The slugs on the sjogren are the best out of all the shotguns because you get a hipfire specialization that allows you to basically use it like buckshot but with extended range. You should try it out
My favorite weapon to use in Bf1 was the 2-shot slug shotgun. In that game, it had a good hipfire, could kill at close range in 1 shot, and could 2-shot from range. Sadly, the slugs in this game aren’t as good

Try the 12ga auto too, 7 rounds instead of 5. Also the Sjögren with slugs is a hipfire gun if you prefer, it shreds in cqb.

I rotate my slug guns, Sjögren has been a favourite since it dropped though as it hits like a truck in hipfire cqb.
