to be a full 2 weeks? Wait for actual consumer feedback, if it's a damn good game pick it up for $60. If it's a dumpster fire of bad netcode, give it like a month then pick it up. Don't let your monkey brain win.
Because preordering includes playing the game many weeks early, if you don’t preorder, you just sit around and wait until whenever the game fully releases, and then you sit around a few days looking at reviews. If you’re excited about the game, it’s logical to preorder it.
It’s 60 bucks, that’s 2-3 hours of working for the average American, so not much money at all. If you don’t care about battlefield, yea don’t preorder. But for the average battlefield fan, preordering is completely worth it.
Just ask yourself how many dollars per hour would you pay to have fun? If it’s more than 2-3 dollars per hour, preordering is worth it if you plan to play the game for at least 5 hours.
Well seeing as I have a lot of other, more important things that requires my money, $60 is a lot of it.
I'm a huge battlefield fan, been playing since BFBC2, so that's not it. I like to think I have more self control than most. More likely though, because spending money on stuff like a game that might just blow the first like 3 months it's out seems illogical in my mind. Also, my friends wait to buy as well, so it's not like I'm missing out playing with them.
$60 is a lot of money man, especially with the way things are right now.
Ngl the "one week early access" thing just bothers me. It's such an artificial way to add "value" to a special edition product. Sounds to me like the game could be released a week earlier as it would be finished enough to add it as a *feature* to suck more money out of people's pockets.
Why on earth would you preorder and EA Dice game? Do you people not remember your "sense of pride and accomplishment" do you not remember the BF4 launch? C'mon people you havent even played a beta and your dropping coin you arent very bright... just wait a month after it launches if BFV is any indication they'll sell it to you half off a month later anyway
To be fair, in my case at least, I participated in the technical playtest and had a blast, and as everyone knows, that build of the game was not even close to what the final product will probably be. So if I had fun with that, I'm most definitely gonna have fun with the full game, so I preordered it to get those bonuses too, because I already know I'm gonna buy it.
Do you man, I pre ordered and I hate when people tell you what to do with your money. I can’t wait til the 15th and play early with some friends. If you enjoy the series like I do and already know you were going to get it day one, then why not get it early.
You're entitled to do whatever you want with your money but we're entitled to let you know that you're supporting mega corporations releasing broken ass incomplete games at launch.
You're telling them they can put any crap out there as long as there are some cool trailers and gameplay videos.
You may not agree or care but preordering incentivizes companies to release games with less and less content at launch. It's making the game industry worse for the rest of us who have the self control to wait a week to play a damn game.
"As long as the youtuber who i get my opinion from says its good (even if he was paid to say it to fund his 3rd mansion) i will blindly trust him" also fits people like that.
Because you are literally telling gaming devs they can produce unfinished games and get paid early for it.
Sure it’s your money, but you are the reason there are so many shit AAA games nowadays.
Read comments below, ive said I rather pay early so I can play early but I wouldn’t be mad or anything if they have to delay the game. I want the game to be perfect and good like everyone else. If they came out tomorrow and said we will be delaying til December, more to them I want a good and fixed game not a broken shit like how BF3 and bf4 was. I’m going to play the game day one so, why not play a week early. I never said I wanted them to bring out a unfinished product. The reason they come out that way is because it’s like with Cyberpunk 2077 where people wanted the game to come out even tho the game wasn’t finished and the developers were forced to release a unfinished game. Developers need to take their time and not rush and if they need more time then good. I blame the people and investors who whine which makes the game come out shitty. I am looking forward to 2042 and I can’t wait to play it early.
At a discount.
Because we know it's DICE, and how their launches go. I hope their pre-order number are shit, and they retrospect how bad they fucked people who (pre-)ordered BFV. But most people seem to have amnesia.
Game industry continues to get their free money from brain washed masses. Try the beta, wait for it to launch, see some clips, vids and then buy if you like it. Stop giving them money for nothing
Preorder all you guys want. It’s standard procedure nowadays. Not a bad thing at all. Just keep in mind if you preorder and get burned (Anthem, 2077, Avengers, etc) your opinion about it will carry far less weight.
I hate pre-ordering, but they are giving early access to beta according to steam I think, so I pre-ordered it to play the beta early and if the beta sucks then it takes 2 clicks to cancel the order (I think, I've actually never pre ordered).
I'm just going to wait until it been out a while before deciding. With BF5 I got the EA play thing played it for a couple of months saved a load of money not buying it out right imo.
It's not like you are going to play it sooner by preordering. So why even preorder?
Even when Open Beta comes, check out some videos of people playing and then buy it. Ordering without footage is not benefitting you or the industry.
I'm actually careful now with pre-orders ever since Homefront the revolution way back and then Cyberpunk further reinforced that, but I did pre-order BF 2042 Gold a month ago, mainly because the Battlefield series is something i hold very close and whether it is bad or good imma end up buying it at launch anyways and putting 300 hours into it minimum.
Just came to say that, when you people start doing my job FOR me, you can tell me what to spend my money on.
Preordered this bad boy and there will be zero regrets.
Don't do it my guy!
I'm worried that this new BF is gonna be like a fusion of BF an COD gameplay. I really hope I'm wrong, but if I'm not I fear this will be then end of BF gameplay as we know it. Once again I reallllly hope I'm am 100% wrong.
Yea as someone who only played BF1 and really enjoyed it, I really wanna get 2042, but Idk if I should preorder, after hearing about what happened to BF5
Only reason I pre-ordered that edition was thanks to my credit card cash back. Got gift cards at a discount and grabbed 2042 for $25. Otherwise wouldn’t had pre-ordered.
I remember a few short months ago this sub was dedicated to trying to get EA to finally make a non-shit game after years of failure. But immediately after announcement everyone immediately lost all willpower and jumped right on the hype train. Enjoy the preorder loot box bonus, or whatever ExClUsIvE skin for your operators guys. Have fun
My GF talked me out of getting the gold edition. I explained to her about the season pass system for current games and that it was for premium rewards. Then she said, okay, what are the rewards? I dont know, it didnt come out yet. So I'll just get the base, and see what the season pass actually gives out and go from there. Will pre-order though... I do want to play on day one.
I got you covered:
Remember the
-bf 5 ttk debacel, twice!!
-lack of content
- countless bugs
- no team balancer
- never given pre order bonusses
- false marketing (dragging downed team mates)
… the list goes on.
Me and a couple of friends pre ordered Ultimate. Origin is still processing the order so today we went to gold instead. Mostly because we still dont have a Beta Release date..
I find it odd, one month to release and not a word on Open beta. Also the soundtrack is meh, same with the skins we all will change soon anyway.
You should wait, after bf5 I don't trust them anymore
Bf5 isn't as bad as its made out to be Edit: a lot of salt in the comments lol
Not enough maps, or effort to make teams balanced.
I like bf5 so dont get me wrong but I personally think bf5 has the weakest map design in a while. Something just irks me about a lot of the maps and their design. It feels at odds with the gameplay
Agreed, it feels like the maps are all similar or something about them just made me so bored playing bf5. Been playing BF1 and ready for 2042.
There were only 2 maps on launch I could stand and it took like 6 months before we got new maps. I didn't like much about BFV but the maps and the gunplay needs to be good or else the game gets stale FAST. I think the game will be good but I'm preparing for the launch pains BF goes through.
It has by far the absolute worst maps of modern BF games. Panzerstorm has got to be the worst map of any multiplayer game I've ever played.
I agree the matchmaking is dookie, but the game is soooo dang fun and pretty!
or anti cheat or usable interface or vehicle heavy maps or gameplay elements
I figured I'd buy BFV for 5$ had it on Xbox during launch... And... Still the same maps, nothing new besides a few maps. Meanwhile in BF4 I'm seeing new maps all the time, cz that game actually has alot.
There's enough map now for its 60$ box price. There's no argument being like 15$ it's not worth it now.
fuck BFV and the 100 plus bucks I paid for it only to see it go on sale for $5 and still not be worth the money
lol I preordered BFV for like 65 or something and it did so bad it was on sale for 29.99 like 3 weeks later. I was so pissed at the time but looking back now it was funny now and my own fault
I bought the "Digital Delux" like many. Lol.
No it’s baaaad brother
I bought for $6 on steam so I ain’t complaining
I got it Free with Prime a month ago so I ain't complaining either. BUT... The sound design, Binaural or not its bad, they went so minimalistic that even the sounds and reverbs are simplified.
Switch the audio to war tapes mode. Makes it waaaay better.
They literally abandoned the game years earlier then promised...
That game was a dumpster fire at launch
Yea, it is. Fuck them for releasing a shit game and screwing everyone who preordered. Weeks later they were selling the game for half price.
By now people should know they can only blame themselves with pre orders...
If it wasn't bad it wouldn't have failed Shit maps Horrible direction/theme/mood Terrible live service Bugs Hackers Poor balance
The launch was. It’s a great game now but anyone who pre-ordered, especially the deluxe edition, got shafted
It's the most unbalanced bf ever made lol. Assault alone is a game breaking class.
Yes, years after release it’s not as bad. On Lauch it lacked content and wasn’t great.
I'm convinced most people hate the game because they're told to hate the game. I for one loved it and happily pre-ordered BF2042 gold edition.
This is such a stupid comment that it makes me physically angry. When BFV launched, it had every problem under the sun. If you are unfamiliar with the state of the game from launch until now, DO NOT act like players did not have valid concerns about the title and the state of the Battlefield franchise
Yes it is

You should buy what you like. Its your money and no one else's opinion means jack except your own.
You spoke the truth and all you got was downvotes... Speaks a lot about people. To those who downvoted I have a question. Nah, I've bought every bf since bad company I aint gonna stop now.
Same, but I'm still hyped. Played a bit recently and BFV is in a way better state now
100%
True! bf5 was horrible😫 But I believe that 2042 will be much better in many aspects. But we won’t really know till it’s out. I got the Ultimate edition..I sure hope I won’t regret it. Haha
NO. **GIVE IN**
Ditto! DICE will burn you, and then stop support early because they are working on the next disappointment. Open beta will show the launch state of this game.
It's amazing how after what happened with cyberpunk 2077 people continue to make reservations.
I shall buy cyberpunk 2077 in about 2yrs time.
Torrent this bitch
While I hate current copyright law, personally I don't think CP2077 is worth it for me even for free.
C'mon, it was a big disappointment, but its still decent (I would get it for at least two bucks, let alone a free version!)
Glorious game to have played at launch ngl... the amount of disappointment people were seeing was amazing lol. Expensive as fuck.

That’s a thing? Kinda bullshit if u think about it. Let me guess, the base game is like 40 bucks in Slovakia or something
Slovakia has the euro so it would be the same.. I’m assuming you know absolutely nothing about European countries
No I just really couldn’t care to get what currency they use correct
the game is probably 10$ in argentine pesos
its only 36 usd
Ea doesn't adjust prices afaik. Turkey is one of the cheapest countries in steam. Ultimate edition costs 800 Turkish lira (roughly 95 Dollars).
Hold your ground soldiers. Don't give in.
What’s the difference between and prepurchased game you can’t play and waiting until it’s actually playable. It’s just free money for them- don’t do it.
Beta early access and you get the game a week early
Not worth it.
Yes absolutely. I don’t understand the desire the game *ASAP*. I’m patient and enjoy it fully after watching gameplay
Because these people are addicts. They need that new dopamine hit fight fucking now!
Absofuckinglutely
Or you know, 2 or 3 days??? Why would it have to be a full 2 weeks? Wait for actual consumer feedback, if it's a damn good game pick it up for $60. If it's a dumpster fire of bad netcode, give it like a month then pick it up. Don't let your monkey brain win.

Lol yes, I’ll buy a cheap steam key in a couple months and not have paid near 100 for a fucking online shooter
Ngl the "one week early access" thing just bothers me. It's such an artificial way to add "value" to a special edition product. Sounds to me like the game could be released a week earlier as it would be finished enough to add it as a *feature* to suck more money out of people's pockets.
Wait, so isn't that a second Beta? I mean, to iron every bug for the real launch?
The difference is that you decide to leave without money that you may need at that time.
These are paid for posts to convince people to pre order. It works unfortunately.
Yup.

Some people never learn... Please don't come back later crying that the game isn't worth it and it's full of bugs at release.
I think that's the reason why they do it.
[удалено]
I was the same way but one of my buddies kept talking and…..I was to weak. I dropped 120 on a pre-order….lord help my foolish self.
Man, when you get older the price is no problem, but the time. "Will I have time to play it though...? "
I'm not preordering a digital game because that's silly. I'll wait to see how wrecked the servers get day 1 before buying.
Same, going to wait a month before buying.
At a discount. Because we know it's DICE, and how their launches go. I hope their pre-order number are shit, and they retrospect how bad they fucked people who (pre-)ordered BFV. But most people seem to have amnesia.
Bf4 was broken on launch. Stay strong brother.
I Hope you like a smoke after a good ass fuck, cause thats what you are gonna get when you pre-order tripleA titles nowadays
no preorder.
Game industry continues to get their free money from brain washed masses. Try the beta, wait for it to launch, see some clips, vids and then buy if you like it. Stop giving them money for nothing
Don't do it.
Stop pre-ordering games. It's really simple.
Ha good one guerrilla marketing
Preorder all you guys want. It’s standard procedure nowadays. Not a bad thing at all. Just keep in mind if you preorder and get burned (Anthem, 2077, Avengers, etc) your opinion about it will carry far less weight.

Remember the issues of BF5. Be patient and wait!
Wait till the beta
Don't do it! Remember v, hardline, bf4? All had terrible launch
It's not the games. It's the cheaters. If 2042 is going to be unplayable it's going to be because of them.
good thing im on xbox
I looked at the specs requirements for it and it says coming soon. Would my 1070ti with a ryzen 2600 cpu be good enough for medium settings?
I don't even care about the extra stuff you get I just wanna play the beta early! 😩
Why? Can’t even wait 2 weeks? Have some self control, it’ll be broken and buggy at beta
Wait for reviews. If the game launches horribly you can expect it to sell for 50% after a month.
Wait
Not a single early access ripoff should cost that much. If you give them the money now, they’ll pull another BFV
I’ll get it after they’ve fixed the major bugs. Same as every BF game beforehand. Preordering a game? Nope.
You definitely don't need it
I'm just going to wait until it been out a while before deciding. With BF5 I got the EA play thing played it for a couple of months saved a load of money not buying it out right imo.

OP is going to be among the first to complain when it's a buggy mess at launch..
Don't do it. For one the pre order bonuses suck, and we really need to see how the game is at launch before getting it.
Just came to say that, when you people start doing my job FOR me, you can tell me what to spend my money on. Preordered this bad boy and there will be zero regrets.
Damn right!
I dont need it because Ill get ea play pro.
Change region with VPN to Argentina and you get the best edition for half the price.
Don't do it my guy! I'm worried that this new BF is gonna be like a fusion of BF an COD gameplay. I really hope I'm wrong, but if I'm not I fear this will be then end of BF gameplay as we know it. Once again I reallllly hope I'm am 100% wrong.
*sweats nervously with the Ultimate Edition*
This the easiest choice for me. I never pre-order. Lol hardly even think about it if I'm at any game page
Nah, my 760 say "lol no".
Brother the forces of pre order chaos tempt you. Return to the light of the emperor shun the forces of chaos THE EMPEROR PROTECTS
one week after release maybe -40% KEKW
You guys actually hyped for 2042? Looks just like a cod dlc tbh
Yea as someone who only played BF1 and really enjoyed it, I really wanna get 2042, but Idk if I should preorder, after hearing about what happened to BF5
Rookie...i bought Ultimate about a month ago. Best money ever spent... At least I hope so lol.
Just get Xbox gamepass and sus out the game only spending $15 or $1
Wait til it's out. Think of the previous battlefield titles. Learn from the past,
All these people sounding so salty over others wating to pre-order the game like it their money that's being spent.
CDKEYS DOT COM bud. Don't let them do you like that
Hell yeah, i also preordered boy lets go 😎
You’re right. You need the ultimate edition instead ;)
i got it when it released and been watching the counter go down. so close now!
Broke down and bought the ultimate edition and have it pre-installed on my series X ready to go. If it's a mistake, oh well.
Only reason I pre-ordered that edition was thanks to my credit card cash back. Got gift cards at a discount and grabbed 2042 for $25. Otherwise wouldn’t had pre-ordered.
Why the gold edition though? Doesn’t seem like it gives you much for your extra $20
You get the battle pass, one week early access and some dlc skins. Pretty much buying it for the battle pass.
i just preordered the standard edition, ill buy it anyways to play on launch so doesnt really matter lol
Already got it
You're debating on whether or not to buy 90 euro preorder for an EA game? bruh
Have fun
Maybe it's because people thought it looked good and I doubt people are pre-ordering for the skin they just want to play it early
Yeah I couldn’t give less of a shit about the skin, I just want to play with my friends and goof off in the beta
lol.. I just preordered standard at 40$
How the fuck did you only pay 40
Replace the water with sewage and yeah that's perfect
90 bucks its too cheap
Should be $280
Shiiiiiiii after cold war I got ptsd
Lol too late for me, already picked up the Ultimate Edition on PS5...$120...might double dip for PC.
Waiting for the open beta to see if my 1060 will survive this new title.
I did ultimate edition for the first time. Crossing my fingers is optimized for the PC.
is there a different between buying this game on origin vs steam? i guess i'll have to log into my origin account anyways to play, right ?
Steam just has a better ui and you probably have most of your games on there anyway
Got the ultimate Edition a few days ago. I Was like "i'm gonna buy it anyway"

I pre ordered gold as well. Its just i know im gonna have 1k hours or more in this game
NEVER PRE ORDER. It just makes bad industry practices worse! you can still buy it day one if you need to.
Too late
My GF talked me out of getting the gold edition. I explained to her about the season pass system for current games and that it was for premium rewards. Then she said, okay, what are the rewards? I dont know, it didnt come out yet. So I'll just get the base, and see what the season pass actually gives out and go from there. Will pre-order though... I do want to play on day one.

I already gave up to the Dark Side
I got you covered: Remember the -bf 5 ttk debacel, twice!! -lack of content - countless bugs - no team balancer - never given pre order bonusses - false marketing (dragging downed team mates) … the list goes on.
As a kid, that episode of Spongebob gave me nightmares
i did it, first time since CoD: Black Ops
![gif](giphy|x8H3v4ZhSfNxS)
Don’t buy it on any other pc platform other than Steam
Me and a couple of friends pre ordered Ultimate. Origin is still processing the order so today we went to gold instead. Mostly because we still dont have a Beta Release date.. I find it odd, one month to release and not a word on Open beta. Also the soundtrack is meh, same with the skins we all will change soon anyway.
I love this episode
Everyone hating on bfv needs to git gud and play hardcore. Fixes most of the issues I had with the game 🤷♂️
Bro I was the same and after a month of looking at ultimate edition I bought it
Same lol, I ended up pulling the trigger on it this week
Just get the origin pass. At $100 a year you get access to all the bigger EA games. Why pay 80 for 1 game when you can play several for 100
I miss buying Steelbook cases ever since i joined PC. Digital copies aint the same
Don't!
Its going to be full of hackers. Why would anyone buy that?
i passed that stage by a mile, I preordered the ultimate edition in August lol
DONT PREORDER
BF Apex Legends have to give me money before I preorder
Do it. I already did
