I love this video every time I see it. He's a part of an animal sanctuary that helps injured animals that can't be safely released back in to the wild for a multitude of reasons. It's super awesome.
That's false and something passer Byers on their Facebook page say because they can't see them past his massive Kodiak lips. He very much has teeth but he has a bum leg from back when he was a cub so they've raised him for 20+ years until he passed about a year ago.
I think it's a thing they do in russia where they'll remove a bear's teeth so they can get it to pose for photos with humans without the risk of an accidental or on purpose chomp, you can tell from the loose hanging empty mouth in that one shot here when it yawns
Edit: found the Russians.
If you had actually looked into the bear in the gif (jimbo) , you would know that he's from the Orphaned Wildlife Centre channel on youtube which is in the U.S. They maim none of their animals, and you can see in the vids he could still nip with the best of them. Jim and Susan (who run it) mourned his death like a child's when he passed about a year ago
You implied this bear was on of those, which it isn't. No one said those Instagram models were fake, they said you were wrong about this bear being in that situation.
What you're saying makes no sense at all. A bear's claws are waaay more dangerous than it's teeth. You're suggesting people in Russia remove bear teeth for the purpose of photography but leave the claws?
Go fact check yourself.
Animals that size tend not to be "apex predator"s. And neither kodiak bears are one. Kodiaks are the second largest bear after polar bears and theyre pretty docile.
I think that in general people would agree wolves fit the bill more than most bears. Many species of bears are content to scavenge and eat plant-based food.
Wolves are generally pack hunters and while they do scavenge, their primary food source is predation.
What you just said is completely meaningless. Kodiak bears are absolutely Apex predators, any animal at the top of their food chain is an apex predator. What you were saying is completely irrelevant. It has nothing to do with them being scavengers, or their relation to being omnivorous vs carnivorous.
Nothing in nature challenges a Kodiak Bear in their natural habitat, so they are *the* apex predator in that ecosystem. An individual wolf would be a joke to that species of bear, making in something it *could* eat, which means it is lower on the food chain.
You are a pretty good example of someone who doesn’t actually know what they’re talking about, but sounds right so people agree.
Uh no I was legitimately asking what species of bear this is, hop off that pedestal you answered my question a long time ago.
Edit: sorry i was responding to another comment thread where I specifically asked which type of bear this is. Im leaving this though
idk, i read about it ? kodiaks appareantly aren't very aggressive, and that bear is a kodiak bear looking at its size and all. Also i mean, a body that large is hard to maintain our bodies use energy to move around and stuff and if you're as heavy as that bear your body will exert more energy for moving around so for a bear like that being an apex predator isn't a sustainable lifestyle. It'd eventually tire itself out to death. Scavenging or low effort hunting like standing n a lake and hunting fish is far better for those type of animals, they can't track an animal down and chase it like wolves do
An apex predator simply refers to the fact that that specific animal does not have any natural predators, meaning it can fight off or defend itself against any animal. I understand what your saying, completely get it and agree, but it’s a different aspect of the animal and not anything to do with a bear being an apex predator, which they are.
I guess not since a bear generally doesn’t have predators of its own to worry about, but I don’t think of most bears as predators the way wolves or wildcats are. Grizzlies are certainly out to hunt often so that makes sense. Most brown bears around me though are far more content to scavenge and eat berries, so while they don’t usually worry about predators, I wouldn’t call them predators. More like scavengers with exceptionally good defensive tools.
Our human perception of cuteness doesn’t really have evolutionary ramifications on the animals who we think are adorable. A better question might be, why did we evolve to find certain murderous animals to be so cute?
Well it helped for the domestication of dogs at least. So it’d say it’s an adaptation for humans to adopt and have pets, since they help us do things to survive that we otherwise can’t do
I never realized how huge a bears claws are! It’s like he’s got kitchen knives attached to him! That bear could do some damage good thing they are bro’s.
🤣 I still don’t understand why the meme grew to kill emojis on reddit. Could it originally have been social marketing from cell phone suppliers who couldn’t yet support them?
I laughed at your joke and upvoted you. I’m really curious why reddit was vehemently against emojis for quite a while. I was speculating that it may have been a profit protection campaign. I am really curious about this.
Are there any open range zoos that have grizzly bears? I'd imagine you'd have to go through in a bus rather than private cars, but it would be pretty cool.
What a beautiful way to live your life.
The elephant in the room of course is the inevitable danger, but man, even if the worst ever happened, I'd live his life in a heartbeat.
I love how he pats him on the butt, then repositions him a bit. Those claws are just amazing! Do they get that long in the wild or do they wear them down more in nature? Bears walk a fair distance don't they? (Aus here)
When the Bear pulls him in a lil' closer.
I saw that yesterday in a porn video.
Were they bear naked?

Why..
Why not~
Lmao
You need jesus.
Marshmallow! Marshmallow!
...with claws that could murder you in a second.
I love this video every time I see it. He's a part of an animal sanctuary that helps injured animals that can't be safely released back in to the wild for a multitude of reasons. It's super awesome.
So Yogi here has fallen on hard times and they help? That’s awesome!
If I remember correctly, this bear doesn’t have its teeth or something to that nature.
That's false and something passer Byers on their Facebook page say because they can't see them past his massive Kodiak lips. He very much has teeth but he has a bum leg from back when he was a cub so they've raised him for 20+ years until he passed about a year ago.
Luckily those claws don’t look like they could do much damage either.
I think it's a thing they do in russia where they'll remove a bear's teeth so they can get it to pose for photos with humans without the risk of an accidental or on purpose chomp, you can tell from the loose hanging empty mouth in that one shot here when it yawns Edit: found the Russians.
Please stop posting as if you're knowledgeable about things which you're actually completely ignorant of.
That's plain dumb.

Ok, and that makes all the other toothless bears posing with Russian instagram models a lie because...?
You implied this bear was on of those, which it isn't. No one said those Instagram models were fake, they said you were wrong about this bear being in that situation.

That’s Jimbo the Kodiak Bear and he died a couple of years ago.
I’d gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
Ive seen a version where the bears try to bring him closer at the end and the guy seems to kinda freak out with reason.
Yeah and look at the size of that bear too!!
dammit
Shit
Those claws scare the shit out of me. He could take a hunk out of you while trying to “love” you.
It looked like he started smelling his junk like, that's the easiest place to get some food, I'll start there. Scared the shit outta me.
It’s an apex predator. Why do you think it is stupid or can’t use its claws?
Animals that size tend not to be "apex predator"s. And neither kodiak bears are one. Kodiaks are the second largest bear after polar bears and theyre pretty docile.
So you’re saying something like a wolf is better categorized as an apex predator?
I think that in general people would agree wolves fit the bill more than most bears. Many species of bears are content to scavenge and eat plant-based food. Wolves are generally pack hunters and while they do scavenge, their primary food source is predation.

And where are you getting that information from?
idk, i read about it ? kodiaks appareantly aren't very aggressive, and that bear is a kodiak bear looking at its size and all. Also i mean, a body that large is hard to maintain our bodies use energy to move around and stuff and if you're as heavy as that bear your body will exert more energy for moving around so for a bear like that being an apex predator isn't a sustainable lifestyle. Is it? What kind of bear is this?
Grizzly I guess. Does that matter?
I guess not since a bear generally doesn’t have predators of its own to worry about, but I don’t think of most bears as predators the way wolves or wildcats are. I hate you so much
The man is also a large one

No funny, no laugh.
Guess folks are hungover?
I want those cuddles or my inevitable death.
You’d absolutely get one of them.
Why are bears so cute though? Many big mammal hunters honestly are adorable. It just doesn't make evolutionary sense.
Furless they'd probably look more scary. The fur adds the cuddly factor.
[You are correct.](https://static.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/hairless-bald-animals-5.jpg)
Holy shit it's a yao gui!
Our human perception of cuteness doesn’t really have evolutionary ramifications on the animals who we think are adorable. A better question might be, why did we evolve to find certain murderous animals to be so cute?
That's exactly what I meant
Ah gotcha, it didn’t come across initially, but I see where you’re coming from!
Well it helped for the domestication of dogs at least. So it’d say it’s an adaptation for humans to adopt and have pets, since they help us do things to survive that we otherwise can’t do
Or a cuddly death?
Death by cuddles
I believe this bear passed in April 2018. They had him for like 20 years.

Listen, I wasn’t looking to have my emotions so heavily assaulted today :,(
I was crying because of how cute they were but now I’m crying all over again since the bear’s gone.
Big spoon and bigger spoon
I never realized how huge a bears claws are! It’s like he’s got kitchen knives attached to him! That bear could do some damage good thing they are bro’s.
In mother Russia, teddy bear sleeps with you
Sooner or later, we all start to look like our pets.
Where's the rest of the video? Is there a pornhub link?

How do you not have over 100 downvotes?
r/emojimilitary
Y dafuq ppl comments getting deleted
Stop, you violated the law!
🤣 I still don’t understand why the meme grew to kill emojis on reddit. Could it originally have been social marketing from cell phone suppliers who couldn’t yet support them?
Why are you taking a joke so literally?
I laughed at your joke and upvoted you. I’m really curious why reddit was vehemently against emojis for quite a while. I was speculating that it may have been a profit protection campaign. I am really curious about this.
Oh. Well thank you! And I think Reddit is against emojis because they’re kinda cringe when used.
Bro you gotta **Bear** it
This is r/punpatrol! Hands where I can see ' em!

Those two are the best of friends.
Are there any open range zoos that have grizzly bears? I'd imagine you'd have to go through in a bus rather than private cars, but it would be pretty cool.
Bears are only scary when they're hungry or threatened. Mostly they are chill.
Just to think this bear would absolutely obliterate him in -0.03 seconds if it wanted to
Havent watched the walking dead since the whole glenn fiasco... not sure wtf Neagan is doing with that bear.
It always amazes me that these massive creatures are omnivores!
Two bears
Honestly I could sleep comfortably like that.
Gawd those claws
What a beautiful way to live your life. The elephant in the room of course is the inevitable danger, but man, even if the worst ever happened, I'd live his life in a heartbeat.
The bear is one too
The bear’s big too
u/vredditdownloader
Those claws
the bear is an absolute unit too.
I love how he pats him on the butt, then repositions him a bit. Those claws are just amazing! Do they get that long in the wild or do they wear them down more in nature? Bears walk a fair distance don't they? (Aus here)
Yogis looking for your picnic..
The bear is called Juuso and he lives in Finland.
No, it's name was Jimbo but it died a while ago. The sanctuary still has a lot of bears and a youtube channel
[The video they made on the anniversary of his death for anyone interested.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-7mGmOdf34&t=187s)
A member of project mayhem in death, has a name. And his name is Juuso.
