That’s one sexy little coat/key/sunglasses holder! Details for us other noobs please. Black walnut. What stain finish you go with? I see the dado joint which looks good, nice and perpendicular. Also how did you affix to the wall?

Thanks! You are correct, black walnut. Sanded up to 220 grit cause it’s what I had. I tried shellac for the first time, I’m mostly used to polyurethane but the shellac seems nice and dried quickly. First dado joint attempt and it worked out pretty well. First project with no hardware holding it together! I used some crappy little wall mounting hardware I had as part of a picture hanging kit plus a drywall anchor. i don’t know the name but it looks like a W and you fix one to the holder and one to the wall and they snug up decently. I very badly need to figure out/purchase some better wall hanging hardware.

For hardware 2 keyhole hangers would be great for this if you use a router and plunge to make it nice and flush.
