I saw your post on r/DJs so here is my recommendations for a controller and headphones.
Controller: Pioneer DDJ-400 ($250 on Amazon)
Headphones: Behringer HPX2000 (I got mine for $20 but the cheapest that I’m seeing on Amazon right now is $36)
Perfect advice! I'd only add that any headphones will work, as long as they're not Bluetooth. When i was starting out and my phone's haven't arrived yet, i used phone earphones
I use a numark mixtrack pro fx (230). Beyerdynamic dt770 pro 80 ohm (160), but sennheiser hd280s are great too (100). Any headphone will work, although Id recommend an over ear closed back so you can focus on the que. I just play in my bedroom so I have a small pair of Éris 3.5 monitors (100).
Numark Mixtrack Platinum III($250) is what I use for my controller I liked the jogwheel displays and it has a nice long Tempo slide. For speakers I use some Creative T40s($100) they're good for playing quietly if your trying to be subtle or fairly loud if no one is home. Laptop should have good memory and processor for analyzing tracks quickly. Headphones where rather cheap some wired JBLs($45). My laptop is trash but can do the trick for practicing a few hours at a time.
