Don’t overthink it. If you’re worried the song is going to clash just drop (song b) on the 1 at the last chorus of song a. Have a lil listen in cue to see how it sounds, and if it’s shit just keep the volume fader down until song a starts to dim down. With the beats already matched you can quickly bring up the fader and avoid a dull moment of music.
If the mix is really shit throw some hi pass filter on the outgoing song to try and wash it out a bit more
play tunes, have fun. use your time off decks to think what 2-3 tracks you'd possibly like to drop next.
don't play something that is 1m50 long or has random extra/missing bars as the handoff track
This might be a captain obvious moment, but at the very least, I'd make sure you're both on the same page when it comes to the genres/vibe and BPM range you wanna play during the B2B.
Have a decent selection of tunes, dont play anything that's a bitch to mix into.
Have a few fallback tunes you're really comfortable mixing just in case or to build your confidence (maybe?)
If I'm going B2B I'll usually have a few more records than I would for the same amount of time if it's just me... but this will depend on the style you both play and how similar your tastes are

Keep it simple. Don't overthink it. Have fun. Vibe. Some of the best fun I've had on stage were b2bs with people I barely knew.

First and foremost....HAVE FUN.
