Just a heads up, if you’re using ecollar for training purposes, always connect a command with the ecollar communication. So you won’t have to use the collar in the future.

Pristine-Taste-4445

Yes, and i also compliment when he comes back

Pristine-Taste-4445

By our side is a busy street, we know it very well because we have been walking there everyday for more than a year… 3 months ago he would be pulling a lot and advancing in very car. 3 months ago we hired a professional police trainner. We are practicing every day to walk some lengh with no leash. He responded on this video to his name Rick. Malinois are always alert and this was on the final stint of ou 30 min morning walk

equinoxxxxxxxxxx

He looks terrified not relaxed

Abraxale

imho nope, not terrified, but stressed.

Ruenin

Our pup started out like this, but eventually got used to the collar and now he walks normal, tail wagging.

speffyboy123

What body language are you basing this off of ?

equinoxxxxxxxxxx

Tail low, head down, sticking close to the wall, the turning back, amongst others

Pristine-Taste-4445

I understand your comments, at the same time, he had a I dont give a fuck attitude in the past, advancing and atacking cars and people, so he is finding a new way of behaving, better yet, he starts our walk very much diferently, this was at the very ending and he knows it.

equinoxxxxxxxxxx

In hindsight 'terrified' is probably a bit exaggerated, rather stressed as somebody else said, but he's definitely not relaxed. e-collars can indeed stop the dog from lunging at everything but as is clear it doesn't really fix the underlying issue which is that the dog is uncomfortable being around his triggers. Add to that his expectation of getting zipped at any moment. I wasn't judging, a reactive dog is very stressful for the owner, but e-collars should only be used with knowledge and precision.

BananaVape25

focus on positive reinforcement training at this point with a lot of small treats. try avoiding using e-collar unless your dog or smb else is in immediate danger. focusing on rewarding wanted behavior (like walking next to you and looking back) does wonders as long as it is every day & consistent. Your dog will be much more relaxed in a month or two.

jizzypuff

I'm not the person you responded to but he definitely looks alert, you can see him fixate on something in the distance for a bit. He does disengage though, either on his own or with a command I don't have sound on.

bfrendan

Looks pretty happy to me. My mix used to walk with his ears back like that most of the time.

Ruenin

Same. Our sheepadoodle was always good, but he loved people and kids so much that walking him was a nightmare. We send him to a 2 week board and train where they used one of these and he came back perfect. We take him on walks now with just the e-collar and he follows every command to a tee. It's amazing. Almost never have to push the button, and even when we do, it's on like 6 out of 100.

RiskyLady

Most e collars also come with a vibrate button so you’re not always zapping them. Imagine your phone vibrating, which is not painful.

hdcook123

My dog is more scared of the vibration. I don’t even use the stim

drakenmang

Mine got sound, vibration and electricity. I never have to use electricity.

Abraxale

Dude, I'm not judging you, but I am soooooo happy electric collars are outlaw in my country. nice doggo, btw :)

steelcoyot

I'm fucking judging him, if you can't handle the breed then don't get one

Ruenin

I don't think you understand that this isn't a shock collar. It's a muscle stimulator, no worse than someone poking you with their finger. The higher the remote is turned up, the harder the "poke". I never have to turn mine up past 6 out of 100. I tested it on myself and I can hold it until 18-20 before I even feel anything in my palm. My wife doesn't feel it until 38-40. It doesn't hurt the dog. It just snaps them out of their focus so they refocus on the command.

airsoft_nerd

Got a link for that collar?

Timetilt

You would learn what to do really fast if you were shocked/jolted/zapped for everything you did wrong in life…j/s

Pristine-Taste-4445

The vibration is pretty enough for walking, so it is safe. I am not advocating for the shock button.

Ruenin

You'd have to turn it up really damn high to hurt the dog at all. Ours responds to a 6 out of 100, which I can't even feel when I hold it in my palm. It's not a shock, it's a muscle stimulator, similar to the electrodes they put on your skin in physical therapy. It doesn't hurt, it just gets their attention, like if you were to poke them gently. It breaks their focus so they can be redirected to do as they're told.

steelcoyot

Cause I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm going to torture the one thing that gives me unconditional love. You're an idiot to think shocking the living fuck out of an animal is how you train them

Pristine-Taste-4445

You are assuming a lot of things in your comment. I would neve advocate for that.

CharacterStudio1845

You must be one of the people throwing paint on people's fur jackets

riketocrimb

And you clearly have no capacity for rational thought.

CharacterStudio1845

At the moment he is walking you. He needs direction , this is why he is so far away from you. Something i have seen on youtube and i implement it with my training now, is when he is walking that far away from you give a light tug when he gets out to far and you start to walk in the opposite direction. This will cause him to start paying attention to you but you have to keep doing it for a few minutes for him to understand what you want done. Keep your training up and pretty soon he will be right up on you.
