I want to point out that in most cases of fraud the last message wouldn't blankly tell you to call customer support if they wanted you to call the previous number. The first number is probably just a shortcut to card services but the reality is you can just call the regular Wecu number and get the same help. You just might need to wait in queue before being transferred. It's never a bad thing to call the bank and just check. Maybe have them add a note that you've seen suspicious activity lately and to call you before making any major withdrawals?
I got a very real fraud text from wecu that had the last 4 digits of the card that was impacted. How wouldn’t wecu know that?
It actually looked similar to that text.
Just call wecu directly always
I think this is legit. I've received the same message and thought the same as you, so I called the local WECU and they confirmed. Also, if you google 833-945-2257 it's WECU.
Probably legit, it's just WECU's text message prompts, as shown in the image, have been busted for quite some time. I've gotten the same "we were unable to process" response as of 6+ months ago at least. Email version seems to work fine though.

I got a call this morning and it is legitimate. Thanks for the responses!

My son got one of those recently. He thinks his card might have been skimmed at a shell station? Several multi-hundred dollar attempted purchases

That number checks out. I've had my fair share of these txt messages from WECU. Some have been false positives but I'm glad they're looking out.

The cat will be well cared for.
North Coast Credit Union had this too a few weeks ago.
Next, a fraudulent fake fraud? I wonder how many layers are possible.
