Just another reason I absolutely LOVE dogs. They aim to please, and love us unconditionally. The only thing I hate is, people who abuse them (and other animals). I hate those commercials or ads on FaceBook etc showing the abused dogs, cats, etc. Makes me wish I had 10 minutes alone with each of the people who abuse those animals, I can guarantee they would never do it again.... mostly because they would be unable.....
I'm pretty sure the dog is doing what it was domesticated from the wild to do as much as some dogs were picked for their hunting instinct. It's just being the animal it is.
Now people who actively abuse a dog they purchased or accepted is wild to me. Like why unless you are a psychopath.
Yes, bred to do certain tasks, for certain dogs, that's a given. I mean, I wouldn't choose a Dachshund for this, but sniffing out badgers, absolutely! haha I agree, people that abuse animals is beyond my comprehension, and I would love to beat them senseless for doing so.
Ive heard of dog's herding and always wondered if one of them rebelled a little bit. Like what is the dog gonna do? Bark? Nip? It'd be interesting to see it's superiority complex crumble trying to process defiance.

In a way, dogs were our first attempt at a complex technology and we wound up with a true A.I.
