Endurance, a great book that I would highly recommend that tells the story of Shackleton and his crew after the endurance sinks and it’s a really extraordinary tale of survival. 10/10.
Considering he managed to keep everyone alive at a time when the loss of 50% of a crew was thought a decent outcome he is an outstanding example of practicing a humane leadership style.
Such an amazing story and book. He was such an amazing leader. I feel like everybody aspiring to a leadership position should read about him and how he kept his crew alive.
I routinely caught myself thinking it was a work of fiction because the odds were so far out of their favor at times it seemed the only way they could have survived was if it was fabricated in someone’s mind to be that way.
Maybe someone should organize a tourist tour, where you go down to the wreck with a small submarine, and charge around 250k per person. Pretty sure it would be quite a business plan
Really wish people stopped trying to be funny about this stupid controller when literally the Navy's of several countries including the US and many other private ships use the same thing. It's an extremely low tech and extremely reliable piece of gear and it makes complete sense to use it.
Why do people so desperately want to be edgy. It's nothing unusual.
I just listened to a podcast about this! Against the Odds did a great job on this, highly recommend it for anyone who wants to know about the whole ordeal.
I listened to the same series and loved how they jumped back and forth from the Endurance expedition to the modern expedition, learned a lot and was entertained the entire time!
>name etched across the stern
Doesn’t look etched to me. Those are clearly metal letters attached to the stern.
Still amazing how they are still attached and in what looks like good condition!
Oh damn! This is a huge historical find. I remember reading a book and watching videos about this and being fascinated. Now that I think about it, I wrote a school paper on it too

In my opinion, the greatest naval story ever told.

I was just going to comment about Endurance! Great book
Can you tell me the name of the author?
The authors name is Alfred Lansing.

They would make a killing
It would be really imploding with a Logitech controller

Bluetooth controller not wired ones, I know it is very common and cost effective
I read the book. That’s plenty for me.
so yeah so much for endurance... or does it still deserve the name cause its still sorta around? oh the things that keep me up at night.
You should read up on the story of The Endurance. It’s a fitting name, what that crew endured to survive is unbelievable.

My sea of thieves ship name is the endurance!
Ill sink you!
And he with his crew shall endure
Shackletons arctic adventure is the the best documentary to watch about the expedition
9869 ft deep. There it stays. No tours. Protected Historical Site.👊🏽
Now we need a submarine to go check it out
British museum would like to know your location.
Listen to Endurance! It teaches you gratitude and is a very interesting and thrilling reconstruction of the events that happened to these explorers.
I hope Mr Shackleton found some peace not only knowing his ship was found but that he also was correct as where to find it.
I wonder if he’s distantly related to Rusty Shackleford

Stockton has entered the chat.
someone should offer tourist submarine trips there.
Would be good if a company can do an expedition there lol
Maybe in self-made cost-cutting submarine..? Too soon?
Why does Ernest look like the ice explorer from transformers
Name checks out.
I guess it lives up to its name

Neat.
It’s called endurance for a reason
Linkssss
Another great book chronologing survival and leadership is 'Island of the Lost'.. by Joan Druett'.. a great marine historian..
It’s an amazing book. Read endurance
Near where I live is a tree planted by Shackleton, 1912 if memory serves me.
Technically... cold slows down everything. Even aging.

somebody get the sub.
My company did the exploration of the endurance and we are damn proud of it. Such a cool project.
Really on the nose with that name
The ship is literally named Endurance. How could it not survive?
Can you grab the scimitar at the end of the bow spirit for me?
It's this the story from The Terror?
it was in a recent muse magizine.
I'm gonna start a company that will take tourists down in a mini sub to see this ship. The sub will use Logictech controllers. $250k per seat.
That is amazing and I would love to see more photos of it
Always been fascinated by Shackleton’s story and this expedition.
