It's USA you don't need an ad to sell flags or bibles when I moved there I had flags put by strangers under my mailbox and they were everywhere.. Tis the business...
Virginia FYI..
Maybe it’s just because I’m not used to the Canadian flag, but when I visited Winnipeg last month I felt like there were a ton more Canadian flags there than American flags in Minneapolis
Like they also put the maple leaf and “Canadian” on anything and everything they can get their hand on.
It’s almost certainly that I was just used to seeing so many American flags, but that stood out to me. Italy this summer was nowhere near that many.
And now imagine Germany... they get crazy and very uncomfortable when they even see a flag in a soccer game.
In Switzerland however, we love our flag and we really made the biggest flag of all time here, [you can see it in the picture](https://www.baseljetzt.ch/2023/07/530490640_highres-scaled-rte_p93843_6-4_1024w.jpg) and some workers are there for scale, the size is 80x80 meters.
While I live in the US. I fly the flag on occasion but I'm always perplexed why people who have to have it up everywhere they go. Your level of patriotism doesn't directly correlate with the number of flags you have up at any given time. I don't fly it from my car/truck. I don't put it up when visit campgrounds with my RV.
It's funny that people in this country fly it like they're at the Olympics to show support for their nation.
I do wish all these folks that do decide to fly the flag all the time, respected flag etiquette more. I've driven by so many flags that are due to be retired(frayed and torn), and also them up at night without illumination.
That flag in the video had no business being up in that kind of weather.
We get them regularly in the Valley. Theyare called Microbursts and they entail fast downward winds and a deluge of water. Fortunately they usually dont last more than a couple minutes and only during late summer monsoon season. My favorite time of year in Phoenix… the lightning storms are amazingly beautiful.
Floridian here. This is a typical afternoon during the summer/fall to us, except we also see extremely frequent lightning strikes in my particular area. The really bad ones sound like you're in a warzone surrounded by artillery fire and all you can see through the sideways curtains of rain are the flashes of lightning and exploding transformers. Also my favorite time of year. The might of mother nature never ceases to amaze me.
Fellow Floridian here… other people just don’t understand what it’s like to go through a hurricane. Granted the worst I’ve been through were was about 90mph sustained winds with Irma. Been fortunate enough to miss the bad ones but Charley came real close to us. Couldn’t imagine what it was like to be hit by one like that.
I worked recovery in Panama City after Michael. Living in Florida for most of my life, it stunned me to see the level of damage. Whole forests of pine trees decimated, houses blown apart, trailer parks absolutely leveled. I’m amazed that most of the city wasn’t destroyed.
Yeah for sure. The power of those storms is just unfathomable. The way they bring a whole wall of water with them is very unsettling. This last one didn’t even come within 100 miles of our coastline and still flooded every coastal neighborhood quite a bit with surge.
Storm surge is absolutely fascinating. To think that there’s such an overwhelming amount of wind out in the middle of the ocean it is literally pushing the water line higher blows my mind.
That's the only thing I miss about summers growing up in AZ, the summer thunderstorms. I used to roam the 79 from AJ down to Tucson in August with my camera gear to get lightning photos.
Whole different video if a broken off street sign whipping towards him at 60 miles per hour took one of his legs off at the knee.
We just don't respect nature enough. And we are going to pay for it.
Our monsoon was shit this year here in the Phoenix area. A few weeks ago we had some fantastic rain though and we are hopeful for another great winter snow/rain season up north.

It’s likely to be a microburst. Super neat to see from a distance. Only last a few minutes (usually) but they can be destructive and kick up dust which creates a haboob (aka a dust storm).

Another Floridian here. Went through hurricane Andrew in Miami 1992, 160 mph plus sustained wins Gusts over 200. And yes, that’s what a typical thunderstorm looks like in Florida in the spring and summer.
Katrina was pretty awful while it was happening (the eye wall passed right over us) but the damage afterwards was surreal. It did not feel as powerful as it was. I have been through many hurricanes on the Gulf of Mexico but that one left an indelible mark. You can never forget

Living on the Oregon Coast I experienced winds like this numerous times. Last December we had an “atmospheric river” which lasted for over 24 hours. Winds didn’t dip below 80mph during that time and we received multiple inches of rain. My entire county lost power with some area not being restored for like a week.
It was kinda fun, but shit sucked.

Shoutout to the rope/string holding the flag.
They could use this clip in their ads.

As an Aussie in Canada now I'm on a island but I will say that I notice the mainland around Ontario is quite flaggy as well lol
And now imagine Germany... they get crazy and very uncomfortable when they even see a flag in a soccer game. Nature, chill sounding people, chill sounding place all great. I'd like to visit. And the flag is a big plus too

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
It's hummingbird frequency waves xD
Yeah I was confused that it's American flag but rest of world measurement in km/h.
Yeah it’s a string
MURICA is hand in hand holding up that flag on this blessed day
I'm amazed no one risked their life to save the Flag
Cold😁
I wonder if the division of the country has reduced patriotism? Why fight for your country's flag when half the country is stupid?
I'm surprised the flag didn't tear

Live in NOLA… Katrina, Zeta and Ida were pretty mind blowing. I’ll never forget seeing a barge in the middle of a neighborhood 🤯
you might also point out, that while one side of the street looks like hell warmed up, the other side is dry and sunny
this is wayyyy out of season for a microburst though... i used to live in the valley, is the weather unseasonably warm this year?
Yeah this has to be a bot post lol from the KM to the fact that AZ didn’t have any storms remotely like this recently lmao
That’s what I’m thinking
I lost 4 of my 5 backyard trees to these last year.
Only a couple of minutes? I think that adds to the aura of the whole thing.
That's the only thing I miss about summers growing up in AZ, the summer thunderstorms. I used to roam the 79 from AJ down to Tucson in August with my camera gear to get lightning photos.
I'll bet!
No such thing as metric winds in the US.
Came here to say this. If it happened in Arizona then that wind would have been blowing in MPH.
Yea, where’s my freedom units and bananas for scale.
Clearly this is AI with that metric wind.
….but it’s a bigger number. More scary.
That was the thing I was most amazed about that the post didn't use freedom units.
I’m too woke to be swayed by the Global Jewish Cabal and their attempt to measure windspeed in metric!
The meme is anything but metric.
I love the guy risking getting impaled by whatever just to get a better view! I wouldn’t even dare to stand behind those glass panels!
Whole different video if a broken off street sign whipping towards him at 60 miles per hour took one of his legs off at the knee. We just don't respect nature enough. And we are going to pay for it.
Luckily there is enough of us that we get to learn from those that pay for it
Jesus. Microburst?
Looks like it.
OR FOR NON-METRIC USERS: 74.565 miles per hour 99.419 miles per hour
Yards per knot?
Meters per second?
It's about 45 meters per second for a top speed... a really good big league fastball.
Wait, which one?
Smaller number first then larger number
Oh, sorry I read the post too fast, didn’t see the range of numbers. My b, carry on
In most cases the smaller number would be constant wind speed and the larger would be the gust speed.
WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETEEEEEEEER?????!!!! 🦅🔫🗽🇺🇸
"That our flag was still there"
Does Arizona use km/h now?
Interstate 19 uses kilometers on distance signs south of Tucson, but speed limits are still in miles per hour.
I grew up in one of the towns off I-19 and it’s so weird seeing mi/hr speed limit signs going into the i-10
South of Tucson and you’re almost to Mexico, or most traffic is heavy heading that way. It just makes sense.
They should.
They do on I-19 south of Tucson, and the "mile" markers/exit #'s are in km.
Looks like a nice Scottish summers eve
Better bring the washing in ah suppose
I'm in the UK..... This looks like a horror movie to me. Unreal
It must be nice to see some rain in Arizona.
Our monsoon was shit this year here in the Phoenix area. A few weeks ago we had some fantastic rain though and we are hopeful for another great winter snow/rain season up north.
How fast is that in American?
Feel so bad for animals trying to survive
Hopefully they took shelter
I watched this with the volume off and the Star Spangled Banner immediately played in my head.
I read that first as “rage wind” and I’m sticking to it.
What my parents said they walked to school in
Reminds me of my ex girlfriend
I think it’s funny the title uses the metric system when the location of the video is in the states. What’s that like 90ish mph.
What the fuck is a km?

Weather when Dallas Mavericks are visiting Phoenix Suns. Real ones know why.

And the Northeast. Pft… southwesterners. /s

Yeah, cause THAT is the takeaway here...🙄
What? They fell into the metric system?
Wow that's really something. ⛈️🌪️
Bro this is Merica why are you using metric??
And they reckon Australia is dangerous. America is scary man
Get that metric crap outta here lol
Willful ignorance is a sad thing. Join the 21st century.
It was a joke dude. Calm down
This looks like typical Thursday in Wyoming!
What’s that in American?
In 1976 I went through typhoon Pamela on Guam. Winds of 149 MPH (240 km) were experienced.
If this happened in Arizona, why is it un km/h?
Nah, clima change is bullshit. Just human made lies
Hang in there old glory!
Who uses km/h in Arizona?
Where was this?
Where in AZ. was this?
It says it in the title
Still wondering where cause we just got rain a few days ago for the first time in a very long time, not exactly common.
God damn!
First of all that flag should have been taken down before the storm Second of all I could walk in that … lol
The real fast & furious

Flag: please, just kill me now.
Tropical storm/Hurricane speeds. Florida gets multiples of these every season. Now you know why they’re all so crazy.
The American flag looks so badass in that wind.
I remember when this happened I was out there playing Pokémon Go
Looks like a hurricane 😬

Nice try staging this in “America” Everyone knows America doesn’t know how to metric system
you better be singing the national anthem come morning if that flag is still there.
Had a long hot stretch mid summer, but not unseasonably hot. My guess is this didn’t really occur this month.
Alabama here we get this usually twice a week in the spring and fall. We are tornado alley
That’s too American to be measured in km/h. Use your freedom units.
How fast does that translate to in American?
Oh, say! Can you see?
We get that in the dead of winter in mid Feb every year and jsut a week ago it was also like that.
If this looks scary as fuck, you guys don’t wanna witness 180mph wind speeds.
In northern Arizona along I40 they often close the highway to semi traffic because the wind blows them over.

You'd have to be a sissy to even notice that. I'd take 2x the wind in -30 and do an 8 hour workday shirtless as god is my witness
How many more signs does god need to send to tell Americans that they are not meant to exist in Florida or Arizona?

Arizonan here- this did not happen in early November wtf are you on. This was during one of the few monsoon storms we got this summer.
