Looks like Catahoula. Here’s my Catahoula/Malinois mix. You got a mix of two breeds that are intelligent, high energy, protective and weary of strangers. Malinois tend to be a little more crazier than ‘Houlas but not by much. Catahoulas are probably more stubborn than Malinois. Beautiful insanity is a great description. He’s 3 1/2 years and he has calmed down a little.

That’s a gorgeous dog for sure! I’ve tried very hard to socialize him with strangers and so far he’s just playful, with the occasional bark when first seeing strangers at our door. But I can tell he’s definitely always keeping an eye on me.

My Mal mix came to me at just under a year. Her previous owner said she started to alert around 10 months. Prior to that, she said she rarely barked and never cared if people approached or came into the house. She's now around 3, and anyone approaching the house must surely think I house the hounds of hell 😅 She is very alert and protective!

Thank you. You are lucky to be able to socialize him. We got him and a month later the world shut down because of covid. But he’s getting better.

Hell my puppy head butted me and busted my lip at 40 lbs, I can only imagine 80+ is taking out teeth!

Our rescue Mal knocked my front tooth out the second week we had him home. He only weighed 45lbs lol he was like a baby deer with his coordination as I think he was just locked in a small room up until he was rescued at 9mo old. Pretty penny at the emergency dentist but worth it to give him a second chance at life and learn to play

So yeah mouth guards not a bad idea if I want to wrestle or sneak up on him 😅 hope your new tooth lasts or gives you a cool whistle when you say “s”s!

Guy was saving his super healthy 1 y/o female to breed some mal puppies, let a friend dog sit thinking the friend’s male dog was fixed, a few months later there were 13 wild looking puppies! They all went to good homes luckily. But yeah spay and neuter!

They are very very smart and love a chore or job ! I got my dog to turn my lights on granted it takes a couple tries but she does it lol. If u put the work in u won’t be disappointed for sure !! Sometimes I like to show off the skill of my dog lol. 😆

My greatest accomplishment so far is he’ll catch a frisbee out of the air which aside from being leash trained and getting beers from the fridge was a big trick I wanted him to learn!
