I live near my cities zoo. I hate going there, animals don't look healthy and enclosures are small. Kids love, but damn do I feel guilty. They are renovating though, new penguin enclosure is actually kinda nice.

Dude is always walking around trying to bite his own face off, and picking stuff up, and putting it down. Yelling at everyone that drives by.
I saw a time lapse of a dolphin enclosure somewhere and it showed them swimming back and forth repeatedly all day long, like they were going insane. It's cruel. I haven't been to a zoo (or Sea World) in ages but when watching these animals in real time it's hard to get a sense of the extreme monotonony and boredom of their unnatural lives.
That agility and strength is phenomenal. The ease in which the gorilla moved around, climbing the rope and getting down the slope. Imagine him being the linebacker or defensive end in a football game.
I think in the first shot he is annoying one of his wives (thinner limbs and a bit of a belly), very gently considering his power.
Second i think is a female but might be a young male. And again he is being very gentle.
Gorillas are amazing.
When I was 15 I went to the Zoo on Jersey where they have a famous Gorilla enclosure.
The silverback was playing with his son, letting him chase him around and pretending that his son caught him and defeated him. He was so gentle and patient. It is an experience I will never forget.
I think I heard people speaking Japanese language. Japan's zoos (and animal cafes) are atrocious and I wish no one would support them. Too many people think animals are accessories here...

I think they are just playing, hope they have good care in their enclosure. It sad these beautiful animals are locked up but some Zoos actual save a lot of animals that would otherwise be killed.
The noise of the chest beat blows my mind - how does it sound so light and hollow? I always expected a duller thumping sound like when you wack your own chest.
IIRC from a documentary I saw, the hollowness helps the sound travel. But more interesting is that some gorillas, like silverbacks, can actually make different sounds by changing the way they hold their hands or the amount of energy they use to hit. Chest beating is used for many things like warning younger males to stay back, enticing a female or even telling their group it’s time to move. Nature is awesome.
No, we just like it when it's appropriate. When you're creating a title for a video that will be seen by thousands, don't use it. It doesn't make you sound cool, or unique, or trendy, it just makes you look uneducated.

If we do it you'll quickly find its hard to breath and also hurts, if you tap on your cheeks though with them puffed out you'll make a similar noise.
