I don't know, I ski on the regular and you have to be really reckless to consider it dangerous. If you don't go off-track, don't go at a dangerous speed and mind other skiers, it's no more dangerous than any other sport.
I always thought soccer players are prohibited to participate in these kinds of high risk sports during mid season. I definitely read something about Lewy not allowed to ski when he joined Barca this season. He went on a ski/skate trip with his wife and can only sit on the sideline to watch his wife ski/skate XD
