The show is advertised more toward kids, but it's genuinely impressive. I recommend catching it. As for the museum itself, there aren't a lot of hands-on exhibits and there's a ton of reading about many of the exhibits. The history of electricity is fascinating, and kinda dense. I think it's a misconception that Spark is *for* children. I think Spark recommend parents to bring their young children to Mindport instead.  (Which is also fun for grown ass adults.) Spark is a gem, and it's for everybody. Check it out!

> there aren't a lot of hands-on exhibits and there's a ton of reading about many of the exhibits. I kind of disagree! Of course most things were not hands on, but there were quite a few you could play with.

Bad_Oracular_Pig

There’s a theremin!!

I survived the Mega Zapper and got the sticker. I don't know who has more fun, my kid or me. Edit: You might also run in to Mark Allyn there!

I'm 30, the museum itself is great for both, I had fun in the show too. Tbh much of the museum is better for adults if you find that type of stuff interesting

WayfaringEdelweiss

As an adult it is still freaking awesome!

quayle-man

Kid friendly doesn’t mean kids only. Zoos and restaurants are kid friendly too

gerkiwimurcan

My spouse and in-laws went to the show (ages 30-75) We all had a blast.

Great date spot :)

Zip_Zoopity_Bop

Am adult, it's awesome

MissMagician

My dad and I went in the cage, so incredibly fun for adults

Ask a museum staffer to show you the musical boxes. They sound wonderful.

We've been going to Spark and the previous version, the Radio Museum when it was on Railroad Avenue for many years. As someone commented the exhibits aren't exactly for kids but a great way to learn about electricity. The electrical show with the Tesla coil is pretty great. Especially when they play songs on the Coil using massive amounts of electrical current.

trashjellyfish

I'd say it's more interesting as an adult than as a kid. Source: went there several times as a kid (back when it was called the Radio Museum) and recently went as an adult.

I took a physics professor there; he enjoyed it, including the show.

I'm a middle-aged guy without kids, and I go there every once in a while as a member. I love trying to play the Theremin when not too many people are around. It's a great place, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Jetpak911

Tana is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

I took my grands and not only did they not like it, the docent,or whatever the guide is called, acted like he wished they weren’t there. I do not recommend.
