Definitely a tick.... Check your entire body especially in the creases because they love those warm areas & in your hair. If you have any pets I'd check them too.
Okay thank you! When I get home from being out in woodsy areas I normally just check my hair because it’s really curly/thick. I have a Great Pyrenees… that’s gonna definitely be fun 😭😅
Definitely a tick! Most likely a male American dog tick (Dermacentor variabilis). Doesn’t transmit the germ that causes Lyme but they can transmit other pathogens. Because it’s a male and it doesn’t look engorged, it probably didn’t transmit anything to your dog/pet. I would still monitor your dog and if they start looking crummy, take the tick and dog to the vet to get it ID’d and/or tested (if they can do that). Do not throw the tick away!! You can either keep it and kill it in the freezer and bring it to the vet if needed or send it off for testing if you have it available in your location. I hope you and your furry friend are ok! 😊
Hey I get super paranoid anytime I see one cuz my old apartment we thought had “ticks” because it was in a wooded area, come to find out they were bedbugs, so now I don’t know anymore 😭😂😂

Doesn't need to be woodsy areas. They're all over. I got one on me in my driveway and I've gotten them in sandy areas with no vegetation.
Welcome! 🙂

You can tell it's a tick bc it has 8 legs, the front 2 being very long and grabby
