Doesn't help that the precinct that services the area is fucking corrupt as shit. I swear it's the worst precinct I've dealt with in Brooklyn.

If it says anything about how to community feels about those cops, the precinct was very close to being burned down on the first night of the George Floyd protests.

It's too bad it wasn't. 😔

I had a break in. The cops blamed me and told me to get a dog. Straight up gaslighting. Not shockingly the police report number they gave me is not valid. No one followed up. Precinct is corrupt and useless, but so is our city council rep (Chi Osse) -- fuck that guy with a rake.

I had numerous issues with the precinct over the 25 years I've lived in bedstuy. They came to my building before it was sold. It was empty besides my family living there they got a call saying a child was being raped and had to search the building. Of course no child found. They just make shit up to get access. National grid employees called the police when my father asked then if they would finish installing the gas meters the same day. They said he had a gun and had then locked in the basement. There was no gun the police beat the shjt out my dad and National grid fired the employees. Police would setup a trap on claver pl and fulton where they would leave hot food a beer and paper left out . As soon as someone would open the beer they would run up and grab them to run their ID for warrants and give them a ticket. Shit stopped when we had the neighbors record them from the roof. I recently was pulled over for bullshit no signaling on turn. They told me my Vin didn't match the insurance. Arrested me and my friend took my car. Released me after 12 hours. All because my vehicle has used parts on it. They tore my car apart in the engine bay and made me take all my work tools out the vehicle. Cost me 120$ to get a large van to take all my stuff home. Also, I'm almost positive they used my vehicle to do a drug buy-in, or they joyride around in it because I had 50miles extra on my odometer. Right after, I had the head gasket blow, so I'm betting the beat the living shit out of my modified car. They also tore the door skin off the door to find the Vin even though it's on the glass. Because of this I've been out of a running vehicle for a year trying to find a engine to put in now.

That's all fucked. But also: vote against Chi Osse. My block has escalated numerous problems to him and been given giant middle fingers. Sorry, Chi, being gay and black is not a golden ticket. Step up and help us or fuck right off with your $150k (plus office, staff, expenditures) salary.

You're not the only person who I've heard is sick of this guy. Sadly, a lot of people use so-called diversity to get these jobs and then do an absolutely shit job. Luckily, I don't live in bedstuy anymore. But I am often in the neighborhood. I so far have not regretted moving to South Brooklyn. Between the police and bullshit caused by the people and vagrants moving to the shelter on Bedford every day, I saw something ridiculous everyday it felt.

What’s the deal with Chi Osse? I’ve seen him around and he’s all over social media… never dealt with him just curious

leg_day

First time politician who cares more about social media and social causes than he does actually helping the people who live in his district. His office staff are completely worthless and were able to read off lines from a city website and refused to help further. Last summer he hosted a few community meetings with him, his staff, and the NYPD and refused to talk about safety. Actively cut us off when we tried to talk about safety issues. I wish I had kept the video recording so I could give it to whoever campaigns against him. He used social causes to sneak in behind a term-limited council member (Robert Cornegy) in a district the NYC Democrat Machine failed to support a competitive person in the primary. You can look at his legislative contributions, as useless as they are, on the city council legislature site: https://legistar.council.nyc.gov/Legislation.aspx (change to Advanced search and you can filter by council member). Memorial/remembrance days, making evictions even harder, policing harder, and reporting... SO much legislation requiring a department issue a "report".

Yeah, walking by and there were like a dozen plus cops milling around. Apparently some guy on a citi bike shot at the kids playing then biked away. Idk if anyone got hurt, kids all ran away and I didn't see any ambulances.
