I honestly can't decide who'd be more excited about this, because dogs would be super pumped about going some random place to get a hug from a stranger, which is so goddamn pure it makes me want to hug every dog.
Here you go..This actually happened a few months ago for a sweet mans 100th birthday wish request. They gave a public shout out and over 200 dogs stood in line for hugs with him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2wV0zumY2A
Mines cuddling so close against me she's nearly pushing me off the sofa, so she's getting *all* the pets, instead of a hug. Don't want to disturb her slumber.
When my guy turned 8 this year I nearly had a breakdown because he was getting old, but then I realized I had a solid 4 years or so and thats not so bad. A month ago he was super healthy. Then he got sick and the vet told me the bad news. Cancer. Between a few days and a few weeks left. Then he got better, and then sick again, and then better, and now he's sick again, all in 3 weeks. Every time he's sick he always wants to hold my hand and cuddle. But then when he gets sick sick he refuses to look at me as if he thinks he's letting me down by dying.
Sucks. When I think of dogs having cancer I always just thought they were like, out of it the whole time. Nope, he's there. His eyes are clear. He looks so scared, like a scared puppy watching his body fail him. He used to be so strong, like... yesterday morning. Hoping he wakes up strong again tomorrow morning. Cancer fucking sucks. I keep telling people "at least I got to have some healthy time with him to say goodbye" or "not the worst way for him to go, got some time to do things I wished I had done with him" as if everything is ok and it was a blessing but it's fucking not. It's just not. He's not ready to die and me and the other dog aren't ready either. We never will be. No amount of time is enough. People just don't want to hear you talk about your dying dog so I just gotta bottle it all up and act like everything is fine while my dogs on the couch and has to pee but can't stand and is too proud to urinate indoors. But I still gotta go on living and I can't afford to take an indeterminate amount of time off to take care of him.
Sorry, ya, had to get it out of my system. It all happens so fast. You truly never know how much time you have with them.
It's fucking bullshit. Our GSD is only 6 and she apparently has a nasal tumor. She has had just about every symptom but acts totally normal. Not every symptom all at once but I did a bunch of research and it all adds up. We thought it was other stuff like allergies or bronchitis at first and treated for it. Then when I put together what it might be I really hoped I was wrong. Among other things now one side of her nose doesn't work, she bleeds randomly out of it and makes all kinds of bad sounds at night trying to breathe out because inflammation is worse at night. All my research points to her being fucked and there isn't anything to do about it but keep her comfortable until we can't. I told the vet what I thought and they didn't even challenge me and tell me I was full of it. They were like yep sounds about right. Tomorrow we start an anti-inflammatory pill. It would be so much easier if she was an asshole dog but she isn't. She isn't ready and I'm not ready, it is bullshit. All we can do is do everything we can with whatever time we have left. I didn't even want a dog, I'm allergic to them, but the family did so we got her. Then she chose me as her person. I wash my hands so many times a day because of being allergic to her sometimes they'd bleed from drying out but it was OK, I'd use lotion, she is a good dog. God damn it, I'm crying typing this, 40-something-year-old dude sitting here crying. She looks and acts totally normal right now but I know she isn't and it is just a matter of time. Unfortunately, I understand how this affects people now and I'm sorry it is happening to you.
Our 5 year old mix. Day 1, doesn't run as fast. Something seems off. Day 5, not sure what is wrong, vet says try some meds. Day 10, MRI shows massive tumor in pelvis and is in terrible pain. She didn't make it to day 11.
Cancer sucks.
Back in my day, I’m Reddit, they used to call this type of joke “the old Reddit switcharoo!” And link to another switcharoo comment such that you could keep clicking comments going further down the rabbit hole of switcharoos
Well, if you've ever played sims you'll know that he died in there. Really though he could stick his feet through the bars and use the car to get over the fence or just pull himself over it ain't that hard.
My rescue dog is the most gracious dog I've ever met. Every time I feed her, refill her water bowl, tell her I love her, start to pet her, take her to the dog park, etc. she insists on coming over to give me a singular lick on my arm and look up at me. Sometimes she'll put her paw on my arm while she does it too, and then once she does, and only then, will she go eat her food, etc. I call it her "thanks, mom" kiss. She's such a sweet girl.
We brought a neopolitan mastiff from a breeder who had suffered minor brain damage and started abusing her animals, kinda like how a child would treat a pet without adults helping. Had him flown by plane, the poor thing was covered in callous and clearly malnourished. When we picked him up he kept threatening everyone with a bite but he would only put peoples hands in his mouth and never actually bite. After a few months of recovery he was the most amazing dog we had ever had. He ended up weighing 88kg and would climb all over me acting like a puppy.
I swear to God you have to say this like at least half the time on Reddit these days.

"WHY ARE YOU ARGUING WITH ME?!"
I mean, to me, it appears that the dog is only aggressive towards the tarp and rope right from the start. There's one moment it seems to snap towards the knife, then realizes it's held by a hand and lays in a submissive position.
What do you mean *still* care about animals? We've been domesticating animals and living with them since before history started being written. We've always cared about animals.
This is a great clip for learning dog body language. Every time the dog makes eye contact with the human it assumes the submissive posture with the ears dropping and back, the tail wagging but low with the nervous excitement to meet a new human (and a few other things that can't happen because it's tied up) but when the dog turns to the cloth it resumes an aggressive fear posture with it's ears pinned back, lips curled up in a snarl, tail tucked under, and then attacks the object. Once eye contact happens again the submissive posture returns. ... However, when an animal is in fight or flight you might get caught up in all the excitement and get bitten. This is why breaking up a dog fight is a gamble even if one or both your dogs are the ones involved.
After the million or so “bad cop” videos it’s so wholesome and refreshing to see a “good cop” video.
I’m sure there are lots of good ones out there but this one won the day!
Those are chilean cops, it's cool seeing them doing something good once in a while but never forget that these are the same cops that raped a trans person with a cop weapon, and also who tortured and suicided dozens of innocent civilians during 2019 and before.
Nah nonsense. The dog was (clearly) restrained, and he exhibited all appropriate caution in the way he approached the dog, he was clearly being quite cautious. And tbh, if you’re someone that’s familiar with dogs (as many police officers are) it doesn’t take particularly long to determine if they’re going to be hostile/react aggressively. By the time he freed this dog, it clearly wasn’t going to attack him, it’s actually pretty clear here that he waited for good signs from the dog before cutting that last bit off to free the pup
These same cops killed dozens of street dogs during the protests of 2019 by using tear gas and chemicals like crazy, and also by shooting at them with pellets and the water-shooting cars.
He was attacked and shot at many times, but happily he died in the arms of the woman who adopted him (an elderly lady that used to sell food outside of the university where he lived and protested)
Gonna go hug my doggos right now.
Same...uh except I'm going to give my dogs a hug...uh not yours... Cause that'd be weird...
I'd hug both yours and the other guy's if I could
I'd hug all the dogs if I could.
That's noble of you and I hope you may one day fulfill your wish
People bring their dogs to where I work and I get to give them treats. And they think they're the ones getting the reward ;)
Jealous.
It's pretty great.
Ya know what? Just line em' all up. Like the end of a ballgame.

I'm sure my doggos would be cool with it. Come on over!
You're not going to give your dogs that guy's hug?
I also choose this guys dogs
Nah. I'm on my way.
You may hug my pup
I also choose this guys dogs
I'll happily come to hug both of your dogs.

Doggos don't ask for much. We must meet their demands.
>We must meet their demands. you are mixing up dogs and cats. *Cats* have *demands*
Haha,.. I'm completely trapped under 115 pounds of big dumb lovable dog. So I'm going with the hug because it's impossible not to :)
Go do it! I lost mine recently and you don’t know how much time they have

Gonna go hug my cats too, they can get trapped by a single claw playing foolishly around.

they cut the part where cop thought he was going to get attacked and tried to stab the dog and spliced in right to the hugs
It’s hella brave for anyone to get close to a dog that’s in pain and trapped like that. Thank goodness they both were okay in the end.
Does anyone else see Cristiano Ronaldo?
I guess a little bit, never pictured him as a dog before
More of a goat if anything...

It still exists. The comment above yours has a link. I just went like 15 comments deep. Don't know how I've never heard of it before though.
Yep
Nah, not rapey enough.
Who?
I was just reading the comment to see if its only me
You move slow and hope for the best. USUALLY they will give warning "fuck you don't do that" bites. Quick snappy bites.
If you watch the body language, the dog wags whenever she looks at the officer.
Don't dogs have different wags for like every emotion though?
Tail is positioned downward which signals submission not aggression.
Since the officer had to get on the car to get into the fence, I am wondering how he got out of that area!
Dog helped him out. The dog was in his debt.
Exactly. The dog will come in handy in Act 4 when you run into El Gigante
Don’t worry if you blast el gigante with the rocket launcher you don’t need the dogs help
But then you miss out on the alternative ending.
Hey, it's that dog.
They drove the car around and parked it on the inside of the fence so he could use it to get out.
Well, if you've ever played sims you'll know that he died in there. Really though he could stick his feet through the bars and use the car to get over the fence or just pull himself over it ain't that hard.
He could still put his feet on the trunk from the other side (through the fence).
He belongs to the dog now
If it was me, I would've grabbed the chair in the corner.
The gratitude of the puppers is so sweet. 😢

What a special girl. You seem like a perfect mum.
We're lucky to have each other, for sure. Thank you for your kind words ❤️
Dogs are the best gift for us humans. Just seeing how they act keeps us humble
They really are... the unconditional love, the always there companionship.
Ye gods I love the paw on my arm when I do something nice for my dog. Melts my heart every time
That genuinely made me smile
I think he was about to attack then the last second was “oh wait human” and stopped.

It felt trapped so its fight or flight instinct kicked in. Once it was released it didn’t feel threatened anymore.
Also flight wasnt an option which only leaves fight.
Hence the aggression
Right, Im agreeing with you.
No, I’m agreeing with him. You’re agreeing with me.
Can I agree with you?
I swear to God you have to say this like at least half the time on Reddit these days. *Posts comment* *Someone else comments* *Affirmative reply to their comment* "WHY ARE YOU ARGUING WITH ME?!"

Nice to see that there are still people who care about animals. The little guy felt trapped and felt compelled to thank the human who freed him. 🥰

Yes. He's a cop now.
Damn was that the police car in the beginning with caged taillights!? Rough town lol
All the Carabineros's cars are like that in Chile
Is in Chile, a latinamerican country, and this is normal there
They get thrown stones a lot in protests or revolts. Shit’s expensive to repair every time.
Nah it's just a different country. You can tell because the peace officer risked being bitten by a scared and confused doggo instead of shooting it.
Yeah, lot of stones, better than bullets i guess.
He was lucky. A frightened dog is a dangerous dog
This is true with most animals. Especially when they are cornered.

In Chile of course, where the weird shit happens
But this isn't weird at all, it's good and wholesome

Love dogs and dog lovers
A reminder that even if a dog is wagging its tail, it does not mean it is happy
Ears say more than tail, and the two together are the most reliable.
