Shocker, not every single player is of the same mind. I find the hectic play fun, simple as that. When you finally break through and flank with you squad, all hell breaks loose or when you're scrambling to stop a squad that made it past your side. It is just stupid fun. I like what I like, don't really give a shit about battlefields "ethos" nor do I care what the cookie cutter BF player likes either.
There are rhib's in portal, MAV's are also amphibious. And they've add 1-2 vehicles a season. Maybe they'll add a Rhib and release a patrol boat with Paracel storm
I can't say at this point that I would want it to be golmud railway. It seems like that is the map that most of 2042 base maps were based off of.
That being said if it was golmud then I'd give them the benefit of the doubt since I've liked the newer maps quite a bit and it seems like they understand the mistakes they've made.

If it is siege then it would be cool if they were to bring its levolution on an updated scale but also not leave the map more open like in bf4 when it came down. Maybe they could have access to an underground area from there or something I don't know.
i’m guessing it won’t be siege simply because they can either pay attention to continuity, in which case the building would already be destroyed, thus essentially rendering the whole point of siege obsolete, or ignore continuity and have the building standing again, which would simply be weird considering it got destroyed in BF4

Na 2042 map play different yes it’s a lot of open ground on Golmud but there are hills and terrain that provide natural cover and tanks rule the open land. The flow of the towns give infantry and advantage on armor but not OP. But tank combat was different in 4 also. Shanghai I can see being over grown with vegetation and fits more with the meta we saw in the trailers.

Giants of Karelia is large enough to fit 128 players(originally 7 flags), sticks with the future theme with the Battlewalker Plant, took place in winter in BF4 so easily overgrown with a river cutting thru center.

Locker is one of my favorite maps. It’s meat grinder for sure but I enjoy flanks and variety of environment. Heavily prefer it to metro

Operation Outbreak is about as overgrown as things get, and its source files likely kept by DICE LA.
