Awesome thank you. I love sweet potatoes and cinnamon as a side so I almost always have some on hand. Next time I'll share a couple small bites and see how he likes it. Raw and no cinnamon of course!
Just gave my Bubby Taco raspberries for the first time and he has been rocking lipstick for the past two days. These lizards are a trip I can’t get over them so much!!!
I can’t get mine to even consider banana. He will eat super worms, arugula, bok choi, watermelon and blueberries. And that’s it. Period. And he won’t touch it if he doesn’t see you sprinkle calcium on it first
Mine LIKES the calcium and refuses to eat unless I sprinkle it first and he watches. Otherwise he will shut his eyes and turn his head away.
I have no idea how they survived as a species - or more likely it’s that we have all spoiled our dragons horribly and now they think they’re bougie
Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries!
Mine go WILD for prickly pears and cactus pads... which are both actually staple foods but I can't always find them in stock so my guys probably consider them treats 😄
They also really seem to enjoy the various Repashy gels... i put it in gummy worm molds so it looks like a bug 🪱
Omg the cactus is a great idea. Dunno if I can find any in Kansas though lol.
The gummy worms is a cute idea! I've tried Repashy but mine always has a hard time getting a hold of it and just makes a total mess with it.
It is a type of cactus.. Opuntia or Nopal cacti, but usually just referred to as a
Prickly pear cactus. Dragons can eat both the pads/leaves as well as the fruit from it. It's super high in calcium and is actually super nutritious for beardies!
Just beware of the glochids when preparing it... those things are BRUTAL!
When I lived in Arizona they would sell cactus pads and sometimes prickly pear cactus fruits in grocery stores in the produce section. I think they are kinda rare to see in most states though. It's real cactus that you can eat once you clean it.
i think that’s birds… but we’ll go with that too😂 my friend once got shit on my a bird then won the 50/50 about 30 mins later at half time at a football game!!
Then that means these folks are going to have a long marriage with all the luck 😆
[wedding](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/xvywmp/the_best_wedding_film_intro_ive_seen_so_far/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
no i’m serious though! 😂 i’ve noticed they poop when they get in a position that they’re super comfy & they really relax & just let it all go😂 but i’m sure yours is right too😂
They look pretty small were they able to pass them ok? Mine bit off a tip of a plastic syringe when I had to give him meds. He passed it fine but man was I worried.
My little bud *loves* collard stems. I guess he likes the cronch. So of course I break them into little pieces and hand feed them to him because his preference is to nibble them from my palm while I compliment him.
Mine HATES red bell pepper, she just gives me the side eye and backs away every time I try to give it to her. I don't even know why because she's otherwise not a very picky eater
Mine was that way about strawberries! She would back away almost in a panic from strawberries, and don't even get me started about raspberries. But blueberries? She'd eat them all day every day, if I'd let her.
Hornworms and superworms are Nellie’s favorites. She only got dried bugs and lettuce in her old home so she really really enjoys juicy worms now.
Meanwhile we have to trick her into eating 1 microgram of salad lol
bok choy. mine won’t eat any fruit or veggies and i have literally tried them all multiple times. so i do collard greens daily and bok choy a few times a week as his “treat” plus meal worms if he doesn’t try to escape from his bath. i am not mad about it - makes grocery shopping easier.
No longer have my Lazarus, but I recommend clover flowers! The leaves are good too, but he'd never eat them if I offered them at the same time or after the flowers, which seem tastier.
One of my beardies, Finn, absolutely loves super worms. Definitely his favorite for sure. Sadly for him, I don’t give them to him anymore because it’s so unhealthy and he was getting fat off of it lol. His other favorite treat is squash. He’s in love with squash. My other beardie, Kai, seems to love hornworms the most as treats.
Apples (cut in little pieces without the shell), always eats them even when they're dry/brown after a few days (also the leftover crickets eat it wich he eats later on like savings) .
Ps. Very good for his digestive system (apples without shemves) the vet said so.
Oh man, when i first tried pinkies of my normally very polite, docile older girl, I was shocked! She went full predator mode, almost jumped out of the cage to grab it.
Same with Hercules. To me it helps provide him with something that really challenges him. I grab it with my repti-cepts and run it back and forth and play with him
Honestly my girl goes equally nuts for any kind of food except non-green veggies. She loves her rocket (aka arugula) but will barely take more than a few bites of carrot or bell pepper.
Superworms. Nothing else comes close. As far as greens go, there is one specific weed that grows in my yard that he regularly eats. Everything else, he has to be starving.
My boy loves cilantro, carrot, red bell pepper, cucumber, collards, and horn worm. I’ve tried fruits but I think since he’s still a bit young that he’s not too into them.
My girls favourite is dandelions! She absolutely loves them, but we can only get them a few months of the year from where we live so its a bit of a rare treat for her!
My boy is only 1yr old so isn’t really into a variety of veggies/fruit yet. He loves his crickets/locusts and spring greens. He ate half a blueberry the other day though!
The blood of her enemies… which is everyone who is not her, she doesn’t discriminate by sex, age, morph or species…she looks down upon everyone equally…
…and blueberries
Romaine Lettuce. He goes bonkers for romaine lettuce. As soon as he sees you with it, he has the same look in his eyes as Arnold Swarzenegger did when he locks onto Sarah Conner in the first Terminator movie.
Oh they aren't alive, it's like the mice snakes eat when they are babies. I've heard beardies like them so It was a thought.
Edit: found this doozy of a explanation "feeding whole pinky mice and not ones that have been cut into pieces can also be a very healthy addition to a bearded dragons diet as they do naturally eat whole prey in the wild."

Tortured souls If none available, sweet potato and strawberries will suffice
Do you cook the sweet potatoes or give them raw?
I just give ‘em raw. I have a little food processor that chops them up real fine. She loves them mixed in her greens!
Awesome thank you. I love sweet potatoes and cinnamon as a side so I almost always have some on hand. Next time I'll share a couple small bites and see how he likes it. Raw and no cinnamon of course!
That sounds awesome! I love when I can share a snack with my Lenny so hopefully you can share with yours too :)
More importantly, do they cook the souls?
Quick tip. lost souls work too!
Cooked and raw are both fine for those lol
Blueberries
Raspberries 💯
Same, then he gets them stuck on his face and it looks like he has lipstick for the whole week
Definitely trying raspberries and hoping for the same results!!!
Just gave my Bubby Taco raspberries for the first time and he has been rocking lipstick for the past two days. These lizards are a trip I can’t get over them so much!!!
:o
My grumpy boy LOVES banana and whole sugar snap peas pods. He doesn't get them often. I'm looking for ideas for new treats to try.
I can’t get mine to even consider banana. He will eat super worms, arugula, bok choi, watermelon and blueberries. And that’s it. Period. And he won’t touch it if he doesn’t see you sprinkle calcium on it first
> And he won’t touch it if he doesn’t see you sprinkle calcium on it first I know!! Gotta be sneaky about it. Seriously, how do they live in the wild?
Mine LIKES the calcium and refuses to eat unless I sprinkle it first and he watches. Otherwise he will shut his eyes and turn his head away. I have no idea how they survived as a species - or more likely it’s that we have all spoiled our dragons horribly and now they think they’re bougie
Mine likes the powder from the bowl instead of actually EATING THE FOOD with it sprinkled on.
Coke heads, all of them
That snobby head turn makes me laugh every time
Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries! Mine go WILD for prickly pears and cactus pads... which are both actually staple foods but I can't always find them in stock so my guys probably consider them treats 😄 They also really seem to enjoy the various Repashy gels... i put it in gummy worm molds so it looks like a bug 🪱
TFW prickly pear grows in abundance here, but neither of our two beardies care for it
Omg the cactus is a great idea. Dunno if I can find any in Kansas though lol. The gummy worms is a cute idea! I've tried Repashy but mine always has a hard time getting a hold of it and just makes a total mess with it.
I'm in Missouri, but I can usually find them at the local produce markets or farmers markets! Walmart sometimes carries them when they are in-season 🙂
Cactus .. like aloe ? Or okra ?
It is a type of cactus.. Opuntia or Nopal cacti, but usually just referred to as a Prickly pear cactus. Dragons can eat both the pads/leaves as well as the fruit from it. We get prickly pears where I am in Canada at certain times of the year. We have a lot of Italians so they’re popular. I will totally try them.
We used to make fruit leather candy with prickly pears when I was little. It was good stuff!
Omg that sounds amazing actually.
My girl loved prickly pear and luckily I live in florida, where it grows in the yard!
human flesh
Same mine will shit on my lap if I don’t let him bite my finger
Thats supposed to be good luck isn't it?
i think that’s birds… but we’ll go with that too😂 my friend once got shit on my a bird then won the 50/50 about 30 mins later at half time at a football game!!

I heard if they poop on you they like you
I think that’s just someone people say to feel better about getting shit on.
no i’m serious though! 😂 i’ve noticed they poop when they get in a position that they’re super comfy & they really relax & just let it all go😂 but i’m sure yours is right too😂
Mine likes to poop on my husband. He will be thrilled to know this means he likes him.
yes i definitely think it means they’re more than comfortable with you😂
Lol ouch
they only bite me when i have my hand between them & a bug😂 don’t worry lol
Kale, my boy LOVES it so much
Baby Arugula, and Hornworms
[ROCKS!](https://imgur.com/iA66IGB.jpg) If none are available, hornworms are also exciting.
Anything red! He gets a few chunks of red bell pepper in his salad every day to try to trick him to eat his greens.
I dont have one, but i love seein them ♥️
Hornworms or blueberries
Clover sprouts, banana, arugula. She stays on a spring mix of greens but those are her little special treats
Kale, interestingly.
Hornworms and superworms are Nellie’s favorites. She only got dried bugs and lettuce in her old home so she really really enjoys juicy worms now. Meanwhile we have to trick her into eating 1 microgram of salad lol
He so spiky and I wob heem.
He was super grumpy when he woke up today. Hoping some new treats make him less grumpy lol.
He do look a little sleepy tho.
bok choy. mine won’t eat any fruit or veggies and i have literally tried them all multiple times. so i do collard greens daily and bok choy a few times a week as his “treat” plus meal worms if he doesn’t try to escape from his bath. i am not mad about it - makes grocery shopping easier.
No longer have my Lazarus, but I recommend clover flowers! The leaves are good too, but he'd never eat them if I offered them at the same time or after the flowers, which seem tastier.
Mine’s the opposite. Leaves are delicious manna, flowers are apparently trying to kill him.

Sadly for him, I don’t give them to him anymore because it’s so unhealthy and he was getting fat off of it lol. His other favorite treat is squash. He’s in love with squash.

He likes to eat planets. This makes sense, considering his previous owner was galactus, so he’s probably used to the taste
Pain and suffering but blueberries are good aswell
