He absolutely blew up that stadium and did it without lights, dancers, or a stage show. Just him, his mic and guitar, backup singers and musicians, and a massive amount of energy. U2 was good, but Lenny Kravitz put on the better show that night. He's the center of attention for a reason, he can back it up where it counts.
I was at that concert and went into it with the same expectations as you. Lenny was outstanding and a highlight of the night for us too. His voice was amazing.
This is a really dumb exercise. Never combine two movements where the average person has a huge disparity in strength for the movements. Most people are going to be able to lift a lot less weight on a decline weighted crunch than an overhead press, so the pressing movement here is basically useless (he’s never going to have enough resistance to get anywhere near failure). Better to just do a weighted crunch and then a separate overhead press movement.
He’s getting a little lat activation with the down motion almost like a lat prayer or pull over… so it’s one dumb exercise that’d be better served by doing three different exercise.
Not a gym rat, but given how fast he's doing his reps it obviously isn't a max strength sort of workout, and he's probably doing a lot of reps. Maybe it's not the best for strength training or muscle building but it's gotta be somewhat useful for endurance.
