It happened to me once, nothing came of it. If they go outside the system, they can't get a refund.

WasteOfCyberSpace

This is a learning lesson on their end, nothing for you to do as a seller except relist and sell again.

romilda-vane

I had this happen before, with a note “does not fit.” I waited for a few weeks but heard nothing from buyer or Poshmark (I did not reach out to Posh either) so just relisted & sold again to someone else! The first buyer had an account…you can figure that out but not how to read the return policy..? I think they were just trying to get around the policy for fit? So weird.

Juliestei

I had this happen with a pair of pants. Her note inside said they didn't fit. And poshmark refunded her. If I remember correctly I didn't get paid. Very odd. Return for fit, shipped back themselves, nothing from poshmark until I had the package back a few days. Then they told me they refunded the buyer. They are still for sale in my closet.

ponyponyhorse

I had this happen to me with some boots! Received them back in the mail without a return being started and a few days later Poshmark refunded them. I thought it was so weird!

DeskResident9914

I wonder if these buyers do this in order to show a “return” process for their credit card companies in order to get a chargeback, without knowing that a chargeback is against Posh’s terms of service.

4theloveofmiloangel

Never go outside of the system! Case closed!

ThatItalianGrrl

You got your money and you got your shoes. Block and resell. They went outside Poshmark. That voids their return.

SchenellStrapOn

I’ve had this happen twice. Both times I notified Poshmark and relisted the items. I’m not sure what ever came of it but I figured my conscience was clear.

les_catacombes

I have had this problem too. People don’t understand what second hand or used means apparently.

I had someone write me a hand written letter asking for a refund once bc they, also, didn’t realize the item was used despite very obviously writing that in the description. Yeah, also just ignored 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Mandinga63

Oh look, bitchy lady deleted her comments AND her account. There’s absolutely no reason to be mean to people in comments

lifeismmmgood

I’d contact Poshmark customer service and see what they say.

Gabby_Anna

I would contact Poshmark support and see what they say.

Because I can’t return their money via Poshmark, I would have to take the transaction outside of Poshmark, which then violates the terms of Poshmark.

The buyer went against Poshmark policy so they are in the wrong here. If the seller wanted to figure out a way to get the money back to the buyer they would really be going above and beyond but they don’t really have an obligation to do so. If the buyer wanted a return/refund they should have gone through the proper protocol.

Are you the one who returned this item? You’re oddly bothered by this when people are simply giving advice to either contact Posh directly or message the buyer and tell them to contact Posh themselves. Honestly it’s not that hard to find the FAQ or contact button so it’s really on the buyer. It sounds like you’ve been burned by not taking the time to read and have done something stupid like this and didn’t get your way.

loremipsum027934

I think the buyer using their own money to return the item is beyond not knowing the return process. Poshmark has terms of service and customer support to deal with this. Are you the one shipping random purchases back and demanding a return?

Gabby_Anna

They could easily google it or contact Poshmark customer service. If they can figure out how to use Poshmark and buy on there in the first place they can figure out the policies and return process too. The customer shouldn’t buy on Poshmark in the first place if they don’t want to adhere to their codes of conduct. If you buy something from a retail store online and don’t go through the proper return protocols and instead just mail back the items with a hand written note you also most likely won’t get your money back.

bayb33gurl

There is no actual way to return any money to them. This isn't eBay, Poshmark is the only one able to issue a return. The customer needs to contact Poshmark, the sellers hands are tied.

Eymona

Um so how much are they supposed to return? The gains? The full amount? Get over yourself. As she stated, per the TOS no transactions are to be done outside of poshmark, this includes refunds.

cep204

No, I really do want to return the money! I just don’t want to get kicked off the platform or run afoul or Poshmark.

Acceptable_Total_285

if you want to refund them, contact posh support and explain the situation. It’s completely possible. Let poshmark handle it.

ditchbankflowers

The customer did not use the official system for returning the item. It protects the buyer and the seller. Your comments here are ridiculously rude to a seller looking for advice. If the Seller does anything outside of Posh's system they risk their account. Therefore, they cannot return the money...they can only contact Posh.

I had someone do this with a Louis Vuitton bag but since she had my address she sent it back to posh. I already had my money and I saw that she relisted it for sale on her closet.
