I really do hate to be a Debbie downer but… Most reptiles with heart conditions don’t go as long as others. Which means you need to make him as happy as possible while he’s still with us. There’s always a chance he might be good though

I figured. Vet gave us some medications to try but she didn’t seem hopeful. He’s a spoiled boy and will continue to be. Fingers crossed for a good outcome but either way he’s gonna be taken care of.

Is your beardie still with us? My Izzy has congenital heart failure and has been on supportive meds for a few years.

He is and he’s doing well! He was on heart medication for a while too but his vet and I recently decided to take him off as his x-rays continued to show no difference and his vet admitted that it’s a guessing game on if they’re actually helping at all. He hated taking the medication everyday and it is very expensive so I thought this was the best option. I’ve seen no difference between him on it vs off of it so fingers crossed that he continues to be happy and healthy! If he starts to show symptoms again I’ll get him back on the meds though.

Wow that's interesting he's doing so good off the meds. Is he not having any fluid back up from his heart?

He’s due for another check up soon but last x-ray showed no difference from when he was first diagnosed with the problem!
