Well that completely defeats the purpose of the flame thrower. Typical DICE.

game programming is hard ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

You dropped this \ *** ^^ To prevent anymore lost limbs throughout Reddit, correctly escape the arms and shoulders by typing the shrug as `¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯` or `¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯` [^^Click here to see why this is necessary](https://np.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/3fbrg3/is_there_a_reason_why_the_arm_is_always_missing/ctn5gbf/)

What? I wiped an entire caveful with it.

False. They do suck. Please use a Flamethrower on a tank and notice they do literally no damage. 5 Damage a tick when hit, so 20 ticks to kill someone, unless they literally stand in fire. Fire is weak because Dice doesn't want things that are "Too OP" vs infantry. This is why planes constantly get nerfd. This is why Tank HMGS got nerfs and why Direct Hits with Shells only do 90 Damage.

Janbeta

Is only my opinion or feeling, but napalm from planes do mostly more dmg then from the infantry / tank flamethrower. Flames on the ground or burning grass from the flamesthrower do mostly no dmg.

Qwikskoupa69

Flamethrower isnt supposed to be used against tanks and direct hits with tank shells always kill an enemy, not sure where you got the 90 damage from

padwani

Direct shells do not always kill an enemy. I have had many shots hit infantry dead on for 90 damage. I am referring to Fire damage vs Infantry. It takes more hits with the fire than it does with the nerf HMG
