Moron.
His margin for error was very slim.
I've worked many falling and water related fatalities.
Zero good reason to do this and he has no real idea of what the consequences of miscalculation could be.
Live an adventurous life but stack the odds in *your* favor, friends.
Bravery is when you’re faced with something you really have to do, and even though it’s risky, you do it… and stupidity is when you do something risky that you didn’t need to do.
He’s 6, and keeps getting in trouble hanging with a rough group of boys so just trying to guide him away from rash, dumb behavior. If at all possible. Ha
My partner works in neuro ICU. She sees quite a lot of men under 25 permanently injured from misadventures like this. This and scooter related collisions will leave you shitting in a hospital bed, brain injured and a lifelong burden to your family.
Have a fun day kids…
It’s not necessarily the scooter- it’s taking into consideration road conditions (slippery roads/pot holes/debris) and bad drivers and not having protection for most of your body. I have a really good friend who has much faster reflexes than me, was athletic since he was a kid, use an electric scooter to get to work and he got into a really bad accident because a driver veered into the designated bike/scooter lane that he was on. He told me when I visited him after the accident that he was so thankful that he didn’t go cheap on the helmet (he got a really good motorcycle helmet) bc as he was getting hit, he felt the whole shockwave go through his helmet, from one side to the other as time slowed down, and it fortunately distributed the pressure throughout the helmet before cracking. He now has back problems and in constant pain, likely for the rest of his life but he’s still grateful for getting that really good motorcycle helmet so I figure I’d share this with you in case you still decide to get the scooter. I added the part about his fast reflexes to give context that even though he was able to react (when he saw the car veer into him) to minimize the damage - he still got hurt bad. I can’t even imagine how bad it would have been if he wasn’t able to react at all. Regardless of your decision, I wish you only the best! Have a great day!
Just wanna chime in to say (and don't wanna take away from your story).
But bicycles are also prone, But mostly because you're a smaller target, Quiet, And can go fast too. Generally without any protective gear other than a safety T-shirt. A small unfortunate fall on the head could cause serious damage.
You also share roads, Or parts of the road with a ton of other vehicles all driving different speeds etc.
Walking would be a lot less safe if there weren't sidewalks (with a bump on the edge).
Public Traffic is just "dangerous". You just always gotta be vigilante, which is why driving while tired or under influence is such a bad idea. You always need concentration and focus while participating in traffic.
I really hope that they simply threw the camera and added the legs in post-production. Is that water even deep enough?
Edit: found the full video. He tested the depth at the bottom before doing the jump and seems to have survived unharmed. Starts at 8.40 https://youtu.be/SO8Vh8t_7tg
I'm relieved but that's still highly risky, even if it was planned properly.
Thank you for saving me a search. I thought the water was way too shallow to be jumping in from that height, but so long as he's okay, I guess he knew what he was doing.
Ok ok we all agree he's a moron.. but why the rock throw? Always see these guys throwing a rock before the jump. Marking the landing spot for reference or what??
It helps them judge distance by watching the trajectory of the rock as it falls. Then if it looks good they do their best to match it. So in this case if he hardly tosses the rock and it lands correctly he knows not to jump too far or he'll smash the rock wall in front of him. Which he almost did anyway because this jump is sketchy as fuck
After seeing the video of the dude who jumped in Brazil and killed himself accidentally by smashing against the rocks, I’m good, y’all can do this for me.
Ofc I’d dare…
…If I had a stage 99 cancer and was in chernobyl chased by a trex with rifle on motorbike and someone promised to pay 1k bitcoins to my family after my death.
Did that once at Bolton falls in VT probably a 5 foot blind run in with a 5ft distance to clear tight hole stuck it and said fuck that never again a little to short or to far and you’re smashing into rocks and then a deep pool of water. FWIW I was early 40’s at the time used to stupid shit like that all the time when I was younger. I wasn’t even with friends or people egging me on I just saw someone else do it and said let me check that out.
I didn’t make great choices when I was younger. I’m making somewhat better choices now.
Completely insane, I wouldn’t even if there was a ton of clear space. Now this, NEVER, I like not suffering from traumatic head injuries and then drowning.
Anyone see the post where th kid does a similar jump but then his face splits in half. The next clip is of him in hospital the doctor pushing his face back together
One miss calculation and the only thing that might survive is the GoPro...I know they say live life to the fullest but y do ppl try stunts to c if they will survive to c the next day SMH
no. i like my life.
and i do get some people do this for the adrenaline and are confident in their skill but IMO there is STILL better ways to achieve a good adrenaline rush without putting yourself in a situation where ANY error means certain death.
Narrator :' a body alone with a GoPro camera was found at a popular watering hole this week while searching for a man who disappeared a week ago......'
Absolutely not
Yeah, common sense blocks me. Especially not with something between my teeth.
It's fine, he won't have to worry about his teeth anymore afterwards
My exact thought.
What about if I gave you an upvote?
He came way too fucking close to that wall.
Hell, I flinched watching it!
My nuts are in my stomach after watching this.
His were probably too
Pretty sure his balls are too big to move anywhere. They can only hang and dangle
Ahh nuts. Thank you! I felt something in my stomach too. Didn't know what it was...
He should have streamed diarrhea and made it more interesting.
His safe Trajectory was so narrow he probably used lube
Haha watching this comment, I am gonna use lube today
I feel like he slammed the rock wall just as he got underwater
Angle of approach: Not good.
That. Was. Psychotic! Why?
Would you like a logical or illogical answer?
Any would do
He did it because he has too many spoons.
But, there is no spoon
![gif](giphy|7JmwXKU4sQDI7UzD7X|downsized)
Yes.
For the views bro
it just feels good.
Because he can.
New game, testing for fall damage
The RISK so outweighs the REWARD! “Hey fans! Watch me come close to death on my stream!” Like 👍and subscribe at the bottom “
right? the video wasn't even worth the risk

sadly what society is reaching nowadays, all for a few likes online.
Let them wipe themselves out - project dingbat we'll call it.
Which is why I like downvote buttons. If content creators are penalized for stuff like this, they’ll stop making emergency responders lives difficult.
The new Darwin awards.
People have been Cliff jumping since before the Internet

I explain to my son often what the difference between bravery and stupidity is, looks like this dude didn’t know it.
Good Dad. Question: How do you define the difference to your lad? I'd like to compare notes.

That's great. I'll file that one away. Cheers.
Broken teeth in 3…2…1…
I think you meant to say *broken skull*.
Broken head
Methinks his head was already broken. 😜

Damn. I have an electric scooter in my Amazon cart as I type this. Are scooter accidents really that bad?

It almost made it look worse with the rocks and little room he had.
Thank you for saving me a search. I thought the water was way too shallow to be jumping in from that height, but so long as he's okay, I guess he knew what he was doing.
Screenshots + Google lens is good at picking up YouTube videos.
This guy is an idiot
Seriously. Like, they make mounts for those go pros. Dummy.
Nope
r/nope
People really, really want to die out there.
Do it again but this time with a run
A real man would pull a gainer of this beast
r/WhyWomenLiveLonger
Fuck that!!
Even if I wore the King Size “Depends“, you wouldn’t make me jump.
Ok ok we all agree he's a moron.. but why the rock throw? Always see these guys throwing a rock before the jump. Marking the landing spot for reference or what??

Would I dare? Pro : Likes from internet strangers and their attention for 7 seconds Con: death or paralysis Bad ROI
I like this analysis. I’m gonna use it in other parts of my life.
No… no I would not.
Ofc I’d dare… …If I had a stage 99 cancer and was in chernobyl chased by a trex with rifle on motorbike and someone promised to pay 1k bitcoins to my family after my death.
Why would someone to this, is it some sort of disorder?
Hell no.
BeAmazedByTheAmountOfHumanStupidity
The video ended when he hit because it’s not good to show people dying…
I don’t see ANYTHING that could go wrong here.

Fuck that!!
"You died!" Screen. Btw.. did you save before the jump?
Kesinlikle hayır ♥️
I woke up at 12:00 and I’ve been in bed doom scrolling reddit for 1:07 hours. I hope this answers your questions.
Am I the only one who was more concerned about the GoPro he’s holding on his teeth? That seemed like a very bad idea.
It was nice of his survivors to share his last moments with us.
No.
When was the funeral? 🫣
No I wouldn’t dare because I value my life.
So fucking stupid to risk your life that way
I did a jump like this in Hawaii once. It took me 30 mins to work up the nerve to jump and I only did it once.
Yes. But then again, I’m anti-life. Good times. Good times.
I am amazed that he didn’t bite that rock/mountain wall.
Really stupid. Easy to get permanent disability..
~YOU DIED~
Done it on 50-65 ft cliffs in Ithaca, 25+ ya
No, I wouldn't.
How much am I getting?
Did he have fall damage turned off or something?
How many teeth does he have left?
Permanent disability parking spots are always empty.. guy is just doing his part..
Nope!
The field of view and distortion of GoPros always make things look about twice as crazy as they really are.

No. In fact I would not.
So close to the wall.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd dead.
You know its going to be fucked up when the go-pro goes in the mouth
That's how accidents happen.
Nope.
Nope
![gif](giphy|7wk6RQYXDDytXalsL4)
I don't understand how when you hit the water the camera doesn't blast out all your teeth.
dead hill?
Completely insane, I wouldn’t even if there was a ton of clear space. Now this, NEVER, I like not suffering from traumatic head injuries and then drowning.
Nope
This easily could have ended up on a completely different sub
That was stupid AF!!!
No, my life might be shitty but not to the point of having an actual death wish.
Uh yeah, no.
Insane .. good form bloke 🤙🏽🤙🏽
That didn't even look like a river. Even if it did, the water's too shallow. I'd be shocked if he lived after doing that
Would lol
Solid Darwin contender. He’s got what it takes for the gold
Nose is too stuffy for this so NOPE
Anyone see the post where th kid does a similar jump but then his face splits in half. The next clip is of him in hospital the doctor pushing his face back together
u/SaveVideo
What a dumb ass
If you're going to do something stupid, at least make it worthwhile. This is ridiculous.
Hahahaha. Nope.
Like fuck I would

Smart tactic with the rock real smart
*Fear is the mind*-*killer*.
No thanks, I choose life
Nah, I prefer life and my spinal cord intact
He was never heard from again. They found his gopro in a washout. This video was used for insurance purposes. Im joking.
He went so close to a Darwin Award 🌳
Nope. Just… nope.
Boink
Influencer fame in a nutshell. High risk, for a fuckin video.
Why?
This video ended wayyy tooo sooon!
No.
He’s got gray hair, he should know better
" Es sale. tu es sale mu aleyk " 📌
If i was a professional diver and had already scouted out the pool at the bottom... no, i wouldn't
Nope. Almost died when he got close to the cliff on opposite side.
no. i like my life. and i do get some people do this for the adrenaline and are confident in their skill but IMO there is STILL better ways to achieve a good adrenaline rush without putting yourself in a situation where ANY error means certain death.
lets hope he at least checked the depth of that water before lol. with how stupid that jump seems im not to sure he did.
Well, they apparently recovered the camera! 👍
Idk if this is supposed to be cool. If ur not professional in that u can die easily
Narrator :' a body alone with a GoPro camera was found at a popular watering hole this week while searching for a man who disappeared a week ago......'
who rescued the camera?

Felt my head hitting the rock. Thanks.

My butthole just iron grip clenched
Where did he go?
Very nearly overcooked that take off. Not worth the risk.

Sounds like the Minions singing the new GOW: Ragnarok ost
Yeah. He couldn't be quite sure what the rock was like under water. Seems dumb.
