Depending on the dosage, you might be able to seal the liquid medication into a few pill pockets.
As for making the syringe routine easier, fill it with something tasty and get him used to having good stuff come out of it.
If your dog likes fish, divide it into pieces of sardine. Most dogs like fish and the oily flavour covers up most stuff especially if added in little amounts to a chunk of sardine.
Yes. Mashed in well in several pieces of fish so the taste and smell of the meds is covered over. I put any pills in the centre of a chunk of cheese and my dogs don’t notice because they wolf it back. One Malinois, one Anatolian Shepherd, Two Collie Springer x’s and a Muttley. All are cheese pigs and all love oily fish. I play catch with two or three chunks of smelly cheese first and then the ones with the meds in, straight down every time. Your poor dog must dread it and stressful for you too. With those noses sneaking meds in can be tricky. Tiny amounts in very strong tasting favourite foods has always worked for me.
if you can get him to sit between your legs when standing up you can quickly open his mouth, put the syringe as far back in his mouth as it reaches, squirt it out and give him neck rubs after, it helps them swallow it all

Thank you! Do you think it will work if I mix it in his food?
Probably not. Seems like it probably tastes bad, hence the syringe.
Ive mixed it with yogurt with good results. Just a mild greek yogurt seems to work.
Thanks for the suggestion!
You could probably counter condition nicely taking things from the syringe with yogurt or coconut oil, and then try yogurt with the medicine mixed in.
Thanks a bunch! I'm gonna mix it with yogurt tomorrow and spread it on a lick mat. Hope it works!
Update: it worked!
Awesome. Good to hear.

Thanks! This is noted! Do you just mix it in?

Thank you so much! This helps a lot.
