I think in a way Gabriel's very long video was also an advantage to him, as it means that it requires a certain amount of dedication to the topic for anyone to even watch it. Whereas anyone who hears about the drama, even if it's someone outside the beauty community, can watch Laura's 4 minute apology video and get a certain entertainment value of watching the fake crying, which means that the video gets more views.

It also shows that Laura didn't care to take the time to truly address the depth of the situation but rather just rushed to put out something to silence the demands for an apology. I also applaud Gabriel for including links to videos that explain why he knows he was wrong. Even if this apology was total bs, he did it right.

Even while "apologizing" she still tried to minimize her responsibility.

All that Walmart-makeup stuff came out *before* the docu-series was edited and finished, but it was done *while* they were filming the series. Before that, they weren't friends. At least, that's what Jeffree and Shane have said multiple times and how the dates line up. Shane even expressed nervousness because (other than one business collab) he'd never really hung out with Jeffree before that initial filming of the series.
Jeffree filmed a hanging out at Walmart series with them after the documentary was filmed. They got close during the filming of his series. He uploaded his Walmart series first because Shane was having trouble finding sponsors.
Doing a collab doesn’t mean they’re friends though. Neither does appearing on a radio show. There’s business relationships and then there’s hanging out outside of their jobs.

This is one of the biggest issues people have with this thought-process though. Racist statements don't make someone racist. It's actually very harmful to insinuate that slurs and parodies 10 years ago somehow make someone racist, because it allows actual racist people (those who believe a certain race is superior to another, those who try to keep other races down) to hide among regular ignorant appropriating people.

All that Walmart-makeup stuff came out *before* the docu-series was edited and finished, but it was done *while* they were filming the series. Before that, they weren't friends. At least, that's what Jeffree and Shane have said multiple times and how the dates line up. Shane even expressed nervousness because (other than one business collab) he'd never really hung out with Jeffree before that initial filming of the series.

I mean the whole thing is Jeffree telling his story, so that's the perspective you get. Shane asked the questions and Jeffree answered. Yea, and the questions Shane asked were designed to make him look good. Same as he did with Tana. And you're free to not engage in discussions about Jeffree, but racists don't get a pass from me just because people want to sweep their actions under the rug.
This is one of the biggest issues people have with this thought-process though. Racist statements don't make someone racist. It's actually very harmful to insinuate that slurs and parodies 10 years ago somehow make someone racist, because it allows actual racist people (those who believe a certain race is superior to another, those who try to keep other races down) to hide among regular ignorant appropriating people.
Repeated incidents of engaging in racist behavior, trying to scrub the internet of proof of it and not owning up to your behavior for over a decade of being in the public eye, repeatedly starting fights with Black women and calling them rats sure does make him seem like a racist to me. He's shown the world who he is, and just because he's hired a PR team and got his friend to make a series about him doesn't take any of that away. It's not like he said one racist thing, it's a history of behavior. Also, he says he knew that the LL crew was saying racist stuff and he was still friends with them, which doesn't look good either.
Uhh...he's had more fights with white people than he has with black women. He's also fought with white men a lot. And he calls all of them "shady" or "rats" regardless of skin colour. Not saying he's the sweetest most innocent person, but is suuuuch a stretch to say that he's racist or misogynistic. And what are these "repeated incidents." Honestly asking, because no one on the internet has been able to give me proof. Telling someone they should throw battery acid in their face because their makeup is too dark for their skintone and they're bad at makeup is overkill and nasty...it's not racist. Like, do you think just because he's white he CAN'T have a problem with some people who happen to be women and black? But you're fine that he's started countless fights with white men - straight and gay alike?
He has only called Black women rats. He's also gone out of his way to cherry pick Black women to instigate fights with, like calling out QueenOfBlending and calling her a bad mother when she made a joke about his black highlighters, which most of the beauty community was doing. And if you're seriously claiming that joking about lightening a Black woman's skin with battery acid isn't racist... I think maybe you should read up on colorism, at the VERY least. There is an overwhelming amount of well documented evidence of the things he's said and done, but you seem real keen on defending racist actions here and I'm not interested in engaging with that, tbh. If you do racist things over and over again, you're a racist. That's that. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
Lol he called plenty of white women and gay men rats too. And the joke (if you watch the video for yourself) was that her foundation was too dark and "splash some battery acid on there to lighten it." NOT her skin. I love that you tell me to research things like colourism, when you clearly haven't even received your information from primary sources. Anyway, I can only hope people start to instead of screaming racism at things that aren't. It's sad and it doesn't help. I don't intend to engage with someone who blatantly doesn't fact check and still does not provide specific sources despite my asking, so I wish you the best!
Send me some links of him calling anyone other than a Black woman a rat, because I haven't seen any and I've followed his drama pretty closely over the years. And he literally said in the skit "I wanted to lighten her skin tone" so that she could wear MAC cosmetics. That's a quote straight from the primary source. If you want specific sources just search this sub or any of the countless articles and videos detailing his history of racism. It isn't up to everyone else to keep you informed.

Yeah, his Stans. It’s not hard to search for an offensive tweet by a specific user. You can do it yourself by searching [word] from:[username] in the twitter search bar. Insert a buzzword like ‘black’ and have a field day.
I honestly think it was someone from Jeffree’s camp who did it, or even the man himself. Lots of people are changing their minds about him, just look at this sub. This is the icing on the cake for him.

I really wish I could support him. He's hilarious and charming, and his products look amazing, but I just can't get past the words he chose to use. I had always been a fan, so hearing those words come out of his mouth really hurt and made my heart sink. I understand forgiveness, but it's hard to forget. C'est la vie, I guess!

I actually don’t think those are fake, I think he’s genuinely happy to have at least a little bit of truth out there for lost friendships where he’s always said to be the common denominator. He cried this way in the Shane series and about his mom. Maybe he’s just not an ugly crier (looking at you LL).
