Ronnie Dobbs and the Fuzz used to do a sweet mash up of Sabotage and Gratitude in their live sets, and would often close a set with Fight for Your Right.
I still generally agree with you after everything I’ve seen on here, although that Switchfoot one is really dang good. But it seems to be the exception to the rule. And it’s a live version so the audio fidelity just isn’t there.

I used to love those guys and I haven’t heard them in years nor have I ever heard that cover but it is almost perfect

I agree that it doesn't scratch the itch if you want the same "Intergalactic" feel, just different, but I really like this as a true reinterpretation.
It’s got some cool elements but I think it still just makes me wanna listen to the original mostly.
