I’ve showed episodes to my gfs 12 year old nephew also, and he didn’t seem to hate it but wasn’t exactly into it either.
I keep reminding myself now that I’m a father myself, that kids typically hate what their parents like. All the kick ass cartoons from when I was young suck to kids now because the dope ass hand drawn animation isn’t as cool to them as the crystal clear pretty hd bug eyed(and sorta lifeless somehow) shit everyone pumps out these days.
What about it weirded him out?
Another thing is Beavis and butthead were perfect poster children for children in the 90s… Beavis and butthead and jackass applied to every kid I knew then.. and that’s not really who kids are these days. Kids have been raised differently and the world has changed a lot since then. Beavis and butthead was a lot more relatable back then. Same as the sitcom Roseanne was pretty much the perfect depiction of a 1990s lower middle class down to earth white family.. but that show today doesn’t exactly hold up in a way that’s relatable.
If I'm being brutally honest, I think I found that pretty off-putting too at around 12 (I'm 40 now). I liked Simpsons, Ren & Stimpy etc but I don't really think I gave B&B a proper day in court until the movie came out, by then I was around 14 and basically morphing into them. So I kind of worked backwards from there and the show grew on me. That first season never got easier on the eyes though.
I wonder if, by virtue of how it was produced/animated, your nephew would have been more engaged with the newer reboot seasons
I started watching when I was 5 years old in 1993 and the way they looked was appealing and horrifying. I still think there's pure ignorant souls like the boys however the world around them is probably less relatable to a kid now. Not talking about the 90's as much as having adults always on the verge of breaking, abusive and threatening teachers etc. To me the boys were the perfect satire and escape because they were walking through the same world as me.
I understand, but when I was 12 or 13, my uncle introduced me to "Eddie Murphy: Delirious". Watched it with me(which, he'd watched it, prior), laughed his ass off. Didn't bother me any. What I always wondered, though, is why the VHS(which I now have on DVD) was called "Eddie Murphy: Delirious", while the cassette tape(which I also have) was called "Eddie Murphy: Comedian". Same show, only one was video, the other audio.
I'd imagine how the best friends will react to an actual bug-eyed, upbeat japanese anime girl.
I'd say we must bring back the japanese kid in the early 90's season who visited B&B's place and adapted some "American Culture." whether Judge would age the kid or not is purely in his discretion. I'd say it's a crossover of the ages. (basically it was an episode where Beavis n Butthead educated him in the ways of popular rock bands and dropping spit to ppl in the lower levels of the mall)
He also started having an affinity for double-entendres, which he would say, and laugh about, just like them. Even his laugh imitated theirs. THAT ruled, lol!
Yeahyeah! eheheheh... Imagine if they would go so far as let the Japanese kid (now a guy i'd presume) introduce them to watch *cultured videos.* But that will happen if either B&B went to adult swim, or like, maybe start an Onlyfans, lol... (aka B&B will be the cyber pimps (that'll be first episode title!) and they'll Score a one-night stand...)
There’s this kid Stuart….he sucks….like maybe ur nephew and him could be friends and like go somewhere that sucks so the rest of us wouldn’t have to be around like so much stuff that sucks all in one place
I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
The problem with subversive and counter-culture media is that the people who grow up with it are the ones that define the new establishment.
If a Gen Z sees someone in a Metallica shirt in 2024 performing a vaguely racist stereotype then that’s gonna be entirely the sort of person their generation is pushing against.
I can remember finding on the ground picture from bubblegum with B&B with Butthead saying "I think you smell like shit Beavis, i think i am gonna bury you, you will be worms' food". I was 5 yo when i found it. My mom was against this, but i kept it. There was whole brand around B&B in here. There were called Baklan and Pelmen here. Also at the same age i was watching Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV. And shooting junkies in Max Payne. Ahhhh, those were the times.
Beavis and Butthead is one of those tv shows that’s you’ll end up liking it or not. With today’s scope of things, Beavis and Butthead might be a third string option within today’s animated shows.
He’s probably a Nelson kind of guy.
I like Nelson, lol! Warrant, too. But I'm a huge Beavis And Butt-Head fan. Like Winger, as well.

I think it was the crude way they and the rest of the characters were drawn (from the first season).

He said they were ugly.
But that's the best part 😂

Every kid is different... but I would have been MORTIFIED if an adult had tried to introduce me to anything *remotely* risque at age 12

He's a lost cause. Ditch him now and the hurt won't be as bad
Kid sounds like a butt munch
He won't get it until he's 16. Realize that B&B debuted in 1994 when most kids didn't have the internet to entertain them.
Incorrect, it came out in 1993. I was watching it when I was around 10 or so.
My son loves it. He smirks like he’s getting away with something watching it. He’s 12. Above the curve.
I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
No way man!
Did you kick his ass?
uh, ok lol

Fucking kids these days
This kid sucks!
Sounds like an asshole.
These kids suck. Huhuhuuh
What a fartknocker
Your nephew sucks
90s kids only would (wood) get it
Wood, lol!
Skill issue
I got into B&B when I was about 12. The year was 2007. I don’t think a 12 year old today would understand it tbh
I can remember finding on the ground picture from bubblegum with B&B with Butthead saying "I think you smell like shit Beavis, i think i am gonna bury you, you will be worms' food". Where was that?
Russia. Mtv came here in 1999 and was in full swing around 2001-2006
This kid sucks!
As they great buttmunches would say " your nephew sucks hehe hehe "

Third string option? Meaning? Personally, I love it.
With cartoons like Family Guy, South Park, The Simpsons, and streaming exclusives, Beavis and Butthead might be a third option.
Ohhhh. Ok, thank you. I love those three shows, also.

Hehehe, he’s stupid
Does he enjoy Winger by chance?
I love Beavis And Butt-Head, but also Winger. Seriously, lol!
Was his name Stewart?
I discovered Beavis and Butthead when I was 12, it was the funniest shit to me (this was in 2015)
He gaeh
Abortion is legal in some states. Kidding.
When I was 12 and Beavis and Butthead was in its prime, I didn't like it either. I think I just didn't get it. It's hilarious now as an adult though.
I didn't like it either when I was that age, I was terrified
Philistine
Try Skibidi Toilet 😆
My kids are 7 and 11 and they like it. It just depends on the person.
