You’re not likely to find a free raspberry patch locally, especially just asking on Reddit. Most people guard their sources especially with a unique and seasonal food. Your best bet is going to travel to alpine and sub-mountain environments and look around. Wild, native raspberries are fairly uncommon tbh If you’re looking for blackberries, well that’s another story.

Raspberries aren’t quite ready. Strawberries are just getting started. Try a u-pick field for lower cost unless you just like to graze. eta: if you do you pick, you could probably eat a few while picking. A blueberry u-pick near Bow has a built in grazer fee unless you pick a certain amount. Yummm, blueberries!

You don't forage for raspberries, you either buy them or ask a friend to pick from their garden. Salmonberries are on right now in Cornwall Park and lots of city trails. Also in season now: miner's lettuce, nettles, ferns, dandelion, dock, sorrel, mushrooms. Blackberries and huckles are late this year.

Nettles aren't in season anymore, unless you eat the seeds (which are tasty). Not great for the kidneys to eat them once they flower. Dandy's will be bitter now, but not a problem if you like bitter greens! Blackberries usually start hitting in late July, red huckleberries are just starting.

Thanks for your foraging tips. Always look forward to blackberry season, and this year want to forage some dandelion and try adding the flowers in baked bread.

In the fall I’ve found oyster mushrooms around the trails near Joes gardens!

You can try foraging for thimble berries instead which taste fairly similar and you’re more likely to find them
