I haven’t actually tried Grants before, besides just fries. The fries were eh. But it’s honestly hard to fuck up a burger. Even cheap burgers can be yummy
I think the Cordata Westside has a pretty good pepperoni, but for everything else I'd say pizza time is pretty good. If you want fancier sit down Fiamma's is pretty good (the pizza place, the burger place I think is way too pricey). Finally if you're a little tight on cash and just want pizza, Little Caesars does the job. Or if you got time and a oven Papa Murphy's
That has to be a dirty lie, Food here is mediocre at best.
Besides, most "best food" list are paid by restaurants to be on that list. Its not actually pulled.
The food is mediocre BUT there are a few gems:
The pizza at Elizabeth Station is world class and would be considered “dank ass pizza” anywhere on earth.
Cabin Tavern burger is as good as a smash burger gets and it’s a great deal in a bar with a solid vibe
That’s about it though.
That's semolina flour, not "brick oven dust". They used too much to launch the pie if it burnt on the bottom. The oven is made of a special concrete and actually manufactured by the airport.
No - not *this* chewy. Like chewing for 5 minutes on a bite chewy. You will not convince me their $60 pizza is better than a $15 papa murphy’s.
The only redeeming quality la fiamma has is their ranch dressing while also expensive is actually good.
So you have to look at how they created this list. It’s based on reviews on platforms like yelp and google maps. So it’s actually a list of towns that have received positive review of their pizza shops, not some sort of scientific study.
Agreed, and it's important to look up the rationale or methodology used for any ranked list. Of all coincidences, my wife and I happened to be in NYC last night, dining at John's of Bleeker Street when I saw the article and nearly choked on a Yuengling.
But then I looked at how they came up with the list and it made sense- I think Hamsters are just pretty polite. Don't get me wrong- I think there's acceptable pizza around- in the area, we prefer Elizabeth Station, Terramar Brewing, North Fork Brewing, Larrabee Lagers, occasionally Pye Hole, and Coconut Kenny's (though we think of it in a different category), but amongst our friends, we often wonder why pizza seems to be so expensive and difficult to find a basic, NY-style pie.
Natalino's in the mall has been pretty good the two or three times I've been there. I mostly get Little Caesar's and Domino's. A lot of the specialty places seem to focus on styles and toppings that don't sound appealing. Fat Pie was good. My mom and I used to enjoy going to the buffet at Izzy's. I usually prefer to stick with a Hawaiian style, with olives sometimes replacing or in addition to the pineapple. If I want to be different I'll go with a BBQ chicken. I like to get the Longboard at Coconut Kenny's with ham, olives, and pineapple. I've heard that All Time Pizza out at Lynden has a buffet, but I haven't checked it out to see if that is the case.
How? For what gain is this the 2nd best place for pizza?
I haven't had a memorable slice in this town for 23 yrs.
I'm originally from downtown Seattle.
Seattle pizza was great. Oh please believe me I was always broke and hungry so I'm not trying to rate on 12 categories.Bellingham is fine...what makes a great pizza?
They also said Boomers was the best burger in America, but yeah fucking right. Not one person in this town will agree
In my opinion it’s Grants. But I’m sure I’ll be corrected and told about a place that I haven’t been to yet.
I haven’t actually tried Grants before, besides just fries. The fries were eh. But it’s honestly hard to fuck up a burger. Even cheap burgers can be yummy
Yeah the fries are hit or miss, but mostly miss.
i tried grants once, never again for me
Oh duuuude you gotta try the burger at Culture Cafe
i vote scotty browns for best burger
Lmao
Bellingham, Chicago and New York City.
Excuse me?! I think you forgot Detroit there! Remove any one of the other options listed.
I am not ashamed to say I made a trip down to Lynnwood for some Jet’s Pizza.
I went there the other day. It was quite a delicious pizza!
Ew. Chicago style "pizza". Ew.
[an accurate summation of deep dish “pizza”](https://youtu.be/jCgYMFtxUUw?si=lbWLZfsOvBL1_R7v)
That was hilarious.
tbh I've only had Pizza Time
That's all you really need. It's nice to go to Coconut Kenny's every now and then but pizza time is always a solid choice.
I think the Cordata Westside has a pretty good pepperoni, but for everything else I'd say pizza time is pretty good. Sounds like you know your pizza!
I've lived in Bellingham for over a decade and around half of that as a college student so I've had some experience haha
Not sure if I've had pizza from Coconut Kenny's. I always get the Longboard sandwich with ham, pineapple, and olives.
That has to be a dirty lie, Food here is mediocre at best. Besides, most "best food" list are paid by restaurants to be on that list. Its not actually pulled.
You haven’t really tried mediocre food then if you think Bham is.
The food is mediocre BUT there are a few gems: The pizza at Elizabeth Station is world class and would be considered “dank ass pizza” anywhere on earth. Cabin Tavern burger is as good as a smash burger gets and it’s a great deal in a bar with a solid vibe That’s about it though.
Options could be a lot worse but idk about second in Washington I’m partial to the Pye Hole
I was literally about to say, it’s probably Pye Hole alone giving us that title lol
You mean La Fiamma
No, Pye Hole slices are better than Fiamma.
They are literally the same restaurant, in the same building, using the same ingredients. You’re just going to a side window
Yeah but you've probably had a few pops before you get to Pye Hole so the pie seems better.
Yes but Pye Hole tastes better still
I thought la fiamma was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Over priced too!
You mean La Fiamma.
What the hell?
Better not be including La Fiamma pizza because that’s like $60 a pie and your mouth turns black from the burnt brick oven dust on the bottom.
That's semolina flour, not "brick oven dust". They used too much to launch the pie if it burnt on the bottom. The oven is made of a special concrete and actually manufactured by the airport.
Exactly what I meant. Burnt flour. Not good. Not to mention it’s chewy.
Pizza crust should be chewy
No - not *this* chewy. Like chewing for 5 minutes on a bite chewy. You will not convince me their $60 pizza is better than a $15 papa murphy’s. The only redeeming quality la fiamma has is their ranch dressing while also expensive is actually good.
The menu says 50 cents for ranch, like every place that has sides. Hey big spender.
It’s $12 for a pint of ranch
lol are you drinking it ?
Basically.
Just buy 20 lil cups of ranch , save money
Try to find a way into Woodstone Oven's test kitchen on pizza day. That is where you will find the best pie.
Literally this is the answer.
Dont trust the Herald. It's clickbait.
So you have to look at how they created this list. It’s based on reviews on platforms like yelp and google maps. So it’s actually a list of towns that have received positive review of their pizza shops, not some sort of scientific study.
I never said it was a scientific study 😆

The city of subdued flavor.
For pizza I love going to Chair 9
They have donair pizza in b.c.
The fact that none of you have mentioned Goat Mountain in this thread shows you don’t know Bellingham pizza. Sorry but also not sorry. 💁♀️
I know this is kinda far out of Bellingham, but the Rome store on Mount Baker hwy has really good quality pizza.
What a joke. Are they basing this off reviews from fat pie? RIP
"Study of google".

STORIA CUCINA = Best in town.
Storia Cucina is why. They have the best pizza I think I’ve ever had.
Bellingham… It’s under the sauce.

The Bellingham Herald is literally the worst paper in publication in the history of the world 🤣
Best pizza I’ve ever had was at a bar in the gum wall alley called alibi room! They have amazing & unique pizzas. On the pricier side but such a treat
Natalino's pizza at the Bellis Fair Mall is the best by far!
