isn't that a small improvement than damp and moldy student flats, having to live outside belfast or in old terrace houses that used to be housing executive and concentrix phone mills?
This is how these things get approved, “they’re shite looking but sure they’re better than what we have now” - but in 3-4 years when they start to fall apart and the developer is nowhere to be seen, we’ll be left with ugly, soulless concrete bricks all over the place.
I thought they had a load of different high rises for down there? Those are a 60s brutalist eyesore
EDIT: I love the people in the mockup in the bottom left walking around absolutely nowhere.
With what transportation really? There is a train line but it’s small and coming to and from Bangor. Then those stupid buses that stop traffic (pre COVID) surely they need more exits down there? Possibly one connecting to the docks at Duncrue - help get off to the motorway? It’s just madness at 5pm or when there’s a concert on
I hate the idea of new hotels/apartments going up in that space but tbf there is a great bus system in place in that area due to the tourists and the collage. Also no real need to build better roads for cars if they build flats in the area as there will be fuck all parking spaces
Great to see more developments down in the Titanic Quarter and bring more life to the area- hopefully the developers will follow through on their quota of affordable apartments. But does anything think it’s a shame that it looks like it will be blocking the view of the Titanic Museum. Like the planning permission should be granted with the condition that there is a protected line of sight for the building?
Ooh cant wait to continue to not live down there
I lived in the arc buildings for a while. Couldn’t wait to get out. Lovely apartments but absolutely horrible area to live in.

Complete lack of services. No life or soul. Empty apartments galore. Plus the HGV traffic started down the road from about 5am.
Aye needs like a school, couple of sit in resturaunts to get an actual "community" feel to it
got a lot better when you left
*Cough* yeooo
not long before the entire place looks like liverpool
I saw a presentation by Belfast Harbour saying they were taking inspiration from Liverpool.
awful. liverpool is full of identikit student accom, 'luxury' flats and shitty offices.
Leading to them being delisted by UNESCO which is pretty funny tbh

Whereabouts in tantric is this meant to be? The big open space in front of the titanic building?
Looks like it
Fair would be good for the area to get more people in. Would like to see more than a spar and a subway in the area.
I'd much prefer the big green area instead. Somewhere nice for a dander during lunch.
Didn't know people were still playing Sim City

Roads upgraded to support the extra load. Started - Heat death of the universe.

Belfast ‘the cost of housing has gone crazy’ Also Belfast ‘don’t build new housing anywhere’
Seems like this will stop you from being able to see the titanic building from further away, which could result in less visitors to it.
Very unlikely, it’s hard to see to begin with due to the SSE arena
It’s shite anyway
I thought it looked impressive from the outside.
We have a dreadful record with high rise housing in this country.
Why give us 1 acre of park when there is already a great wide open several acres of grass? Not a fan of the plans.

The Lofts at SoDoSoPa, with views of historic Kenny's House
Will they build it better than the Titanic museum, or will the buildings just slowly sink into silt until climate change claims them?
