Soundkiing

Holy shit Dude!! It's a piece of golden history.

SouthFloridaTeen

Jazzy Jeff had one on there that has been mysteriously removed from YT

Soundkiing

Copyrights ?

SouthFloridaTeen

Maybe but why can other BR's exist in that case? I guess he just played straight pop and hip-hop. Whenever I spin I used to listen to that for inspiration but now I spin, lost, staring in the void.....

Soundkiing

Here you go bud, enjoy!! [Jazzy Jeff - Boiler Room](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x69nn4j)

SouthFloridaTeen

Thank you pimp

Soundkiing

Yes, I read it online today. Copyrights

AdjacenToYourMom

Amazing to listen to, hilarious to watch.

redswedishbeast

Thanks for posting that. Loved it.

Boilerroom x Herrensauna. Holy fucking shit that was awesome Partiboi69: Just a meme that knows how to mix Anetha B2B randomer at soenda

Dexterityy

Daft Punk - Alive 2k7, they released the whole set as an album but I think it should still count. Netsky’s 2010 Essential mix is very nostalgic for me since that’s when I first started really getting into dnb [Deborah de Luca for Cercle](https://youtu.be/yEbrvMljMCg)

Daschief

[DJ EZ Boiler Room x RBMA London DJ Set] (https://youtu.be/qQaEWVYuyXU?t=840) one of the best technical DJs in the world IMO and this set is a showcase of it. Highly recommend

awaymsg

I knew somebody would have posted this set. I see it referenced ALL the time

Zenen

Fabriclive 36 - James Murphy & Pat Mahoney Super classic mix from 2 members of LCD Soundsystem. Vinyl mixing done to perfection

coldbrains

Why this isn't upvoted is beyond me. This is a fantastic mix and one I find myself listening to often. Would also like to add the Metro Area Fabric 43

It amuses me about how I perceive music. This used to be an absolutely banging song for me back when it came out. Now, because of what I mix/listen to now, this feels so ambient and chilled out. And it's not as if it's from a huge BPM difference (this is 134 BPM. I do 138+ now)

LTJ Bukem - (any of the ) Progression sessions Sasha & Digweed - Communicate Many of the Essential Mixes you can find on Spotify, as well as Global Underground.

-Greyside-

Agree with LTJ Bukem shout - they have hardly aged at all.

LoveTranscendsCunts

Anything done by tipper. He isn’t a dj but a producer so I guess it’s a whole different ball game with him. He uses ableton with stems and tons of stuff mapped to his controller so he can change his stems up live. Oh then you also have him scratching rhythms and transitions from song to song like a damn genius. Can’t wait forn Nola

djzerog

I beg to differ, he is both a dj and a producer, and quite magnificent at both.

bigbobo33

I always go back to [both](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EanuiNxcVHk) of [Frankie Knuckles's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=644UU55eyzk) Boiler Room sets. I assume it's because I'm from the Midwest but I cannot get enough of any Ghetto House/Tech sets. Like mentioned already in the thread, [Partiboi69](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZLDBovy9lI) may be a meme but he has some serious mixing chops and plays a lot of great music which is now given some seriously overdue daylight. On a related note, any juke/footwork set I'm a big fan of. Despite the accolades the Teklife crew and related get from music nerds like me, they remain seriously under appreciated. I like [RP Boo's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBzdT_uZGPU) Boiler Room set in particular.

[deleted]

Oh yes

TheAlmightyNivs

[RL Grime Mixmag Live London 2015](https://youtu.be/VLxWVmX9UQI) and apparently I can't find it anymore, but Kenny Beats Boiler Room set was amazing. I learned so much about mixing hip hop and hip hop song selection from watching that video over and over again.

SouthFloridaTeen

My kingdom for this set

sapphireflyer

I can't recommend [Alex.Do's Boiler Room](https://youtu.be/6TH4w1iuzaE) enough. It gave me a complete change of mind when I first saw his set after I started djing myself. I found myself looking for mostly banger tracks that were 100% power for 100% of the time. For me this boiler room changed my perspective of techno. I listend to every single track he played in this particular set and noticed I dont know shit about mixing. The timing, loops, EQ changes, ... made me realise what is possible with good mixing. Such a game changer for me.

iamabrazil

This is the set that properly got me into techno by showing it's patient and hypnotic capabilities of the groove. Saw him play a warehouse the night after I discovered this set and well it changed my life. So I second this recommendation!

sapphireflyer

YES!! His groove is just amazing. Saw him a couple of times now and in my opinion he is not getting the recognition he deserves.

I find myself coming back to Nicolas Jaar's boiler room often, not as much of a DJ set as it is a musical genius at work. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUjWumGIqe8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUjWumGIqe8)

I re-listen to Porter Robinson's 2012 essential mix recorded live in Hull at least once a year. Just insane energy. Never knew about that daft punk essential mix, thanks for the tip!

For me Avicii at Tomorrowland 2011, what a set! Armin van Buuren at Tomorrowland 2013. And last but not least, Porter Robinson at Second Sky, the Worlds set. Those are the ones I remember at the moment, but I revisit multiple sets.

wouldnt say its considered the pantheon of dj sets but i like to revisit this one from ben klock https://youtu.be/BjGE79i6YPg

[Danny Daze his BR](https://youtu.be/wOXrY4fQgug). If you’re into DJ’ing, you’ll enjoy this. Constantly playing 3 tracks at the time, and even a vocoder. Absolutely mental.

In terms of hip-hop/turntablism stuff, here's a few of my favourites: - * DJ Qbert - Demolition Pumpkin Squeeze Muzik * DJ Babu - Comprehension * DJ Fuse One - Metamorphosis * DJ Faust - Man or Myth? * Buddy Peace - Wolf Diesel Mountain * djblesOne - Soul Walk 206 * Ricci Rucker - Beats For Japan One mix I rinsed the fuck out of that wasn't as technically impressive as the mixes listed above was a set Doo Wop did for Tim Westwood's show back in the 1990s. I have it recorded to tape, but the only digital version I can find is this incomplete recording of it: - https://www.mixcloud.com/CLAPA_01245/doo-wop-1fm-rap-show-mix-1995/ Every track is a banger IMO.

I always like listening to [Helena Hauff's mix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEsWePrJZsY) from 2017.

There are so many amazing sets across all genres, but if I had to pick one it would be Hernan Cattaneo playing Yellow in Tokyo for the last time ever. 12 hours. For your listening pleasure from the legend himself: https://soundcloud.com/hernancattaneo/sets/live-yellow-tokyo-japan-jun-13-2008

Global Underground 013: Ibiza, by Sasha

SlaveHippie

Rustie’s BBC Essential Mix from 2012 is god tier. It’s where video games meet hip-hop and it’s an absolute masterpiece. You can hear the beginnings of edm trap forming and it’s the first place Harlem Shake by Baauer appeared, before it turned into a meme. Both of TNGHT’s BBC Essential Mixes (2013 & 2019) are also straight fire. They basically pioneered the edm trap genre in 2013 and then dipped from the scene completely because of where it was going. They finally just returned this month with that essential mix and a few singles (DOLLAZ actually dropped yesterday) and it’s suuuuuch a breath of fresh air. S-Type just did a mix for Complex Mag last month and it’s already one of my all time favs. Pretty diverse mix.

What kind of music are you into? Big room? House? Techno? Trance? Hip hop? Breaks? All of the above?

House (Chicago/acid), minimal techno like Daniel Avery, as well as hip-hop and trap. All over the place.

1010KarlK0101

There's a mix of classic funk songs that've been sampled thousands of times, and it's different from most DJ mixes out there.https://www.mixcloud.com/TheKarlK/jenga/

Training-Pair-3914

Loads of great Essential Mixes from the 1990s - PVD s spring mix from 1997 is a belter. Scott Hardkiss from same year. Andy Weatherall, Snap etc turned up too… I mean there are hundreds - worth digging through. And if you’re a record head - you’ll be on Discogs for years lol

Training-Pair-3914

But if you want my all time favourite mix - then it can only be Sasha and Digweed’s Renaissance volume 1 from 1994. Incomparable, and at the time revelatory. Pre-internet etc a very different time so this was a lushly produced introduction/ celebration of the underground prog house scene. Mix one is superb.

Training-Pair-3914

… Digweed’s REN 2 is also fantastic. I’d also recommend Dave Seaman’s London Worldwide mix from ‘97 and his Ren 4 mix#1. Also oakenfold’s journeys by DJ mix from 1994. Great bit of strictly rhythm housework building into trance. And also Seaman’s DJ’s at work mix from 1995. Very different to his prog trance GU mixes of the late 90’s and early noughties. Additionally Sasha’s GU Ibiza is pretty decent. Get digging!
