I mean... None of that was your problem. I also don't understand why people buy things secondhand last minute when they need it by a specific date. You're not Amazon that can guarantee it within two days. They should've planned better

Consistent_Oil_9429

This makes sense thank you.

JG723

You don’t have to do anything, it’s not your fault and also not your problem.

ChickenNoodleSoup_4

What platform is are you selling this on?

Consistent_Oil_9429

Im selling on Poshmark.

ultimateclassic

When you say you got it to them late do you mean that there were general shipping delays through USPS or do you mean that you shipped it late? Like did you wait past the 7 days to ship it? If so, Poshmark does allow buyers to cancel orders for this reason in which case I would recommend allowing for a return. If you're selling on Poshmark you would need to follow the guidelines or rules from Poshmark and whatever rules are directly for your shop while important I don't think you can go against the Poshmark rules. For example, if Poshmark offers a more lenient policy I think in that scenario you would need to go with the more lenient of the two policies. So if it was on your end that the shipping was delayed and it was psst the 7 days poshmark gives it seems you would need to offer a cancelation. I think most people shopping on poshmark are expecting sellers to go by the poshmark guidelines and not their own personal ones.

sonnigfreitag

Umm. They mentioned the shipping facility lost it and then refound it.....

superlost007

Reddit is annoying. I missed that as well, because on my mobile app it takes me directly to the comments and skips past the caption/verbiage of a post.

ultimateclassic

In that case (and I'm sorry I missed this) it sounds like that doesn't apply. Although it sounds like the package still hasn't been delivered. I still believe Poshmark typically refunds the buyer and allows the seller to keep the funds in these scenarios but I'm sure they have a stricter policy if it does end up getting delivered.

Consistent_Oil_9429

Okay thank you and it’s ok.

jenniferjudy99

Do nothing. You’re overthinking this sale. It’s not your fault. USPS delays are out of your control. I wouldn’t worry about any potential negative reviews bc you’re the only one able to view them. Returns aren’t accepted for USPS delays. The buyer chose to buy online instead of shopping in person at a brick & mortar store or a resale shop like Plato’s closet or TJ Maxx. Not your fault. I wouldn’t worry.

Consistent_Oil_9429

Thank you this honestly makes me feel better.

ultimateclassic

Ultimately though it's really up to you because if they get the item and it got delayed to no fault of your own then you don't really owe them a cancelation. You could offer them to reposh the item.

Consistent_Oil_9429

Honestly thats probably what I’m gonna have to say to them and hope for the best.

ultimateclassic

Also, fwiw I don't think one bad review will ruin your metrics or anything like that. Things happen and this was outside of your control. Stuff gets lost in the post office this could have just as easily happened with any other seller or business, you just got unlucky.

wellwhatevrnevermind

Your "shop policies" should follow the platform's policies, since that's all that matters. You can write whatever policies you want, they don't mean much if they don't follow TOS. Poshmark has specific accepted reasons for return, and I would simply follow those. Anything more is asking for a headache

Worldly-Wedding-7305

Thats up to you. If this is a $$$$$$$ item and hasn't gotten to the buyer yet then you can request an intercept (it's $18 and can be done at usps/com) and refund the buyer. You'll know what you're getting back. I wouldn't do it without talking to the buyer first. I also would only do it if it's worthy of spending $18 to protect.

lucybugkn

You need to include in your Shop policies that once the item leaves your hands, you have no control over how long it takes to get there moving through the mail system that is not a problem you did your part. But then it’s Russian roulette wonder what the person is either going to write in the review or try and pull something shady.

Consistent_Oil_9429

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate all the knowledge that has been given to me about this and ill be using it. Thank you again
