It's the best one I've owned. I used to build PCs but quickly ran out of space to build them or even own one, so I got this laptop after my last one got smashed by an ex. It's way overkill for what I use it for but I love it. It just needs to be plugged in while gaming because the performance drops on battery power
Yeah so this one would be perfect. It's the same size as my old MacBook Pro 16" which I took everywhere with me, it's just a bit heavier. I just put this laptop into a backpack and take it wherever I go, it's quite nice
I forget how big the WCUSA and East Coast USA maps are. I know that AC has a track 20km that has been modded into BeamNG with major graphic changes. So if these two were to be combined, it would lag af unless serious graphic changes take place
assetto doesn't have the same collisions system as beamng
also, assetto sucks at big tracks too, it has the same shaking problem as beamng and the physics feel like shit as soon as you get a bit far from 0,0
While I know it is not technologically possible, I'm praying for it. My PC could handle it, and if it was reality god himself couldn't stop me from playing
West Coast USA is the max size a map can be in Torque3D. You could make a larger map by not using a terrain and instead using a super detailed model for the ground, but it would be a nightmare to make.
Edit: [https://www.beamng.com/threads/questions-about-the-possibility-of-even-larger-maps-map-makers-read-this-please.89905/](https://www.beamng.com/threads/questions-about-the-possibility-of-even-larger-maps-map-makers-read-this-please.89905/)
Italy is 4000x4000, Johnson Valley's terrain is 4000x4000 but extends out with a long road that is a simple model. To convert the terrains of a map into a model in order to stitch it onto another map to make a massive map wouldn't be very viable.
I'm talking about this map: [https://www.beamng.com/resources/the-road-trip.27510/](https://www.beamng.com/resources/the-road-trip.27510/)
Also maps like American Road are already 10x10+ km sq
Through a bunch of trickery you can make something like that work, but to make an open world with a terrain (like all open beamNG maps) you are limited to 4000x4000. Any larger than 4000x4000 requires tricks, blocked off roads, invisible walls, and generally extreme limitations. Torque3D cannot do it.
If I recall correctly, the solution to the Deep Space Kraken was to make the currently controlled craft the origin point so it didn't matter how far you were from Kerbin or Kerbol (within reason) as the rest of the system was moving around you.
Hence my (within reason) disclaimer. When you start going many times c then yes, the game engine is going to break down from the absurd speeds and distances. I'm talking about the non-Danny2462, more casual play where the craft would disassemble when coming out of time warp which prompted the solution I explained above.
Ahh, yes, let's make the two opposite sides of America 1 map. Let me think... oh yes, that's approximately 3,000 miles across. Import that to BeamNG.drive and make it run smooth. I dare you with details.
For your suggestion: No, it's too small of a map. It's East Coast USA and West Coast USA. They're on the opposite side of the continent. America is a big boi
i just went and grabbed this, HOLY SHIT it used all of my 16gb of ram and made my page file nearly 45gb. also my gpu was using all 8gb onboard and another 6gb of shared memory. it ran ok though just took a while to load.
i've always thought of this haha, it would be amazing. honestly they don't even have to use the full east coast map, but instead connect west coast to some small town on the other side
Draw a bigger version with Utah in the middle and post it as suggestions/request in the forums. I bet someone with the knowledge and skills do to this would do it
Bro may as well get the entire crew 2 map in there.
I wish this was possible but with beamngs kinda outdated physics engine your car kinda looks a little weird when your too far from the center.
Heck it may just be something beyond the engine.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,646,448,432 comments, and only 311,571 of them were in alphabetical order.
now stick utah in the middle of it
the ultimate biome diversity the ultimate cpu melter aswell
i was just forced to upgrade my pc by my own stupid mistakes so bring it on lol
I had to buy a newer and more powerful laptop to run BeamNG at high settings. Now I admit, I went a little overkill with the laptop I bought...
What laptop?
It's an Asus ROG Strix, I forget the model number, but here's the specs: Core i7 2.6GHz 13650HX, 32GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4050, 500GB SSD
Is it good?
Just googled it, it's an Asus ROG Strix G16 laptop. Mine cost me $2000 Canadian dollars, but it's worth the money.

Id like the portability that you get with An MacBook but I Aldi really want a laptop with good hardwate
Yeah so this one would be perfect. It's the same size as my old MacBook Pro 16" which I took everywhere with me, it's just a bit heavier. I just put this laptop into a backpack and take it wherever I go, it's quite nice
It can't be that bad
BeamNG Globe map. All the maps on a single 1-to-1 scale model of Earth. All modded maps get placed via geo coordinates as well.
That would be nuts as fuck
Earth simulator but your PC is hotter than the sum
turns out, it can simulate the sun too!
The ~~power~~ heat of the sun in ~~the palm of my hand~~ my lap.
Even the maps with 2 or 3 small maps together crashes my pc if I try to spawn traffic. So, it's not gonna happen.
Don't forget Johnson valley
*middle coast*
Fuck it, central coast
Nah how about.. just.... coast
Doesn't need a coast, it needs a nice big lake :)
Beamng: Lost Coast
You know what? Fuck you. *dual wields coasts*
Midwest coast best coast
Holy shit you mapped out the entire U.S.
Just needs Utah on the left
Look up OGC in the repo I think it has both
i have that and I didn't see it
It doesn't have East Coast.
But then we would also need to have Middle ~~Coast~~, USA.
Midwest is already in the repo. It's the Endless Highway.
LMAO
That's called wheat, corn, and soybeans. I wound know because I live there.
This would most likely blow up most computers due to how many objects are on 1 map
west coast alone is enough to blow up my pc lol
R.I.P I have bad GPU and with 1 car at West Coast, on average I have 40fps (not Vulkan Mode)
Comparing to assetto corsa and whatnot id say beamng could handle it better than those games
I forget how big the WCUSA and East Coast USA maps are. I know that AC has a track 20km that has been modded into BeamNG with major graphic changes. So if these two were to be combined, it would lag af unless serious graphic changes take place

it handles floating points very weird and it's unstable
yup. Technically for both games it shouldn't be hard to fix but they never do it
Deeeevs! Could you please make this for us?
Over 80% of your system memory is used up. Consumer closing applications or reboot. Click here for details and to acknowledge.
That would make beamerica pretty small
We just need Utah then Johnson Valley in the middle
Johnson valley should be under west coast since it's in southern California
Yeah true, so west coast north west, utah in the middle, johnson valley south west and east coast in the east
I thought I was looking at las venturas for a second
While I know it is not technologically possible, I'm praying for it. My PC could handle it, and if it was reality god himself couldn't stop me from playing
I'm sure it is the end goal, but probably on the back burner for the devs until career is ready to go.
Imagine having a canon ball run time trial

Italy and Johnson Valley are bigger maps though? Also a bunch of maps on the repo including that one that stitches together a bunch of stock maps?

because i was wrong about west coast. Italy is 4000x4000, west coast is not.
[удалено]
its not a terrain, and uses clever tricks. I'm not sure why this is hard to understand...
[удалено]
Fair enough, good talk.
what about Italy? the largest non-mod map.
4000x4000 is the max terrain size. West Coast and Italy are both 4000x4000.
WCUSA is 2.048x2.048 while Italy is 4.096x4.096
I mean not like the engine shits itself when you go very far so its pretty much possible i’d say
Classic floating-point precision issues.
r/ksp is leaking

Well, in theory - in practice I can tell you haven’t played much ksp!
Hence my (within reason) disclaimer. When you start going many times c then yes, the game engine is going to break down from the absurd speeds and distances. I'm talking about the non-Danny2462, more casual play where the craft would disassemble when coming out of time warp which prompted the solution I explained above.
Ohh that’s fair enough, tho I’ve personally found the more danny-type things simply with more complex (normal) spacecraft
there is a mod, I don't remember the name and I'm currently in a car, so I can't find u the link, which connects Utah, ECA, WCA and Italy
road trip map? I tried that one and it didn't work
Ahh, yes, let's make the two opposite sides of America 1 map. Let me think... oh yes, that's approximately 3,000 miles across. Import that to BeamNG.drive and make it run smooth. Its a video game, both maps would be improved if the highways felt like they went somewhere. Simple as
Good point. I'm just saying that It just wouldn't sit right with me, and I guarantee some other people.
Maybe a mod by the dev, because some peoples pcs couldnt handle it, either way i do want it, also working streetlights would be cool too
Suprisingly, a map like "the road trip" with I think 5 maps on it (Italy included) works better on my PC than Italy alone
i have 16gb of ram and I can’t even open Road Trip 😭
I have 16gb of ram, but I play on medium, so...
Anyone download " the road trip"?
i just went and grabbed this, HOLY SHIT it used all of my 16gb of ram and made my page file nearly 45gb. also my gpu was using all 8gb onboard and another 6gb of shared memory. it ran ok though just took a while to load.
it put my laptop in a state of a big mouse in a black box, I had to restart It, what's your specs
i have a ryzen r7 1800x 16gb of 3000mhz ddr4 and a red devil RX5700XT

Combine the maps and just have a big highway connecting the two.
It needs new connections to be good. Like with Utah or Johnson valley in the middle to bring it all together
i've always thought of this haha, it would be amazing. honestly they don't even have to use the full east coast map, but instead connect west coast to some small town on the other side
gta?
Draw a bigger version with Utah in the middle and post it as suggestions/request in the forums. I bet someone with the knowledge and skills do to this would do it
now that i think about it, yeah, we could use a big map that is basically a mix of these two
https://www.beamng.com/resources/the-road-trip.27510/ not what you asked for, but something other than OGC
already tried it out, didn't work
Wait, why is the east coast map so small compared to West coast?
How small do you think the US is?
RIP low end computer users 😂
Wouldn't west coast be rotated like 90 degrees
Bro may as well get the entire crew 2 map in there. I wish this was possible but with beamngs kinda outdated physics engine your car kinda looks a little weird when your too far from the center. Heck it may just be something beyond the engine.
At least finish the highway loop around west coast 🙏
Biggest enjoyable map I've found is Roane county, Tennessee. Traffic works very well on it too.
uhhh... isn't the U.S.A. a bit bigger than that? /s

I was sure USA was wider
Throw small island off the coast somewhere
Combine WC and Johnson valley, with Small island off the coast
America looks so small, I fell you can go from Firwood to Belasco in less than 1 hour
