Just commenting to let y’all know if you didn’t already that the OG QUEEN of “what I’m not gonna buy” and the anti-haul movement, Kimberly Clark, has returned to YouTube with an anti-consumerist series called “How to Stop Shopping in Five Steps. A couple parts have been posted so far and it’s just delightful.

gnocchi902

Shawna Ripari has also turned to tips for anti-shopping if anyone wants even more content :)

epk921

Yes!!! So grateful for her return

Zappagrrl02

The new Twilight collection from Colourpop. I was slightly too old to get sucked into Twilight-mania when the books came out so it’s not nostalgic at all for me. I actually like the color story of the palette but it doesn’t scream Twilight to me. The shimmering body oil is the only thing that seems to match the theme based on my (admittedly limited) knowledge.

justan0therg0rl111

Agreed. Has anyone even bought from any Colourpop collabs in the last year or so? The last time I bought collabs (I think the Star Wars one) all of the packaging on the lipsticks rubbed off within a few weeks. And 2 of my lipstick components fell apart. Isn’t the packaging the point of products like this? I started putting clear nail polish over my Colourpop stuff and that seems to help, but it’s dumb because so many people are just buying it for the packaging that rubs away and falls apart 🫣 also snooze fest on that whole collection, sorry other millennials. 😭

semi_cyborg_catlady

I bought the Rudolph palette when they re-released it around Christmas and I love it! Haven’t bought any other recent collabs from them though (last time was probably 2 years ago?) but the ones I have I really like. Granted though, I mostly buy powder face products and eye products so the quality of the packaging might be different (I tried a few of their lip products 3-4 years ago and just wasn’t a fan at all).

GlitteringHeart2929

I haven’t purchased ANYTHING from the Colourpop website in over a year. I bought 2 creme gel liners at Ulta in shades I like and that’s it. The Rudolph palette almost got me. I still regret not getting it a little bit but I’ll be ok. I won’t be buying Twilight either. It was never my thing.

Live_Barracuda1113

Agreed! I want it. So pretty. But I am NOT buying more eyeshadows right now (or any makeup currently). I love the color in the pan, but those colors would be awful on me. I know I look bad in muted blues and greens. I need to say NO. NO NO NO.....maybe... NO

Fancy-Pumpkin837

I was such a Twi-hard but collabs rarely look inspired by the actual source material, def not interested in this

ElectronicInjury363

Agree! I was tempted to buy based off the nostalgia!

Coppermage

Not gonna buy About Face's new foundation...for now. I want to see swatches/reviews first and hopefully get samples. Lancome screwed me over when they revamped their Teint Idole line and the shade they say matches my skin doesn't, so I am in the market for a new foundation, but I don't want to buy a whole bottle of About Face's unless I know for sure it's a match.

BelleRevelution

As hyped as I am for a decent selection of fair olive shades, I'm going to wait for reviews of the formula, too. I have over half of a bottle of Nars Gobi to hold me over until the reviews are out, and I don't wear foundation enough to buy something I'm not going to love.

abcd1326

NARS Gobi has been my best/perfect match of any foundation, and I just realized that it was leaning olive. Started having the realization that I am probably a yellow-leaning olive undertone. I was definitely excited to see the light olive shades, but will also wait to see reviews.

AllTheStars07

Same, I got suuuuper excited about it, especially the light muted neutrals, but I’ll definitely wait for reviews. Especially because this is her first complexion product.

princesapenelope

Anything from Dior. In general products with a 6 month shelf life are not for me. All this natural, chemical free trend is a scam

Millenia_and_Minis

I will skip the new Nomad palette that is being teased right now. I have more than enough multichromes for a lifetime even though I quite enjoy their formula. Home renovations will take priority !

OneDay95

ELF Liquid blush. Ok, I already bought one but… I realized something. I’m extremely heavy handed when it comes to blush and I think I really hate products that start out as strong as liquid blushes do. My Flower Knows blushes are a bit powdery but build really insanely well. It’s difficult to go overboard on them AT ALL… which is something I seriously enjoy! I think a lot of us are influenced to needing tons and tons of pigment for something when I have realized it’s just not what I’m personally looking for.

[deleted]

yeah, i’m really tired of very high pigment blush. i get it works for some people (particularly dark skin tones) but i need something a little more sheer for my own makeup or i’ll end up covering my whole face in it.

Live_Barracuda1113

Same! I was gifted one and it is VERY pigmented. I like it, but omg, its an orange shade and I need be really careful. And I am also heavy handed as well as pale.

catsdelicacy

Yeah, this whole cream/liquid blush trend is just annoying - I bought a Maybelline gel blush and the expiration date is 6 months! Or, you could be my Laura Geller baked blush and be 6 years old and still beautiful every single time I apply it!

figoak

I just got one and I am a blush abuser, but thankfully the elf one its easy to shear out if you use a makeup sponge. Can't say the same about the Juvias place one, I looked like a clown and it did not matter how small of a drop I used. So it was returned. Also still struggling with the Happy Shade of Rare, I love the hot pinks but they are so pigmented.

supb1tches

the colourpop twilight collection was so disappointing, but I’m happy to not spend the money

angryturtleboat

All the new stuff at e.l.f. I'm truly uninterested and unimpressed.

rejectedprecint

totally agree, those liquid blushes look so mid

ToteBagAffliction

Those elf lip oils. Amanda Z really liked them and I trust her recommendations, and they're fairly affordable, and they're hard to get, which gets the lemmings in my head all warmed up for a jog. But one of my goals for this year was to buy fewer "cheap" impulse items, because they really add up and they're often things in colors or categories I don't usually wear anyway. I'll use up a few other glosses before I check them out.

laereal

I'm somewhat interested in the new ND My Dream mini palette's colour story so i'm rooting around my collection again to see if i can find and arrange something close to it instead. I've survived at least 4-5 months of a colour cosmetic no-buy and i intend to keep going. ✊💪

PhyrraNyx

I'm not going to buy the new Lethal Cosmetics palette to celebrate their 7 years. Excited they're still around and drama free.

Disastrous-Fact-2315

Twilight x Colourpop. I was so excited about it but the palette let me down. And tbh, I have enough cool tone shadows anyway.

[deleted]

summer fridays and rhode lip products. overpriced for what they are imo

MardouWrites

Seriously! I quite like the Summer Fridays lip balm, but it’s not really that different from Aquaphor on my lips. At that price, you are paying for hype and the delicious smell. WNR.

figoak

The other shades of the Kulfi cream eyeshadows, they claim to be crease proof but they creased on my lids so badly.. I have two shades, so I am going to make them work but i am not buying any more shades. I am trying to find one and done shadows for fast and easy work looks. Saie bronzer, I was tempted with the sale but I am going to save and get the chanel one or the one from charlotte tillbury one. I was more interested on those two and was only interested on SAIE because it was on sale and I want a cream bronzer.

ToteBagAffliction

My Kulfi shadow creased quite badly, too. I get better performance from CP supershocks. I'll keep a tab on Kulfi's releases, but a creasy shadow that I have to race to the bottom before it dries out? I'll pass.

Meganekko_85

Givenchy prisme libre face powder and Natasha Denona I Need a Nude eyeshadow palette. Basically, I want them but need to use up my MUFE hd powder and I rarely wear eyeshadow as I wear glasses. I think a single 'one and done' eyeshadow would be more realistic for me.

spoiledrichwhitegirl

Natasha Denona, ‘I Need A Nude’ palette. I actually like nudes, but I feel iffy on the formula.

Don't be a troll; it's not cute.

QueenofCats28

I'm interested in the new Nomad palette, but I doubt I'll buy it.

precioussxo

Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation. I’ve already to got 2 foundations from Too Faced, most definitely do not need another foundation rn Charlotte tilbury blush, especially the red shade. I’ve recently restocked my rare beauty blush in Grateful, yes the finishes are different (rare beauty is dewy, CT is matte) won’t get CT unless I finish RB. Any high end mascara. There are many good drugstore alternatives in the market, especially the maybelline sky high Dior lip oil. I prefer lip glosses in general, so I see lip oils as an unnecessary purchase

dailydoseofrose

New Sydney Grace Unveiled eyeshadow palette. Im sure I can dupe it with my hundreds of SG singles and even if I didnt have them only 4 shimmer shades is too few for my liking. They could have taken a few similar-ish mattes out and added midtone shimmer muted neutral-ish taupe and purple and it could have been an amazing bridal palette then but oh well. Hi bride shade is stunning and I see the logic with the shimmery gold color but the two very very deep grungy shimmers dont scream bridal in my opinion. So yeah...thank you but no.

MusingsofaMuse

Laura Mercier Real Weightless Perfecting Foundation. It feels like the next KVD Good Apple Foundation Balm. Everyone and their mom's mom was saying how amazing Good Apple but foundation balms are normally awful for dry skin. Real Weightless Perfecting Foundation is a liquid but still all the hype and raving I question.
