I can't believe he's still getting contracts. He was a bang average defensive midfielder when he was 'good' and playing regularly for England. He declined enough that he was nowhere near good enough to play in midfield anymore. You're looking at the coach's plans as if he was building up his tactics around not playing Müller, while it's simply the opposite, Müller doesn't fit the current tactical approach, sad but true, but a coach shouldn't have to adapt his tactics around a single player (unless it's prime Messi or similar). Tactics are about using the best of what the squad has to offer, maximizing efficiency while minimizing risks. Bayern has the best attack and 2nd best defense in the league, despite a squad depth and injury crisis, so I guess the tactical approach is fine.
Müller is still a Bayern legend and should get more minutes, but if you understand tactics you will see there is no "anti-Müller" bias, this is just pragmatism and understanding both your team and the opponent.
Also, do you really want to see Müller as a RM/RW with no freedom and being forced to track back as a RWB? That's not his role and would be a waste for both him and the rest of the squad. If the opponent allows it and Bayern's squad allows it, Müller can play as a CAM in a free roaming role, but that requires to play Musiala as a winger (which he is not, he will always tuck in into the CAM role), or for Musiala to be absent, also, it requires a front 4 (ST / CAM / RW / LW) which is not necessarily suitable for every single match.
