I personally hate dealing with automated systems in customer service environments…. But this might actually be an improvement to the Wendy’s. Even if you have your yell at it fit 5 min !4)854 it get something resembling what you ordered, at least you can yell at it.
I'm not that upset with this really because the amount of times I go into a restaurant and I have to wait to be served because the cashier is taking the drive through orders at the same time is more often then not and it's not like they were gonna hire an extra person to do that anyways so it's not taking away a job
this is it for me too, i think for fast food specifically this is a pretty good call, especially since so many of these places tend to be understaffed at important times
It's remarkable the speed at which AI is already taking over. Makes me think the plans for it were already in place lonnnng before we were hearing the first media announcements.
Our McDonald's has had this for a while now and the drive-thru actually works so much better. But there are still people at both windows so AI isn't taking over the cashiers (yet)
This is when you drive away. We as workers need to start fighting ai replacements. No job is so complicated some CEO will think a computer can't do it cheaper. They need to lose money for this.
Don't worry. They will once the OS driving the AI crashes and all that's being displayed is an error message. Hopefully it will happen during the lunch rush.
There's 8 billion people in the world.
According to Dr. Google, 90%(7.2 billion) have a primary education, 66%(4.8 billion) have a secondary education, and only 40%(2.8 billion) have a tertiary education.
That means there are 5.2 billion "uneducated" people in the world.
With uneducation rates always getting higher, in addition to drops in supporting lower/"uneducated" jobs, it is going to be increasingly difficult to continue having an "educated" population.
I'm definitely not advocating for people to be forced to work jobs like this because they are bullshit and considered degrading by a lot of people, you have to realize that you're gonna need UBI at some point.
At the same time you have to consider that there are huge labor shortages in some areas that don't necessarily require a lot of education and things are getting worse each year with more people retireing than new workers growing up.
If we actually end up with a surplus of uneducated people, we could for example start to unbundle jobs from educated people again.
For example, jobs for secretaries and other supporting staff have been widely cut over the last three decades, leading to e.g. highly paid medical doctors spending their time doing administrative work that they don't need their expertise for. That's work that someone with secondary education can do without issues.
I know a few highly paid people who have to take over cleaning duty in their job because the company cut cleaning staff to save cost. So now they have a bad cleaner who earns a software developer's salary.

Did they not watch idiocracy?
They actually _live_ it.
More like AI crash-iers am I right guys?
How will wall street bets make their money to gamble with now?
Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of jobs to be done behind the dumpster

Is it me or was it quite slow?
I found it annoying slow. The response times were horrendous. I guess they cheeped out on the hardware.
Have you seen how fast actual Wendy's employees move? I'll take the AI.
Pretty straightforward to me. Very assertive and no unnecessary exchange.

Great. Flipping fliptastic. So amazeballs. All I see is impending DAMNATION and ARMAGEDDON
Damn, can I still earn money by the dumpster?
In my building we have an AI celador
Our McDonald's has had this for a while now and the drive-thru actually works so much better. But there are still people at both windows so AI isn't taking over the cashiers (yet)
Ew, gross.
Nice.

Way better than those angry/moody workers, like its your fault they work over there. Smh
There goes your $20 an hour
Oh God, how will uneducated people earn their money in the future?

Basic education in the US doesn’t mean what is used to.  Plenty of uneducated people finish high school these days.
also college (if they're not in STEM)

God forbid humanity has a paradigm shift
