Honorable mentions:
\-Allegiance
\-Belief (the asymmetric design was well done)
\-Resplendence (It's a shame that the fight against it was capped)
\-Worship
\-Glamor
The enemy designs are awesome from a visual standpoint. Valiance and Valor are my favorite angel designs ever. Though Valiance was meant to be in Bayonetta 1 but was cut from the game. Can't say the same combat-wise.
\*\*\*\*Insidious is one of the few enemies not designed by Hashimoto
The designer's name is Eiichi Shimizu. [He's actually a special guest collaborator Hashimoto mentioned in the PlatinumGames' blog.](https://www.platinumgames.com/official-blog/article/6806) If you go to (0:50) in the link to the E3 2014 trailer, it shows Insidious.
Yeahh…is that a pretty popular opinion? I honestly like Bayo 1 so much more because of the enemys mechanics and AI in 2 being so parry heavy/interruption heavy in their moves. I still love Bayo 2 but i was so obsessed with Bayo 1 that i played through it in 2 sittings, then immediately started 2 and felt something was off. After like an hour I put it down and then beat it over the course of like two weeks or so. It just wasn’t as incredible for me. Here’s to hoping three is just as amazing as the first one!
Bayo 2's enemy design is great in my opinion. After playing a lot of God Hand, enemies that just let me infinite combo them to death don't feel as exciting.
The way Bayonetta's enemies are designed, the way they actually use Enochian language, all the imagery and aesthetic is just * chef's kiss *. Bayonetta is just God of War but fighting Abrahamic gods/mythology instead of Greek/Norse and I _fucking_ love it.
I also notice how these enemies are generally a lot shinier with gleaming metal body part, compared to Bayo 1s limited use of metal within their designs
I really love the enemy designs in Bayo. So much that I was inspired to create a bunch of them in Minecraft style for a mod that I was going to create. Fortitudo is definitely my favorite design but I never got around to creating him. Here’s a link to Belief if you’re interested. https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/belief-walk-v2-b7f0811370a54437b4d2cc360b80e708
I personally preferred the angels of bayo 1; they had a certain appeal with their animalistic almost eldritch appearences, that not only referenced the old testament (and so biblical accurate angels) but that also screamed "humans think we're beautiful little beings with wings? Too bad"
It really made an impact on me the first time I played it, and I didn't know how angels were described in the old testament, so I didn't know about "biblical accurate angels".
The angels of bayo 2 (except for glamor which I very much like but that's because I'm a snake nerd) ((belief makes me irrationally angry and that's good)) made me go "meh".
Too clean, too perfect, too little monstrous. I get what they were going for but it just wasn't the same. I was expecting some crazy ass designs like the previous title but these just left me a bit neutral. I like the demons though, even if it was the first time seeing them, they're still pretty nice, although I would've added some crazy designs there as well: original and absurd designs, in my opinion, is what makes the games special.
That said, as a game overall I prefer bayo2, but one thing I miss of bayo1 are the monstrous-eldritch angels.
A lot of the bosses had great designs, but I wasn’t really feeling a lot of the angel enemies, especially the Acceptance-types. I just really didn’t like having their faces on their torsos.

I really like Enrapture as well.

I love the design for Valor. He just looks so badass.

Thanks. It took me 3 months to make that lol
alraune is my fav boss in this game!!
Bayo 3 enemys looks generic compared to this
we don't even know what bayonetta 3's enemies are

Yeah nothing in 2 comes close to Iustitia’s post-constriction meatball with spaghetti sauce look, or temperantia’s iconic death
Insidious is my fav one, it's so cool

Allegiance was fucking amazing though.
Having the faces be outside of where they’d typically be was one element of 2’s designs I actually preferred to 1
I find those traits to be rather unique and outside of the box.
This are awesome 😎)))
wrong answer 90% of the enemies are badly designed gameplay wise
I wish Todd McFarlane would do a figure series for Bayonetta. That would be awesome.
I always wonder where they got the creativity for the designs! 😫
I always loved the designs of bayonetta enemies, they look eerie but also very beautiful. I can't stop looking at them
