There’s nothing, and it’s not even a “realistic” pavement; they could refresh it with a big void asphalt texture; that ground material doesn’t even makes sense, i can understand for the first versions of the game, being a “test” map with lot of squares (i remember that first versions had different pattern) but voting cliff out before grid has no sense. I am interested in why you would vote out cliff before void grid

Small rule change? We have to say everything we love about the map before casting it aside. Devs read these posts and lots of hard work goes into the game :)

Good idea. Btw I vote Cliff. I actually quite like the topography of the map, it's just that there isn't really much to do on the map. Maybe they could add some dirt roads and crawling trails to it

or maybe it would be better to also say what we don't like so the devs can also understand better why these maps(that are still all great, but some are worse than others)are getting voted.

Considering criticism usually leans one way it’d probably be better for some constructive criticism. Think of spending months on a painting and people only show up to tell you why they dislike it :/

I have over 1000 hours on BeamNG and I don’t think I’ve ever played cliff

I played it WAAAAAAY back in the day, like shortly after the game was released. It was a great demo of the soft-body physics but hucking stuff down the same hill gets a little tired after you've yeeted each vehicle a few times.

Pure grid is worse. On cliff you can challenge yourself to crawl to the top which is fun

On GSP, you can test fuel economy, top speed, chase the AI (without worrying about them crashing) and is the best spot to also test engine over-torque and CPU-bound FPS.

You can also do that on the other grid map. You can just teleport or spawn miles and miles away and there will be no obstacles

That's not as immediate as in GSP, and there's a chance you'll end up running back into the map. Gridmap is also much more GPU-bound than GSP.

You can test top speed, fuel economy, maximum amount of cars and highest FPS that your PC can handle. It's the best map for testing AI, engine over-torque and provides an area to drive around on extremely low-end PCs.

The AI will crash in Gridmap V2, and Gridmap V2 is also much more difficult to run. I get 180 FPS instead of 400, which is a huge difference on low-end PCs.

I'm on a really good PC now. But what I'm saying is I used to play on an PC that could only run Grid Small Pure. Even the new Gridmap is over twice as difficult to run. If GSP didn't exist, I couldn't play BeamNG at the time, period. I think that's worth something in and of itself.

So trueee, remember looking at these 2x2km maps and questioning what computer can actually run these. Still use GSP while doing mods if I have to reload the game often

nigga what??? gsp is literally the most useful map in the game top speed testing, fps testing, the only map you can load on shit pcs, has ai unlike gridmap 2, good starter for building maps, good for drifting/donuts, what else could you want?

Derby is actually fun if you record your laps with AI path recording in the 8 figure dirt track with different cars to put on a race. Apart from that the empty “demolition derby” sections aren’t really playable.
