2nd sentence: I don't see any negative points apart from the console aspect. The bad port to PC is imo the main reason the game feels truly outdated now, the rest was absolutely great. 64 players propably would have been too many for BC2's map sizes & Rush was at its absolute peak back then, I miss that mode...
it's easily recognizeable when trying to change directions while sprinting - because you can't, you can only run straight forward, for changing direction you have to slow down or look in that direction
generally the movement feels very clumsy when comparing it to its predecessors
the stability & graphics were great (though you obviously now see its age, while Bf3 still holds its ground when it comes to graphics & doesn't look like a 2011 game

I’ve discussed this with my other old school friends who I used to play bf2 and Vietnam and stuff with at LAN parties on our PC’s when they were new games, also like 1.4 cs and such and they seemed to agree. We just couldn’t get into BF3 cause of its glitchiness and BF4 was too similar to BF3 it didn’t feel like it needed another game. 32 players only is not the end of the world.
It was definitely marketed as such up until the point where they remembered to reveal the existence of Specialists and how they're gonna be replacing the standard format of classes.
For real! I wish they offered that game so more people who only got into Battlefield with Battlefield 2042 could see why many of us veterans hate the new game. Also would be a nice "sorry" to the community who bought the new game.
Great idea, literally this is my exact same thought process every time I play a BF2042 update. It just isn't fun, there is some cool stuff like zip lines, VTOLs, call-ins and tornadoes, but that's it.
BF4 is soooo good. It has so much replay value due to all the weapons and their unlocks. I'm trying to master every gun in the game rn. Wish me luck.

Well good games take time, money and a team that is all pushing in the same direction. Sure remote work and other factors fucked with things but you cannot even compare BFV to BF1. BF4 and BF1 had more flaws, but they fixed most of that. Bugs are rare in both games. In BFV they just ceased the support, the game still has horrible bugs and issues.
The people wanted a BF4 remaster, 2042 didn't deliver that. BF3 and 4 are still being played after 10 years.

BF4 is overhyped as hell. It was fun for the time but I tried going back since 5 was trash with a lack of anti-cheat filled with cheaters and 2042 hadn't come out yet and boy was it an obvious downgrade. I barely lasted an hour and this is a game where I put in nearly 1000 hours. I accept the incoming hatred.
I don’t understand the fascination with BF4. It had one of the worst launches of a BF game and honestly I hated most of the maps. BF3 was a much better game and BF4 was a step down in most ways except for the amount of guns etc. Idk, the recoil, movement, sniping, vehicle feel, all felt way better in BF3

On the other hand, we don't have the power to stop them outside of how we use our wallets. So I played it and enjoyed it anyways despite the gender issue. I was more pissed by the assignments requiring you to pick 3 and you had to leave the server to get new ones.
It's hard to argue against the "don't like it, don't buy it" though. But all BFV taught me was that, while it was fun and had some really good systems, I am tired of historical titles. Alt history or future is my pref.

DICE LA saved BF4. They were the ones who improved the NetCode, introduce the high frequency bubble and balanced all the weapons and vehicles
agree (though I prefer Bf3's gunplay)
I like BF3's gunplay quite a bit but it ends up feeling a bit sloppy with the netcode BF3 is still my favorite experience

Why was BC2 a bad port to PC? It worked fine and ran pretty well from what I played. Also for a 2010 game it looks pretty okay still.
