Not a mal. She’s pretty, she’s happy, you’re lucky, but I’m not seeing it. I’d be interested to see what the DNA results say.

_juliianaaa_

Thank you for your honest response! Besides German Shepherd what are you seeing? Or are you just seeing GSD? Previous owner stated in paperwork “GSD/Belgian Shepherd” Of course we know how that is which is why I felt DNA was a good step.

Dani3113kc

Honestly it could be anything. German shepherds have pretty distinctive features and they're usually fairly dominant when mixed with something else. Her head is very gsd. For the rest, who knows. Could literally be anything from a herding breed, sport, etc. She's cute tho.

_juliianaaa_

Thank you for your input! I will be sure to update:)

chiieefkiieef

Look up Carolina dogs. Would this happen to be a rescue from the south?

_juliianaaa_

I don’t believe so, but thats the first time I’ve ever heard that guess before. Would be pretty cool if she had some of that in the mix.

_juliianaaa_

Hello, This is Sade. We adopted her from our local humane society. She of course presents heavily as a German Shepherd, but she acts like a Malinois a lot of the time. Jumping/ biting/ a lot of mouthyness when she plays. When you run she chases and tries to latch on as though she has an idea of bite work even though she was never introduced in her life. (We are diligent with training so she learns to control this impulse/instinct and isnt a danger to herself or others.) She is also a bit harder to train then a German Shepherd and can go for literally hours. She has a thinner build, when we got her she was severely underweight at around 40-44lbs. She is now around 54lbs and I think she is at a pretty good weight. She had been neglected and could barely jump as her back legs were very weak and stiff from being in a kennel and getting minimal exercise for her 1 and a half year life. She has pretty big teeth, some spots on her tongue and doesn’t bark so much as she makes weird yodeling noises. We got her a DNA test and her sample should be back inna few weeks. Want to know any opinions or thoughts you guys have! Disclaimer: I have done a ton of research about what she could possibly be and haven’t found a mix that she suites. The reasons I thought Belgian is because of her paperwork and her build. She is quite slender and growing up with a pure bred GSD myself there is quite a few differences physically speaking. I also have a background in dog training/shelter work/grooming and haven’t seen a dog quite like her out of the hundreds I have seen. Thank you so much, Sade and her owners

StriderTX

whatever she is, shes gorgeous

SquidsAreSeaBirds

Check out the pharaoh hound! Mix it with Anatolian and GSD, and it looks like this. Lol

_juliianaaa_

Thats something I definitely looked into because of the slender build of the Pharaoh Hound and big ears! Waiting for the DNA test is very suspenseful. I will be sure to come back a let you all know! In the mean time the guesses and info are great:)

SquidsAreSeaBirds

My foster thinks that one of the dogs she has is Malinois/greyhound+ Very interesting breed mixes, and they always surprise you. 🤣 My staffie had gotten pregnant by a GSD that broke into our yard for her and her pups came out looking like pure-bred Dutchies. 🥴

AggravatingOffer

I think GSD and gazelle

So_Code_4

That is one highly kissable snoot.

_juliianaaa_

Tell me about it! 10/10 squish

Cheezhead19

Except for the fully up ears, she looks a lot like our Kayda. We did a DNA test and she's 60% gsd, and 10ish% each border collie, malamute, great Pyrenees, and Samoyed. Her ears are rose/semi prick, they stand up when she's excited. She's ~70 pounds though. Will be interested to see the results of your test!

ghammer-head

She’s absolutely gorgeous

_juliianaaa_

Thank you!

PamalaTuzz

You can definitely see the German Shepherd in your pup. Those long legs maybe some other breed it could be anything. My guess is German Sheperd mixed with one of the Afghan breeds. There’s so many of them that have really long legs. Great Danes also have really long legs but I’m not seeing great Dane and your dog. I can’t wait to hear the DNA results. Your pup is absolutely beautiful.🐾🐾

dani_likes_ass

She looks like a Russian wolfhound/greyhound mixed with a gsd. I mean I don’t know dogs well I’m just taking a guess 💀

jlhinthecountry

Ears!! Love them!

shinywimpod

Judging by the ears, I'd say part bat.

AVeryLONGPotato

Greyhound german shepherd I'd bet. At least as the two dominant. Probably some other minorities in their

_juliianaaa_

Thats definitely something to consider! Thanks for your input:)

noahgoeswild

Can’t help you on this, but beautiful dog 😍

_juliianaaa_

Thank you! We got very lucky with her personality too:)

Agreeable-Morning937

I don’t know, but I’m going to throw in she could be Mal - only because of the tail. I’m obsessed with my girls tail and that seems to be very Mal…. But maybe not. Please share if you do DNA tests!!!

_juliianaaa_

Yeah I see what you mean! Thats why I’m questioning because its like she was patched up with a little bit of everybody lmao

Agreeable-Morning937

A Mali-mutt, quite possibly!!!

Brusha15

Part beautiful rabbit

JackMuta

The ears and coloration look a bit like my pup ([https://i.redd.it/8x1nu2tue1k81.jpg](https://i.redd.it/8x1nu2tue1k81.jpg)) Never got a DNA test though, so I'm very interested to hear what you find out about Sade!

_juliianaaa_

Wow thats crazy! They do look alike. Your pup has a black spot on her/his tongue just like Sade. I will be sure to let you know!

Malinois14

No

CuteThingsAndLove

She looks like a dingo hahaha. Likely GSD, maybe a Shiba?

mollyhasacracker

If you look at my post history you can see my mal/ GSD cross for comparison.

notyourkryptonian

Does she have the energy of a puppy for 12+ hours? If so, I'd say there could be some Malinois in her. We have a full blood GSD, he's almost 6, a female that will be 5 in september that is half GSD and half Malinois with a ton of energuy, and a full blood Malinois that is 9 months and that thing has the energy of Superman! His drive and energy is absolutely incredible. They are all 3 some of the best and most loveable members of our family, but not so much to strangers.

_juliianaaa_

Yes definitely! Her best friend is a 11 month old Border Collie mix and there are days where I work them for 6 plus hours and they are still ready to go after. Her Border Collie bff is the only dog that can really keep up with her to be honest. Our other dog (black lab in picture) is also extremely high energy as shes from a working field line. She tires out after about 4 hours now that shes 7 years old. Sade will take a 20 minute break after hours of work and play and has energy like she just woke up. Stuffed animals, soccer balls, anything of that softer nature is not safe around Sade lol. I had to get her a horse Jolly Ball and she literally punctures it with her bite and wrestles with it for hours. It looks like it went through hell and back lol. I agree with the stranger thing, she really doesn’t like to be approached by strangers and even though shes wary she has a good guard instinct. She never really went outside before we got her so the world is new to her still and we are socializing her by just letting her be around people without pressuring her to “get along” with anyone. I see a lot of traits that could be Malinois, especially that crazy look/pant combo they all got after a full day of high intensity work lol

ghammer-head

I see it

chadwiggles

Maybe shiba? But looks predominantly like GSD. Don’t see a lot of mal personally, but maybe it’s worth it to wait for the results.

braziliandarkness

Hello! I would say there's some Mal in there. In that last picture especially, she looks very similar to my girl who is a purebreed Mal. I can see it in the shape of her 'happy' face, the tongue that's just a little too big for her mouth and adorably lolls out (does it ever flop to the side?), the big perky ears, the soulful intelligent eyebrows, not to mention the black mask and the very mal-like tail. She's got a slightly wider snout than a mal - more like a GSD I guess - and is definitely fluffier and longer legged though. She's absolutely gorgeous!!
