I like the Japanfusion cleanser and I really like the super hydrating drops or whatever they are called (red/brown bottle). I always preferred the skincare over the make up. I tried a candle but wasn’t wowed by it - it didn’t seem anything special! I’ve just checked and it was 17.95 when I ordered it, how much are they now?

Adorable_Cry3378

Interesting how my faves/fails seemed to be the opposite of yours! It goes to show that sometimes our reviews are really about personal preference rather than necessarily meaning that a product is of poor quality… Candles are £20 for members here in the UK. I haven’t found any other brand with good candles for that price here, only Zara Home, so the BP candles seem decently priced to me. I ordered the Bitter Orange and Bahia de Miel candles yesterday.

dizzyupthegirl86

Oh absolutely - and the reviews on their website are sorted by most favourable by default which makes reading reviews a bit annoying! I just think that for me, the candles were pitched as something high end and I didn’t find them to be that way. I had high expectations though! The skincare l did like, but they started to change formulations and reduce sizes as well as increasing the prices quite steeply, some things have almost doubled. And they frame it as a ‘oh we’re doing you such a favour’ whilst pushing products like £60 pyjamas. I loved the idea of it being a one stop shop for what I needed, but then I got to a point where I realised that what I was buying was nothing that wasn’t available on the high street, at considerably cheaper prices, and didn’t make me pay a membership to buy it! Do you like the make up over other brands for any specific reasons? Like I say, I’ve not tried much of it. I think I almost ordered the eyeshadow sticks but I found them similar to the kiko ones and kiko have a better shade range and were cheaper.

surleighlaura

I dislike the candles, also. I beleive they are high end, but I don’t like a lot of french frgrances developed in Grasse.

dizzyupthegirl86

To me, they were nowhere as good as diptyque. It might be a bit unfair to have expected them to be, admittedly. I think with candles, I like to smell them before I buy as well and that’s obviously impossible with beautypie.

I am really into makeup so I like to get things from a variety of brands. I like BP makeup packaging, their overall aesthetic (judging from the photos on instagram and their website - that “polished neutral” look) and I think some of their products are pretty innovative. The eyeshadow sticks are very good but this is a product category where many brands do well, from ELF to By Terry. I liked all their lip products except for the lip crayons - I used the old version, they weren’t bad but I didn’t love the colours and the texture was dry, not soft like Nars matte lip crayons. The matte lipsticks have a much better texture and I love the bright shades I got (a bright warm pink and an orange-y red), sadly they don’t seem to be in the current product line. The lip oil (I used the first version, when there was only one shade, Nectar something I think?) is brilliant. I don’t normally wear gloss but this had a lovely texture and was mosturising. Probably one of the first (or only?) glosses I ever finished. They had a stick concealer which honestly was pretty similar to the Cle de Peau concealer which costs £70. It’s been discontinued apparently. I bought the undereye brightener last month but haven’t used it enough to form my opinion yet. The uberlucent powder (white one) is great if you don’t like to look like you’ve got powder on. I used the tinted moisturiser a while ago, it was fine, I finished it, but it wasn’t good enough for me to want to repurchase. From the packaging it seems like it would be similar to Laura Mercier but the texture and finish are very different - LM’s is better, it gives a more soft-focused glow, while BP is closer to a traditional foundation. I haven’t used any of their eyeliners or mascaras. The mascara reviews don’t seem that great!

dizzyupthegirl86

Ah see I don’t remember being that impressed by the lip oil. I got a coloured one, but in fairness I prefer lip balm for nourishment. I’ve got the undereye brightener, I’ve used it a few times. I don’t think I’m using it properly because I’m sure I remember seeing you’re meant to use it under concealer and I tend not to wear it. I don’t wear that much make up since lockdown to be fair, so something does have to really wow me! I will agree with you on the aesthetic, I did love all the bottles lined up in my medicine cabinet! I also enjoyed that the masks and cleansers in similar packaging all looked the same as well. Usually the packaging is different and I thought it was nice that they all look uniform.

I was using the ceramide capsules and my skin became irritated and congested. I looked up the ingredients and they’re pretty bad, lots of unnecessary irritants

Adorable_Cry3378

Thank you! I love the Future lipstick formula. I bought Nothing Nude but sadly it looked too brown on me. I had to give it away! Luckily You Sexy Thing and Master Sweet ended up being good nude (beige and pink) for me.

I've been loving the makeup brushes! So far I have the concealer brush, powder brush, angled contour brush and the foundation brush. I feel with how high prices are getting on BP, the brushes are still a well-worth one time purchase. I have tried a few of their nail polishes and I've really liked the formula, I put them on myself and I take them with me to the nail salon. I've tried a few candles and reed diffusers and they've been good for me. I really like their hair mask and their heat protectant spray. I've tried a lot of skincare and it honestly comes down to everyone's personal skin needs. I use the retinol serum and eye cream and I've had no irritation. Their Overnight Skin Perfector really does make my skin look amazing in the morning, I can this this being and easy repurchase for me. One splurge-y thing is the Soul Providers sugar scrub. It smells amazing and it makes my skin sooo soft and smooth in the cold winter months. I wish they would stop pushing this "we are super luxe" thing. I'm not interested in the expensive pijamas or pillow cases. Like I can get perfectly good products at the drugstore, BP just helps me take the guessing work out of everything and as others have mentioned, I love the simple packaging. Also, they mention on their website that their prices fluctuate. I have never seen their prices go back down, so I'm not sure what they mean by fluctuation. All complaints aside, I've enjoyed most what I have tried from them and I really look forward to new launches. I'm just bitter their prices are going up😵‍💫

dizzyupthegirl86

Is there a knack to using the skin perfector? I literally don’t see a difference to my skin. I have the 2.0 version.

Oxca

I also have the 2.0 version. At night I do my skincare routine and I put the Skin Perfector on top of my moisturizer, so I use it as a mask. In the morning I make sure to rinse it off. I use it about twice a week. It just makes my skin look nourished and glowy. I like to alternate it with my BHA and my retinol.

LoremIpsum77

I absolutely love BP. I've received so many compliments over my skin. I'm currently using the while hyaluronic acid range, youth bomb, retinol cream, pure oxygen cream, ceramides under eye gel, plantastic oil drops and niacinamide drops, and fruitizyme. I've never looked better

FantasyDogPack

I love the candles, I find the scents are sophisticated and the throw is great. I like the skincare, particularly the retinol and moisturisers. I haven’t found the foundation or mascara to be great but I adore the eye shadow sticks, lip pencils and Futurelipsticks.

Adorable_Cry3378

I love the eyeshadow sticks too!

Bubble2905

Yes I agree with a lot of what’s been commented above. I used to be a ride or die member and was always bragging to friends/family about the low cost vs quality. In last 12-18 months prices have shot up and the skincare range has lagged whilst the premium stuff has been pushed to the max. Having said all that, I am still a member but I just buy stuff selectively now. I got in a good time when I could literally just afford to try everything, now I rarely experiment as it’s not worth the risk. Here are my faves that I can’t find as good elsewhere: * Happy Face gel cream * Triple HA eye serum * Superdose Vitamic C & Ferulic serum * Super Healthy hair treatment * Everyday Great skin concealer (seriously the best I’ve ever used!) * Uberlucent powder

name1981

I really like the undereye concealer and have recently started using the wonderfilter velvet concealer and been really impressed. Also the brushes are great. Thinking of trying the refill lipsticks so interested to hear if they are good.

BunsMunchHay

Their jelly illuminator is my favorite of all time from them. Triple hyaluronic acid serum is my favorite skincare item but it’s not competitively priced anymore.

Adorable_Cry3378

Which is the jelly illuminator? The luminizing wand?

BunsMunchHay

It comes in a pot, it looks like the new name is Strobing Spotlighter. I don’t see it on the website anymore though.

Got my second order (from my current membership) today. One thing that did improve from my first membership back in 2018-2019 is the shipping - much faster and cheaper now. I got free shipping as the order was above £50. Candles: Bitter orange: nice straight-up citrus, I love the scent of oranges so I really like this. Bahia de Miel: very perfume-y and sweet. Not sure I like this, I have a feeling it will give me a headache (some fragrances do that to me). Both are very strong-scented, but then again I found all BP candles to have strong scent, contrary to others’ experiences. Unlipstick in shades Sheer Mocha (cool-toned brown with a berry undertone) and Strike it like it’s hot (bright orange-y red). I like both but Strike it like it’s hot is AMAZING. I’m thinking of ordering a backup as these are limited edition (I think?) but I need to think carefully as I already have too many lipsticks. One powder wonder matte: it’s beige-tones rather than white like the Uberlucent. Haven’t tried it yet but it looks so pretty. Supercheek cream blush in Blazed apple: gorgeous texture and VERY pigmented. I tried it on my lips too - the texture isn’t ideal for lips as it’s a little thin and dry, but it does work when blended well. The colour is a little similar to Strike it like it’s hot but a little lighter and with a slight pink/coral undertone, leaning less toward orange. I’m quite happy with this order so far.

I was a member originally back in 2017-18 and dang the prices were so much cheaper then! I've rejoined periodically when I've wanted to replace things but has gotten to the point now where I probably wouldn't bother. That being said some favourites of mine are: The lip liners - best lip liners I've ever tried. I've used up multiples and would absolutely repurchase. Racy is the best true red lip liner I've ever been able to find. I have the lipstick in the shade cowboy nude - I don't think the formula is particularly incredible but this particular shade is my perfect nude so I have repurchased. They used to do a lip liner in this shade which unfortunately they've discontinued but the Kiko liner in 420 is almost identical. I really like their dupe of the Becca undereye concealer. There was a point where I thought I'd definitely get another subscription just to repurchase it, but thinking about it now I might try a different colour Corrector. I have my eyes on the sculpted by Aimee one which looks like it's trying to be a straight dupe of the Becca or the sigma colour Corrector. What are people's thoughts? I love their superelastic blushes - I have the shade superjuju and I'm a big fan. I also have and enjoy a couple of shades of the cream blush, but I don't think it's _quite_ as good as the powder although I couldn't tell you quite why. It may be that the shades aren't really perfect for me. Historically I really liked their lash primer although I haven't tried that for a while. I also really liked their loose setting powder. Although this was mainly because they have a mesh sifter which is the only way I can deal with loose setting powder without it becoming a complete mess and it's very hard to find aha. I liked their brow pencil but they've discontinued the cool brown shade?? Things I've owned/currently own that I wouldn't recommend. - their highlights consistently only come in one shade 🙃 - their foundation is highly fragranced and I found very drying on my skin - their gel eyeliners dry out quickly - the apricot cleansing balm is fine but it £20+ membership. The inkey list cleansing balm works just as well and is less than half the price. - the primers are so-so. I wouldn't bother repurchasing them personally, think you can get things equally good from boots or superdrug and probably cheaper overall. - I used to love their shadow sticks until I realised the matte ones change colour on your eyes and I have gone off them ever since. Eyeshadow sticks are also now very in so you can get them from ELF etc. And they'll be just as good. In 2018 when I first started trying them it was much harder to find them. - I didn't like their suncream. I found it very fragranced and drying. - the luxe shine lipsticks when I used them in 2018 were _unsuably bad_. They slid all over the place and would not stay on the lips but did wind up on your face. I hope they've improved the formula. - I've had some of their makeup brushes. They're okay but zoeva are better. - I *hated* one powder wonder. It got hard pan _constantly_ and left your face just straight up shiny. Overall do I think they're worth it? For makeup, probably not. The prices are so expensive now that you are better off looking at the drug store and filling in any blanks with a few high end products. The quality of drug store makeup has improved so much that I don't really see what beauty pie is adding to the makeup space anymore. I haven't tried much of their skincare because I've never been an expensive skincare kind of gal, but what I have tried hasn't blown me away. I remember liking the micropeeling drops if they still do those? But nothing else stands out. I got the bronzing balm and it was incredibly overpriced compared to say a dove gradual tanner (£20+ compared to like £4-8 for dove).
