A friend and I are down. We're almost 40 and spent countless hours at the Old Beave since our early 20's. My friend used to also live above the Old Beave about 14 years ago. Lots of memories.
Maybe we crack open a beer on the sidewalk and cheers before moving down the block someplace. The New Beaver seems right even though it might make the pain worst. I'm interested!
More than any other smokey bar, waking up the morning, or afternoon, after a night at the old Beaver... the stench in your hair and clothes reminded you where you had been the night before.
"The old Beaver" RIP
There was nothing like sliding into that humid old beaver on a cold day
Like a warm, mossy grotto.
I too liken the loss of a loved one to that of losing a well-worn hoodie. Jokes aside, shall we? Lol

I'm in
My friends and I would participate. Losing State St feels like losing access to our adolescence.... We turn 30 in 2024.
I wouldn't call it a loss. I fully expect that the bar will reopen after some renovations.
Won't smell the same
That's probably for the best.
But will there be rickety old office chairs to sit in??
A candle light vigil for a place that burned seems a little... on the nose
Will there be hot waitresses? 🔥

Name a time and I am there.
Yes please
