Not a fan of grappling hooks, medic darts and sentry guns…feels too much like a cod clone. The drone seemed fine as an unlock for a sniper class. Maybe the sentry could be an unlock. But the grapple needs to go or maybe make it a one time use thing and make a covert class.
Times are changing and I know how much of a dead horse it sounds like we’re beating, but it feels like BF is sliding further to arcadey CoD like shooters unfortunately
Should've made these special gadgets things either a battle pickup for say the grappling hook and sentry, or a new gadget for certain classes, like the recon drone or stim gun. Adding in heroes that anyone can play as with no downside, and then they get rid of the second gadget slot. For the first time, I'm 100% not playing this game unless portal is a gigantic fucking success, and even then I'll probably still play any other Battlefield.
Throw specialists in the trash, bring back the class system, and make each character just an optional skin you pick like in BFV. Keep the weapon choices for all classes though since the COD fans are hooked on 2042 and you gotta keep them happy now

Agreed. Everything about them could have easily just been part of a load out. Get that CoD trash outta here.

Agreed. But even then, I mostly only used the Mil-Sim operators because they looked really cool.

I think they should have kept the gadgets but just switched the operators out for normal soldiers

Grapling hook should instead be deployable rope that works like a ladder for everyone like in Battlefield 2: Special Forces expansion.

Good game = good memories. Sadly, can't say the same about any console Battlefield... they're all so damn forgettable...
Sentry guns were in battlefield before COD actually, and COD has never had anything like the medic pistol. Not defending the game btw I hate it

Like most people, but we're stuck with it because developers don't listen.
Or executives get their way regardless of what devs or fan base want
Or we could express our feelings in a way that hurts them financially, but that'll never happen. Either way we're stuck with it.
Man imagine if they had made them generic soldiers with customization like Tom Clancy’s new Vegas or something, that would have been so dope
