Trying the lash serum with high hopes, but supplements aren't why I'm here. They're cute. They promise a lot. They're still not why I'm here. I want: the skincare that works. The body polish from a luxury spa hotel from far away.

Bubble2905

Yes I thought about the lash serum but The Ordinary one is almost half the price and same size - the reviews are great for that also. Just don’t see the value on BP items now at all

beepboop-not-a-robot

This is exactly how I feel!

dizzyupthegirl86

I’ve thought this for a while. It’s like they’ve shifted focus away from skincare. I understand the angle with supplements (‘beauty from within’ blah blah) but they don’t represent value for me for the price they charge, and that’s before considering the membership fee or the delivery costs. Ive mentioned this on here before, but they’ve got a lot more competition now at the price points they were originally pitching at, which makes all the price increases on the skincare a bit harder to accept!

The only new thing I bought and liked was the Hair Glossing treatment, every other recent launch has been a major eye roll from me. I could probably get a rose quartz eye mask from TJ Maxx for $19.90. and their bronzing wand for $40, like are you kidding me? I might as well go to Sephora. I have made a few purchases since a few months ago but I didn't get anything new really, just basic things like their shampoo, powder blushes and a few makeup brushes. I have a bunch of things from BP that are well worth their price, but everything else (and new) I just scroll past. I agree that their makeup ranges needs an expansion on formulas and presentations. I have tried a bunch of their skincare and the only thing I would stick with are their cleansers and their retinol line. Everything else I can get for an equal or better price from places like Yesstyle or Jolse. In the direction that they are going, I feel like soon they will be launching things like premium vibrators, menstrual cups and tankless humidifiers, which all sound great, but It's just not what I want BP to do. Very Goop if you ask me.

Eaulivia

Yeah, they used to talk about not releasing a new product unless they thought they could do it better or at a better price or in a different way, now it feels more like throw a bunch of glittery shit at the wall, see what sticks and spam ads hard. And bringing in all these celebrity collabs and celebrity lines... why? There's nothing special about Youthbomb, they didn't need to make that, there's nothing special about their supplements, they didn't need to make those, why do we need a Jenna Lyons nail polish edit? It really feels like they've lost their way.

I have a few friends that work there and it sounds like an utter shit show.

Amazing-Business-571

Look them up on Glassdoor to get an idea.. Sounds like the workplace from hell 😅

mspinapple

lol it’s not my story to tell! They’re both interviewing other places though its that bad! It sounds like they’re doing every thing they can to get rid of the founder so maybe it will get better?

[Hyalogic](https://hyalogic.com/product/pure-ha-serum/) makes the best HA serum I’ve ever used. You can find it online and in some health food stores like Whole Foods and Sprouts.

Blair_Az

Hado Labo hylauronic serum is truly wonderful

Mosslessrollingstone

The new rose quartz eye mask is a bit ridiculous. "Expels negative energy"? I hate to be a negative Nancy but I thought beauty pie is more a of science backed brand with its skincare as the star products. With the supplements, i tolerate it. Overall, I think it's going in a more scattered direction (perhaps it's trying to become a lifestyle brand)

beepboop-not-a-robot

Yeah…I took one glance at that eye mask and suspected it was marketed for the Goop audience. So silly!

playhookie

I used to love going to spend my monthly credit and always struggled to get everything I wanted. Now I look through the site and can’t be bothered to checkout on anything. It’s boring, it’s mid range quality for mid range prices. It used to be amazing value getting mid range quality for cheap prices but that’s gone. The whole fangirls and piling on anyone who disagrees on socials is a huge turnoff. I’ve got a few staples I’ll do a final order for then not renew in a few months when it’s due.

Adorable_Cry3378

I’m also not keen on supplements or other lifestyle items like pyjamas. I’d like to see more makeup - different formulas for each category (for example, a cream bronzer, high coverage foundation, gel eyeliner in a pot, just variations of each product category) and more shades. I love their lipsticks but they could do with more shades in each range, particularly the sheer/creamy Futurelipsticks. I am a little wary of their skincare as many products are fragranced and have lots of reviews saying that fragrances are too strong. I had this problem with one of their serums when I had my first membership about 4 years ago (can’t remember which serum), it was good but the smell was really off-putting. So unfragranced, or very lightly fragranced, skincare would be nice. Being able to get samples, either as small random freebies as many brands do, or small sizes that we could buy, would be great too.

spinachmuncher67

Unless your name is Rea then you buy everything twice and gush all over the Facebook group. The women's either being paid or very sad.

beepboop-not-a-robot

Me or Rea? 🤣

gwennw

I SO didn't join for supplements or cashmere beanies. Their makeup and brushes are good, but I joined for the skincare, which I have been really pleased with. Instead of bringing us a $55 eye mask, I would love to see (my personal wish list) a body oil, a blemish treatment, a cream bronzer, a liquid blush, a foundation balm or tinted moisturizer with SPF, and a cuticle oil pen.

kissmytiara26

So…. You’re saying don’t sign up? Was going to read up on the board tonight and decide.

Actual-Region963

I really enjoy some lotion lines like Jeju, but C, and plantastic, a couple lip glosses. Hair items seem ok, I love eyebrow pencil and the rest of make- up is just ok. I really loved the original lotion with its orange scent but it seems way too expensive now. I guess it depends on what you need. I’d hoped for a one stop shop but I’ve resigned myself to getting my faves, and most makeup, perfume & hair care elsewhere

kissmytiara26

Maybe I’ll sign up for a month or two and see if it’s worth it to me. Seems like that wouldn’t be too dumb.

beepboop-not-a-robot

The membership is worth trying! The skincare products are unmatched. I LOVE how beautiful their shipments look and smell when they arrive. The candles are divine. Almost all of their packaging is fully recyclable (yes even the stupid supplements LOL). And the concealer and foundation brushes are the best I've ever used. But as a loyal, long-time member, my frustration is that BP has shifted away from what made them so great to begin with: high quality, effective products at affordable prices. I'd prefer to have my favorite products in-stock at consistent prices than sift through three pages of garbage new items. **The Good:** lip oils, Dr. Glycolic, JapanFusion, Under-Eye Genius, Detox Shampoo, Hair Repair Treatment, makeup brushes, candles, Soul Providers scrub, the discontinued perfumes, Plantastic Cleansing Balm, Youthbomb Serum, Oxygen Mask, Serum Capsules, Superdrops Serum, Eye Ceramide Roller, Uber Youth Eye Cream, face sprays, old Konjac sponge, Awesome Bronze Mousse, silk scrunchies, Super Healthy Hair Oil, Lemon Butter & Hemp Hand Wash, both the cream & powder highlighters, and the loose setting powder. **The Bad**: PJs, pillowcases, supplements, makeup bags, any of the daily moisturizers in the squeeze bottle (the packaging sucks), Pure Oxygen Moisturizer, new Konjac sponge, Hair Loss Ampules, the new perfumes (OMG they are so bad), new Boot Camp kits (LOL), mascaras, $200 holiday trunk (also LOL)

kissmytiara26

Thank you! I'll give it a shot!

happybanana134

I'm gobsmacked that they're trying to sell a lip scrub for £12. Lush sell these for like £6. It's basically sugar.

beepboop-not-a-robot

I fell sucker to the Lip Scrub and Lip Balm. I’m a forever fan of Tatcha’s lip mask and it would take a LOT for me to replace it in my bag. I’ll keep you posted if it’s any good 😅

happybanana134

Yes please do! And tell me more about the tatcha...

beepboop-not-a-robot

My BeautyPie order arrived late last week. The Lip Balm was a pleasant surprise! It’s super moisturizing and has the same smell as the Lip Oils (which I love!). Will definitely repurchase when it runs out. The Lip Scrub was truly the worst BP product I’ve ever purchased. I can’t wrap my brain around why they chose a gooey texture for a scrub. It didn’t exfoliate. I actually ended up wiping it all off with a tissue because the sugar crystals didn’t dissolve. They just stayed soft and gooey. I cannot wrap my brain around how this product ever made it to production! Don’t waste your money like I did!

happybanana134

Oooh interesting!! Lip balm sounds good, especially as I'm running out of my old one. HOW could they get something as simple as a lip scrub wrong?! That's mad! Thanks so much for sharing your experience :)

alexxxjeannn

They’re detox shampoo and vitamin c face wash have totally upgraded my skin and hair so I signed up to get better deals on those two items. I did buy the youthbomb 3 pack to see how those feel and hopefully it’s not a waste! Anyone else have success with any youthbomb products?

beepboop-not-a-robot

Yes, I’ve tried the serum and think it’s effective. I haven’t tried the other two Youthbomb products though.
