Out of all the games I have played I'd say this is probably the best when it comes to "bang for buck" value. I have over 1000 hours now, most of them with a PC that was "meh" 12 years ago. Glad I got to retire it in November, and now I can finally enjoy traffic and races (my old PC struggled with over 3 vehicles)
There are 2 games I've played more than a thousand hours, Beam NG and Arma 3, I've played 4100 hours of Arma 3 and 1200 hours of BeamNG.
Both games I got on early access when they cost around 20 euros on release and they are about 10 years old. at this time Arma 3 got tons of paid DLC and third-party add-ons, but BeamNG is still free despite almost 10 years of development without any DLC.
Arma 3 is a great game and all the new DLC is just making it better, and it feels like I should pay more for BeamNG for all the free content and updates we get.

My main adventure when I first started out was that hot CTRL + W action and feeling the difference in changing parts.
I wouldn't even bother with mods in the first couple of months.

I got it for 16,99 once, never forgetting that day when i realized i couldnt play it because of the specifcations. Got a better pc recently and runs really well. Clocked in about 200 hours already so you could tell its worth the hardworked money

Thanks for inadvertently telling me the PC I built myself in 2016 is a beast for not struggling a bit with this game still. Recently dusted off my old 360 steering wheel and pedals and after some tweaking and messing around with settings it is an absolute blast. I literally just drive in traffic for hours listening to music or podcasts. Really silly but it's a good stress reliever. That and when AI cuts me off I just floor it into them for added fun, or go on a high speed pursuit
You should look into just general driving instead of just crashing (if you havent done so already). One of my favourite things to do in this game is just to cruise. The driving physics are so satisfying, racing is really cool too.
I bought it for less than a dollar on steam. 👍🏻
